HOROSCOPES BY KNOWYOURNUMB3RS KYA FRENCH

December 2, 2021 — December 8, 2021

Vinateria With practical application in time, you can’t help but to fulfill your dreams, visions, and be on a mission guaranteed to win. Information, ideas, and the things you need will come to you rather quickly, and sometimes slow. TRUST THE PROCESS. When you feel like the universe is not on your side, you’ll have given up on yourself. HOWEVER, demand to ask and to write out what you need, and not just want. Don’t doubt, although you may at first fear the Universe, it sometimes tests you to see if you do want it bad enough as you eat, live, and breathe. When you believe, the cosmic energy shows up bearing gifts or directing you on your path with sudden and unforeseen meetings and events. Don’t cry over spilled milk as the nodes of the moon are shifting from Gemini and Sagittarius to its Taurus and Scorpio axis. The whole world will feel this shift even more so with the influence of Uranus in Taurus making things intense with a bit of a shake and a bang with a rebuttal with trembling effects. A temporary drought season may be upon us as well due to the earth’s transformation in its climate, agriculture, and economics.

Meditation is a great source to utilize as you can sense the energy of an inner knowing. A knowing of a soul mate, relationships by telepathy, by a conversation, as well as communicating or speaking to your inner guides for assistance. Release any karmic ties from the past such as an “ex,” outdated stagnant relationships, including irresponsibility or flawed financial obligations. In its place begin to trim the fat and discard unnecessary items so that it allows you to get into a new space. Start this month out with a goal in mind to set a solid foundation. Review three times or more before completing your work. Your immediate circle of friends will be your greatest help and those you network with by long distance. You may experience an uncomfortable feeling to get you into the groove to proceed to the next stage in the process. By far, this month is very significant as Jupiter in Aquarius exits your sign by Dec. 29, leaving you with a gift for putting up with unique and recent innovative circumstances. If you did the work, you’re greatly appreciated, and the feeling is mutual. For the newbies or beginners, start now. Your schedule requires an enormous amount of work to facilitate this week. December is one busy time. In your mind, you know what to do; however, start connecting the dots and making the phone calls or scheduling meetings of the minds with the collective. Waste no time as this month’s effect is slow with some up-in-the-air moments that require you to focus on what you already know or have in your possession. Have some patience to process the information at hand. Take things to the next level by making it known that the final product is now ready to launch. Clear out the old and renew your perspective and open your heart to walk towards your goals in life. When you want better, you do better, or continue to go in the same cycles producing the same results differently. It’s not worth it, don’t exhaust yourself. Ditch it and let it burn as it will soon fade away. Motivate yourself to find new interests, or study something new. Changes are now within arm’s reach. One that’ll complement your work ethic while building your network and social status. Communication is the key rather than by speaking to family members, community engagements, or advocating for a cause that uplifts the women in your life by sharing your story. With Uranus in Taurus, it allows you to tap into your creative side and guide you on your purpose in an electrifying way. There appears to be a shake-up within your foundation coming this week. It’s more of an awakening of the mind to get yourself together and advance to the next level. Where do you see yourself within the next 3 to 6 months? What transformation are you willing to take as the node of the moon is changing from Gemini & Sagittarius into Taurus & Scorpio.Wake up as the knowledge of truth is flowing in the air, traveling as fast as lightning strikes. It’s prime time for you to get to the meat and potatoes of matters.

Capricorn Dec 22 – Jan 21 New beginnings are the theme for December with the feeling of being more alive with euphoric energy. Now’s the time to get rid of the old with a possibility of relocating, or reorganizing the home, and retiring clothes you can’t fit into anymore. Purging is necessary if you’re feeling the need to restore your battery to upgrade into a renewed version of yourself. Time equals patience and patience equals time. How you invest your time determines your outcome in life. December is filled with opportunities to reach new heights beyond the sun, moon, stars, and space. Everyone has obstacles in life that transition us onto a new journey to be well seasoned, then given a new assignment. What new adventures are you planning to build and create? You are a leader within your family, friends, and circle of a community network. A new door is opening ready for you to walk through either prepared or unprepared. Life will always be a learning experience to sharpen your skills like sharpening a pencil. Creating ideas that lead to building systems that last longer is the key. We are natural-born creators and build this world with our hands once the mind believes it, conceives it and is ready to achieve the goal in mind. The cycle this week sets the tone of what you’re establishing. Dig up some of those ideas that you’ve set on the back burners that are ready to be applied into a class, or online course, etc. Decision-making can be easy when you go with the flow and trust your gut feeling. Think of taking a course or going back to school for the purpose of finding an outlet to brand yourself. This cycle suggests you discover another way to brainstorm your ideas and then create your blueprint for success. Things are occurring swiftly mainly centering around work and your community outreach. Expand yourself and reach out to learn about other people’s expertise. You may even be asking yourself whether you need a mentor. Be selective with whom you share information with as some folks have loose lips that sink ships. It’s a cycle that suggests that something is coming to an end to begin a fresh start in areas of your life. It’s a soul-searching quest, where it’s about asking the question, what’s the meaning of life and your journey. Are you fulfilling your purpose? Spiritually, you may feel connected as you’re receiving some form of insight from your spirit guides, so pay close attention. Take heed therefore to the guidance and details given. A slow process is better than a fast one this week to gather and sort the information as some comes fast and some slow. It’s a great week to fulfill one of your goals while doing your homework including follow-ups. Sketch or layout your top 5 things you want to achieve then divide them into individual entities. This new month suggests you’d better schedule time for a short timeout to work on these entities every day, and by the end of the month, you’ll have a clearer and brighter picture.

‘Babymoon’ getaways for soon-to-be parents

By SHERYL NANCE-NASH

Special to the AmNews

You’ve decided 2022 will be the year you hopefully become a parent. You know your life is about to change. Get ready. Much like couples take a honeymoon to begin wedded bliss, increasingly couples are taking babymoons––a last hurrah for themselves before the baby arrives.

This is one time you two should go for what you want. It might be a “minute” before you guys get another getaway alone.

For many soon-to-be parents, the ideal babymoon is all about rest, relaxation, maybe a last walk on the adventurous or wild side, or pampering, please. With that in mind, here are a few possibilities.

Key Largo, Florida

If you’re not up for the beehive of activity that Key West is, make your way to Key Largo. Enjoy a relaxing ride on the African Queen Canal Cruise. It’s the restored boat from the movie of the same title you’ve likely seen a few times. A trip on a glass bottom boat will give you an up-close view of the amazing reefs. Paddle board, kayak, or snorkel. Two Key Largo experiences you must enjoy are Mrs. Mac’s Kitchen, the kitschy restaurant decorated with license plates donated by guests. They are known for their biscuits and gravy. Over at Sundowners, it’s about the fab sunsets you can see from the restaurant and some of the best seafood in the Keys.

Where to stay: The Bungalows Key Largo is the first and only all-inclusive in the Keys. Each of the villas has its own bougainvillea veranda, oversized soaking tub––any woman who’s been pregnant knows this is paradise––an outdoor garden shower as well as two Huffy beach cruisers, perfect for exploring the property while enjoying fresh air and an ocean breeze. The Babymoon package includes the choice of a Waterfront or Garden View Bungalow, a bottle of sparkling cider for mom-to-be, a bucket of beer for dad-to-be, chocolate covered strawberries, rose petals, and cheese board upon arrival, plus a $200 Spa Credit, and an in-room Bath Butler Treatment. How would you like someone to come to your room to set up your al fresco soaking tub? A four-night minimum stay is required. No worries, you’ll likely want to stay longer. Also consider Playa Largo Resort & Spa. When you’ve had your fill of spa and pool time, take advantage of nearby attractions like John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and Everglades National Park.

Riviera Maya, Mexico

Who says a babymoon is just for couples. Heaven knows that there may not be a lot of time for girls’ or guys’ nights out for a while, that’s if you even have the energy to keep your eyes open. That’s why there’s a Buddy-Babymoon at Grand Velas resorts in Mexico. The experience includes a gender reveal piñata party with babythemed decorations and games, specialty cocktails and mocktails, dessert bar and photo booth, a customized tshirt, belly painting, body massage, mani/pedi and more.

Where to stay: You can do a Buddy-Babymoon at Velas Resorts in Los Cabos, Riviera Maya, Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit.

Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston is ever so romantic. Maybe it’s the cobblestone allies and gorgeous gardens. Picnic along the waterfront, carouse the shops on King Street and eat, eat, eat the infamous Charleston cuisine. The momto-be can feast guilt free, after all, she simply must eat for two. Go for a sunset sail on the Schooner Pride, bicycle or take in history at the city’s museums and mansion tours.

Where to stay: The Restoration Hotel has a Babymoon Package that includes a 2-night stay, in room couples’ massages with prenatal offering, chocolate truffles upon arrival, and a book for the baby: “Good Night Charleston.” The Restoration branded baby bib, complimentary continental breakfast. The Spectator Hotel has a Baby on the Way package that includes an in-room maternity pillow, rose petal turndown service, chocolate covered strawberries, a handmade gift basket full of local goods, like a $50 gift card to Under The Almond Trees baby store, a “Goodnight Charleston” book, an array of treats for any cravings like candy and pickles. If you like, ask for a personal butler who among other things can draw a candlelit lavender-soak bath and deliver handcrafted mocktails. Or stay just outside Charleston at the Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms, for much golf, tennis, and spa time.

San Juan Islands, Washington

Need some time off before baby makes three? Take a short floatplane ride from Seattle or an hour-long ferry from the mainland of Washington State. The island is ideal for nature lovers with gentle hikes, sea kayaking, farm to table foods and plentiful pampering spas. The scenery alone will soothe your spirit.

Where to stay:

Spend a memorable romantic weekend at the Tucker House Inn & Harrison House Suites. The vibe is relaxing, the food satiating. Anticipate freshly baked house-made cookies, a sparkling non-alcoholic beverage, and truffles to welcome you, along with a $50 voucher to tide-totable Coho Restaurant for a candlelit dinner for two. Then there’s the gourmet breakfast in bed every morning and a couples’ massage at a local spa with a special prenatal massage for the mom-to-be. They’ll even satisfy the prenatal cravings of the new mama with ice cream made just for her! Where else can you do a babymoon and receive an orca whale onesie for your new arrival?

Scottsdale, Arizona

Scottsdale’s downtown area, Old Town Scottsdale is beloved for its shopping, dining, art and culture. Go on a self-guided art tour, by foot or car, or hit one of the art museums. The McDowell Sonoran Preserve makes up one-third of Scottsdale’s landmass and offers nearly 225 miles of hiking and biking trails for all levels. Get a different perspective with a hot air balloon ride. When the cravings start, you can rely on the tableside guac at The Mission or comfort food at Citizen Public House. Farm & Craft features healthy, sustainable food in a community-stye atmosphere.

Where to stay: At CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa, there are daily wellness classes that are included in your stay, a Pre-Natal Nurture Massage, and an array of treatments at the 22,000 square foot spa. The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa has three golf courses, 900-foot lazy river, spa and the FlowRider, an adult pool.

Monterey County, California

This central coast area of California is known for areas like Big Sur, Pebble Beach and of course Monterey Bay, but also its amazing beaches and lesser-known towns like Marina and Salinas. Carmel Beach is well known for its dog-friendliness and is a short walk from the quaint, European-inspired town of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Then there’s the underrated Del Monte Beach. For a memorable babymoon take a surrey ride along the Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail where you can make stops along the bay for a breather or to grab a snack (Lover’s Point is a cute area with lots of shops/eateries/benches). Go whale watching in the bay. Before you need to worry about where to put a car seat, rent a classic car from Monterey Touring Vehicles and drive the coast.

Where to stay:

Two options in Carmel Valley come to mind. Carmel Valley Ranch, located on 500+ acres with an onsite organic farm and tons of activities –offers a Getaway for Two, Before Baby Makes Three package that includes a two-night stay, couples’ massage at the onsite spa, dinner for two at onsite Valley Kitchen, and a Creamery animals onesie/ stuffed animal for baby. Bernardus Lodge & Spa offers a Vineyard Romance package that could work well for babymooners, including a twonight stay, 100-minute couples’ spa treatment (which can be scheduled outdoors), in-room dream bath for two (with chocolate and red wine––mom-to-be can forego the latter), and a $150 credit for the onsite, award-winning restaurant, Lucia. In Monterey, Spindrift Inn is located on the historic Cannery Row and overlooks Monterey Bay and the Pacific Ocean. You’re minutes away from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, boutiques and restaurants.
