lifestyle in town The flapper girls are breaking all the rules! It is about time someone explain this new modern girl, who everybody craves to be. The flapper girl has come to U.S. and the men love it! But the flapper girl is in fact not “just” a girl; it is a new lifestyle of women. The flapper is a rouge wearing rebel, fast living, rule breaking, beautiful young woman who seems to be more a girl than a woman. This new lifestyle of women, drinking, smoking and dancing has even spread to the Negroes. Men hunger for these girls, because of this new sexuality. Never before have women showed their legs and gone away with it. They

cut of their long hair and some even dye their hair. These curly hairstyles, called “bobs” or “shingle cuts” have a certain way of making the girls look flirty and boyish.
But it is not just the hair; the dress’ has
changed too. In the beginning no one could have imagined a woman without a corset, but now the dress everyone is wearing is called a “step-in”. This allows the girls to dance and cycling. Who would have thought a woman would take the bike? The new step-in is just below the knee. They are sleeveless and rest on the hips. The flapper girl wear a lot of make-up too, so if you ladies want to be a flapper girl, just go for it! And don’t forget the rouge and lipstick! In fact just live a free life, party like you don’t care. Because this is what the flapper girl is all about. Free women who can do what men have only done before. A thing everybody knows, but doesn’t talk about, are the sexual relationships these girls are known for. They introduced “petting” in the back of parked cars, to the rest of us. You could properly say that this new modern woman is an outcome of

World-famous female entertainer: Josephine Baker Perhaps, you know the girl with the banana skirt? Now she is opening her own club in Paris. But how did a female entertainer get so famous? by journalist Josefine Jakobsen
Born Freda Josephine McDonald in St. Louis, Missouri, she later took the name Baker from her second husband, Willie Baker, whom she married at age 15. Last year, in 1925, Josephine Baker went to Paris where her comic ability and jazz dancing drew attention of the director of the Folies Bergère (cabaret musical hall, located in Paris). She instantly became a hit, and since then she has been one of the best-known entertainers in Europe. You probably heard of her before in context of her very exotic and sensual way of acting. Her way to the top Baker started performing as a street musician in St. Louis and soon to performing on the T.O.B.A vaudeville circuit (Theater Owners Booking Association). In 1922 she had a small part as a comedy chorus girl in the musical revue “Shuffle along”. The composers behind the musical were impressed with Baker, and wrote her a very special part for their next musical “Chocolate Dandies”. Paris French producers came to New York to find the new female entertainer. They wanted to cast her for an all-black musical revue in Paris. She got casted for the part in the musical “La Revue Negré” which played in 1925. She had two numbers in the musical, and one of them contained dancing “The Charleston” in a frantic way. But the hit of the show was the “Danse de Sauvage” accompanied by the male dancer Joe Alex. The banana-costume As written, Baker went to Paris in 1925 to dace at the famous Folies Begère. In the show Baker performed a dance that combined both comedy and eroticism were she wore only a skirt that looked like bananas. The show was a big hit and Baker came a major star in France based on this performance. What now? 5 the famous banana skirt girl is opening her own Now nightclub called “Chez Josephine” at 39 rue Fontaine inJosephine Baker in her famous banana-costume

The FASHIONs INFLUENCE in the BUSINESS industry By Elisabeth Friis Roaring Twenties. The industry is growing and so does the influences the women has for the socializer events in the business industry, or does it. How about being a women socializer in the industry of men, do we really have a thing to say or are we just there to look good? Men are setting up tons of rules, not for our intelligence quotient, but for our appearances. We are with them through bad and worse times and we even look good when we are in our worst cast scenario. But we do it with proud. They say (the men) that if we is there to make an effort in socializing and looking good, then it will pays off with all of their business between the men. Business is Fashion is Flapper is the new cocktail. Not a drinking cocktail, but a new-born woman. With that it suppose to mean a woman who drinks, dances and votes – of course based on her own opinions. She is a woman who cuts her hair, wears more make-up and is going to her own petting parties. She is giddy and taking risk.
