The MIC enters its 13th year as Europe’s premier youth tournament, and it promises to be even bigger and better than previous years.
Elite shall be entering for a third time, travelling with players born from 19972002.

The MIC’s alumni is testament to the quality of the tournament, with the likes of Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas, Gerard Pique, Juan Mata, Anderson, Lucas Leiva and the Da Silva brothers all featuring in the tournament during their rise through youth football.

The world’s top club sides, international sides and academies all congregate on the North East Coast of Spain each year to attend.
The tournament opens each year at Palamos stadium, where each club parades their club flag around the stadium. The ceremony concludes with
the hosts, Palamos FC, facing the Brazil national team in the Class A competition after the opening ceremony.
Past patrons of the tournament include Pep Guardiola, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, this year promises to have another famous football name.

On Wednesay 27th March the opening ceremony will take place at Palamos Stadium, which will be followed by the opening game. This game is usually between Palamos FC and Brazil Under 18’s.
Last year, Elite DC was seated next to Inter Milan’s Academy during the ceremony, and several of our players were involved in the opening parade, proudly carrying the Union Jack around the pitch alongside players from the likes of Ajax, Southampton FC and South Korea. This years tournament is expecting another batch of top class entrants, with the organisers revealing some very high calibre sides will be in attendance in the classes we have entered.
Each team is entered into a four team group, and depending on their results will progress to a consolation plate competition or the final classification rounds. Therefore each team is guaranteed 4 games, and can play a maximum of 7 games in the tournament. All of our squads will play 11-aside, with games taking place on either grass or artifical 3G surfaces.

We shall be taking four squads to compete, one team comprised of Under 10’s & 11’s, one of Under 12’s & 13’s and two ranging from Under 14’s to 16’s. What team the player is in will be dependendant on their age group. Please see team classifications as stated.
As the tournament allows teams to register two players born from July before the year of their age class, management will be liasing with coaches and Centre Managers to see if players are of the standard to play up an age group.

Training Weekend We have used some excellent facilities in previous years, visiting Lilleshall and the Alan Higgs Centre, home to Coventry City’s Academy, and this year will be no different as we are spending two days at Harlington Sports Centre.
This superb facility play host to Queens Park Rangers FC, and used to be the training base of Chelsea FC before their move to Cobham.

Elite will be supplying players with, not only MIC match kit but with tracksuit bottoms and a polo shirt to wear whilst travelling, and between games. - Training at the Harlington Sports Ground, Sipson Lane, Hayes, UB3 5AQ. - Two nights accommodation at the Holiday Inn Express on a full board basis - breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Mediterranean International Cup
- Flights from Heathrow or Gatwick to Barcelona on the 26th March. - Entrance into the tournament (Registration per team and per player). - Accommodation in quality hotels on a full board basis (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Players are also provided with water and fruit at all games. - Match day kit and travelling / training kit. - Transfers to and from the hotel to the airport, as well as the stadium and playing fields each day. - Nike gift and official t-shirt from the MIC.
We will need players to make their own way to the training weekend at the beginning of the tour, and they will need be collected on our arrival back in the UK at Heathrow on 31st of March.
Any excursions that teams undertake will be at an extra cost. We cannot guarantee that teams will have time to do the same activities due to differences in playing times and locations, so we have left those costs out of the fee.A trip to the Nou Camp, for example, would cost players around â‚Ź25-â‚Ź30 inclusive of coach travel.

To make a booking -
The tour works on a first come, first served basis. This year we have added a second Class B team to the travelling party as there was so much interest in last years Class B age group. We ask players to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
Following the initial payment to secure your son’s place on the tour, the remainder of the balance can be either paid all up front, or can be split into seperate amounts.

Competition
Elite DC is offering 2 half price places for the MIC 2013.
We want our players to showcase their creative skills and video making skills by putting together some footage of themselves in action.
We are looking for some sublime skills, or some hilarious goal celebrations, and the best two video entries we receive will earn a half price trip to the most prestigious youth tournament in Europe. Only two playes will be given the half price places, so if a team of you put a video together you will have to decide who gets the place should you be successful.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- We must state that Tours are not holidays and although we shall have time to enjoy our stay and the surroundings, players are expected to act as young professionals. - All Players are briefed each day and upon arrival on health & safety matters, rules, performance plans, times of meet, lights out, breakfast , lunch & dinners times etc.
- Staff to Player ratios are adhered to, with every team having 2 Head Coaches as well as several volunteers. Regular head counting takes place on entering and leaving any venue or meeting. One of the aims of the tour is to encourage responsibility and independence.
