Fashion Design Experience Aeropostale New York, New York | September 2012- December 2012 Women’s Bare Knitwear Design Intern Contributed in the women’s bare knitwear design department of Aeropostale. Researched product trends for upcoming seasons; developed design concepts by sketching design ideation, choosing color stories, trims and fabrics for the styles; created the technical packets in Excel to communicate new styles to the Aeropostale technical design team, production team, and the factory vendors, drew to-scale 2-D detail layouts for particular styles; produced detail mock-up samples for style’s details. Abercrombie & Fitch New Albany, Ohio | March 2012- June 2012 Female Outerwear Technical Design Intern Member of the female outerwear department team at Abercrombie & Fitch. Responsibilities included: prepped clothing samples for fittings; utilized programs such as GERBER and WedPDM to communicate technical design issues with garments to vendors/factories; created technical packets to communicate new styles for vendors to produce; examined garments for conformity with Abercrombie & Fitch brand; and confirmed clothing samples met specifications.

Before Dress A 60’s styled, A-line silhouette dress that was reconstructed from a dress sold in St. Vincent de Paul thrift store was inspired by the rock song “Paint it Black” by the Rolling Stones. The dress is red with black piping at the style lines resembles the design of a front door, with a real doorknocker at the front yoke. The dress is hand-painted black to fully render the song lyrics.

An adorable and playful young girl’s dress based off the Disney movie 101 Dalmatians. The dressed is based off the character of Pongo. In addition to the Dalmatian print fabric, the over-sized black Peter Pan collar with a pink under collar represents Pongo’s floppy ears and the red waist detail with gold button represents Pongo’s collar.
