so very many of the women around me also have different goals for their gift giving this year.

We want to shop small. We want to buy local. We want to buy products that are high quality, made with real hands, and built to last like the treasures we had handed down to us from our grandmothers.

We are done with too many things that add more noise to our lives. We want to give gifts that are carefully chosen. We want gifts with meaning. We want to be an encouragement and to pour joy into our homes and the lives of our loved ones. We want to fill our homes with GOOD. Good food Good gifts Good memories. This year, the Artisan Gift Guide focuses on Mother makers and treasuring our homes, our loved ones, and those still quiet moments.

I WAS TOTALLY GIDDY WITH EXCITEMENT OVER THE LIST OF WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL HEARTED WOMEN AND PLACES THAT I WANTED TO SHOP WITH AND SUPPORT THIS YEAR FOR CHRISTMAS.....AND THEN I STARTED NOTICING...

MEET RACHEL

I cannot say enough good about the beautiful dresses Rachel is designing. Side zippers for nursing? In a pretty fabric AND modest dress? AND it happens to be designed specifically to be flattering to the mommy body? I have been hunting for dresses like these for YEARS. It has been a fun journey watching Rachel's business and family grow.

Feminine, beautiful, and modest. That is my passion in clothing, and my designs are created with those very attributes in mind! I am a mom of 4 precious children and my designs are often nursing friendly and practical.

Two years or so ago, I found Erin and "Floret," her flower farm on Instagram. I meandered over to her beautiful website, joined one of her free online courses, and just fell in love with her work. Her flowers are as beautiful as her heart is. Erin has turned her passion for flowers into a heart centered business where she devotes her life to making other people’s lives more beautiful with flowers Floret offers limited quantities of specialty seeds, tools, and supplies at specific times of the year she also has a beautiful lineup of educational resources to help you grow the garden of your dreams Her website is so pretty, go just to revel in the flowers, but while you are there do check out the resources, workshops, and product availability at floretflowers.com. Personally, I'd far prefer a packet of seeds and the hope it contains than most other gifts!

Erin's gardening books are full of generous, hard to find, and game changing information from experience, as she grows and photographs each variety herself! she also teaches gardeners around the world in workshops, so this information is for everyone, not just her zone.

Don't think just trust your eyes. It's a common phrase that goes through my mind while putting brush to canvas.

I'm amazed by the patterns created by light; the way it changes what we know as ordinary and produces the most beautiful & unexpected colors. It's the moment where a green leaf is shown in the most vibrant blue or the sun warms grasses to a soft blush. Sometimes our mind, and what we know to be true, gets in the way of noticing those subtle shifts. So when I paint I like to turn off my mind and really see the beauty that's there Don't think just trust your eyes."

NEWLY DISCOVERED, BUT MUCH LOVED ALREADY

During the creation of my last painting collection, Love In A Blanket, I listened through as much of JJ's music as I could get my hands on Pandora, You Tube, you name it. I laughed. I cried. It blended with my heart cry as I painted and came out on paper. What I love most about JJ's music is that it comes from a place of deep love for God and her family and a joy in motherhood, butalso is so totally grounded in real life,,, the real struggles and disapointments, and the joys.

My Mother gave me a copy of Brighter" to read right after the twins were born. I had no brain space. I was hardly reading anything and had converted almost entirely to audio books (gasp!) but I read this one aloud to my older children while nursing the babies each morning, and it was a refreshment.
