From the editor: I was totally giddy with excitement over the list of wonderful, beautiful-hearted women and places that I wanted to shop with and support this year for Christmas.....and then I started noticing... so very many of the women around me also have different goals for their gift giving this year. We want to shop small. We want to buy local. We want to buy products that are high quality, made with real hands, and built to last like the treasures we had handed down to us from our grandmothers. We are done with things that add more noise to our lives. We want gifts that are carefully chosen. We crave gifts with meaning. We want to be an encouragement and to pour joy into our homes and the lives of our loved ones. During the creation of my current painting collection, Love In A Blanket, I listened through as much of JJ's music as I could get my hands on. Pandora, You Tube, you name it. I laughed. I cried. It blended with my heart cry as I painted and came out on paper. What i love most about JJ's music is that it comes from a place of deep love for God and her family and a joy in motherhood, butalso is so totally grounded in real life,,, the real struggles and disapointments, and the joys. Hannah Weidman is a writer and the creative director behind the beautiful jewelry brand 'Everyday Heirloom.' She works with her artisan husband, Jake, to create some truly unique and beautiful jewelry. I secretly fall in love with each new design that comes out ! Ohhh Oy! SO BEAUTIFUL! LAUREL CROWN This wreath pendant was initially hand-carved under a high-powered microscope to get the details just right. It was carved with 40 total leaves on the Laurel Crown, specifically chosen for the way the number 40 represents trial and victory throughout scripture. Let us be reminded that for those who run the race of faith, they will be given an imperishable crown (1 Corinthians 9:25); that for those who persevere through various trials, that they will be crowned with life (James 1:12 and Rev. 2:10).
KATHERINE DIAMOND AND PEARL NECKLACE ALMOND BLOSSOM A symbol echoing from the holy depths of the tabernacle in the form of the lamp stand (Exodus 25:31), to Jeremiah’s vision and God’s promise to perform his Word (Jeremiah 1:11-12), to Aaron’s blooming almond rod (Numbers 17:8), this necklace serves as an emblem of light and watchfulness.

My Mother gave me a copy of Brighter" to read right after the twins were born. I had no brain space. I was hardly reading anything and had converted almost entirely to audio books (gasp!) but I read this one aloud to my older children while nursing the babies each morning, and it was a refreshment. It doesn't beat you over the head and tell you, "Get your life together, Girl!" Instead, Amy comes gently along beside you and says, "We might not be wearing the same shoes, but I've walked this road before, and there's a meadow around the corner." There is hope, weary Mama. -EL

I tried to pick out my favorite one... but I just absolutely couldn't. These little moments that she has captured with her paint brush are PRECIOUS. Lore` lives with her husband and two daughters on a little farm in Vermont. I love how, with a little bit of paint, Lore` infuses daily life with quiet and warmth, and reminds us of the little moments when the idyllic fairytale of our girlhood dreams was real.
