TETRIS TECTONICS
summer 2014 CTBHU submission
1
Tetris Tectonics serves as a prototype to
respond to shoreline flooding brought upon by rising sea levels. Locations across the globe will host the mass customizated tetris tectonic globe atmosphere which house commercial, residential, vertical garden space, and research space in order to continue to thrive on Earth. Each voxelated mixed use pod has the ability to attach itself to a charging station within
the sphere, to recharge via solar power collected by the shell. The sphere is held up by a centralized magnetic core that is able to respond to the environment, and extend upwards of thousands of feet if reprieve from extreme weather is needed. These pods are necessary for continued research and analysis of the changing climate.

The world’s population taking refuge in tetris tectonics causes a strain on the food industry caused by the mass migration is easied through the emergence of vertical hydroponics.

residential Residental spaces become mobile, enabling free movement and transformable spaces within the exterior shell of the sphere unit. Water soon becomes contaminated by manmade products which disperse themselves through the flood waters. The sophisticated filtration system makes it possible for the residence to drink water without fear of illness or death

PARKLET ON PLEASANT summer 2015 design build, group studio
2
After our analysis of our first event, we started the beginning stages of prototyping elements which the community voiced they needed. The elements we focused out prototyping on were kitchen, playground, lighting, and community seating spaces. We recieved feedback on our prototypes at our second event. event2
event1 We started our research at our first event in the Pleasant Street community by asking three questions:
Who is Pleasant Street? What makes Pleasant Street pleasant? What could make Pleasant Street more pleasant?
event3
For our final community event, we developed nodes based on how the community responded to our various event two protoypes. After analysis of our event, we decided that having various nodes on the street to activate Pleasant Street was successful. We decided to build a parklet on Pleasant Street, in hopes that others may follow.

process: the molded forms used to produce the concrete molds were products of a vaccum formed plastic sheet adhered to a CNC mold made by a fellow student. After the installation of the vaccumed forms was removed, the panels were then utilized to produce concrete molds with varying techniques, concrete making materials.

Interested in having a design impact on the users of the abbott lobby building, beginning at the entry of the building, the challenge was to bring life through design into a sterile lobby within limited monetary means by way of ladditional lighting, as well as addressing the courtyard, which serves as the intersection between the four building complex.
