A project I had to design for my architecture studio in 2017 was a pavilion that would rep resent Romania in the international exposi tion at Astana, Kazakstan, in 2017. The theme was “Future Energy“ and it aimed to answer the question “How do we ensure safe and sustainable access to energy for all while re ducing CO2 emissions?” For this project, I was inspired by “wind” as semnificative and often overlooked source of green energy. I chose it because Romania has a potential in this area that is not properly taken advantage of. Wind currents and also a certain fluidity of the wind have influenced me in the conception of the pavilion. Although I propose wood for its construction, because of the solution I found, it doesn’t give the impession of a massive, opaque construction. The pavilion is made out of a series of “gates” that lets the light pass trough. In this way I chose to keep an “airy” feeling that I hope relates to the subject of “wind” that has inspired me. OFFICE SPACE PROJECT Studio Project 2017

In my forth year of architecture school I had the op portunity to propose a project for an ONG compa ny, Teach for Romania. They specialise in teaching children from poor, rural areas. I was restricted in terms of the changes I could bring to the space, since for them it was a rented one, and I also had to harmoniously intergrate a few pieces of furniture they had available. The theme was “Learning as a jurney”, and I chose different symbols that would represent that: a plane, a bicycle, a hot air baloon, a boat and a com pass rose. Each one was was assigned to a certain room/space, and so each area could have its own theme, but they would all be part of the same larg er theme. I chose pale, playful colours. The Princely Court in Târgoviște Restauration Studio Project 2017 In my forth year of study, for my restauration studio, I chose to propose a project for the The Princely Court in Târgoviște, Romania. The court was the residence of numerous liders in the area, and famous figures from history ruled from here. Although the first building was made in the 15th century, each ruler im proved and further developed the royal court. Today, there are 10 remaining buildings, and also ruins from others. The building for which I proposed a more detailed project didn’t had any roof and consisted mostly out of ruined walls. The floor was restaurated in a previous restauration, but I decided that it could be much better, so I proposed to change it. For my project, I chose not to touch the walls at all, and only to enphasize their aged beauty. I proposed a light grey travertine floor that has spotlight incrusted in it, that would cast light onto the ruined walls. I also suggested a pathway trough the cham bers, and in specific places I positioned instalation boxes. Theese instalation would be screen touch and have interactive presen tations and information about the Royal Court, the rules that lived here, etc. At night, they would also cast light. Next to the plan there is a minimalistic glass cube entrance, that I proposed to replace the present entrance to the basement of the building.
