the International GT Open 4
The International GT Open was created in 2006 by former sportscar driver Jesus Pareja. GT Sport has been the official organizer for a decade of the Spanish GT and F3 championships. In 2012, the series will enter its seventh edition, having enjoyed a growing success in terms of excellence and quality of entries, interest raised, exposure and geographical expansion. Today, the GT Open attracts a growing number of expert GT teams and drivers
5
TODAY THE GTOPEN IS
• The series offering the best GT cars performances • The best platform for GT2 and GT3 racing in the world • The GT championship with the best cost/exposure ratio • The GT series that first introduced time handicap, to be served in pits during driver change as the system to level performances, instead of measures affecting the car
• The main GT series where there are no complicated and confusing driver classifications
6
GTOPEN PHILOSOPHY
• Keep rules simple and stable • Maintain costs under control • Visit only top-level circuits • Provide premium TV/media coverage and LIVE internet streaming • Revive the traditional pro-am spirit of GT racing
“I am impressed by the level of quality and visibility that the International GT Open has reached on the international scene” Carlos Gracia, FIA Vice-President
