The Ellements team is at it again. Creating another issue of great Photography and Fashion. I am honored and elated to say that we have pushed the limit this issue, we have doubled the amount of features published in previous issues. This only states that we have won the confidence and support of the Photographers and Fashion professionals out there. This issue “Color & Fashion” boldly expresses the huge part color plays in fashion. It gives life, energy, motivation and is definitely appealing to the eyes. We step out just a little to show you how well the marriage of color and fashion really live happily ‘till death do they part’. As always, special thanks to all those who contributed to this issue; you make it what it is. Birthday wishes goes out to our Driector Brent Wellington and Photographer Jennifer Conley for celebrating their birthday in the month of March. Enjoy what we have put together for you, and I hope it will give you inspiration and satisfaction. Enjoy,

2011 Best Best Photo Sharing App Ever

for Android Ram Ramkumar

Manish Vaidya

20 year veteran behind many consumer and enterprise products. First time entrepreneur and is super excited about mobile space.

Entrepreneur, traveler, music lover, creative writer, photographer – love riding the Silicon Valley roller coaster!

What was the inspiration behind creating the app and why the apple & android platform was chosen? Streamzoo is about capturing what you see and what you experience in a visual way. The inspiration was to fulfill the need to share these visual captures in a fun, easy way. In many ways, mobile photos are the new status updates. We have always been fascinated by how mobile photography is going to change the world of capturing and sharing moments. What better way than to be the ones partly shepherding the change! And when you talk about social and sharing, you have to be platform agnostic. You go where the users are. Today users are favoring to engage in sharing on their iPhone, Android and the desktop web. So, we support those platforms. We will always be open to supporting any platform where there is growing demand.

26 www.ellementsmagazine.com

What is different, interesting, and advantageous of the Streamzoo app over other photo-sharing app. Streamzoo’s vibrant community is not simply a “photo sharing network”, but truly a “photo social game.” Beyond just editing and sharing their photos, Streamzoo users earn points for each upload, as well as for each “like” they receive from others. With these points, users of the community compete for top positions on the daily, weekly, and monthly Leaderboards. What’s more, active Streamzooers can unlock special badges for uploading particular types of images. Uploading 25 photos to the #sky stream (and receiving at least 10 likes on each photo) unlocks the Sky Walker badge, whereas receiving more than 300 likes on a single item unlocks the Like Hoarder badge. We also have seasonal badges that are unlockable for limited periods—the Twelve Days badge, for example, can be unlocked only during the holiday season.

And last but not least, Streamzoo mixes in video sharing along with the photos, and let’s not forget: we’re available on Android, iOS and the Web! Give information about the award that the app just received and how that has impacted the popularity of the app. Streamzoo won the 2011 Best App Ever Awards [http://bestappever.com/ awards/2011/winner/phts] in the Photo Sharing category, Android Division. It was quite exciting to win this award, of course, and it certainly helped bring more awareness to Streamzoo. What’s most amazing about the experience, though, was how our users rallied and drove each other to go vote for their “favorite app” on the awards site. And after winning it, the buzz and excitement throughout the community with everyone congratulating each other were awesome to watch as well.

Will the app be available on any other platforms e.g. Blackberry, Windows phone? What are the great updates or features to come in the future? Support for Windows Phone is in our roadmap. We’re closely watching the platform roll out and grow, and hope to make a release in the near future. As for our current iPhone and Android apps, the next release will come with something our users have been demanding for a long time: a longer description. In fact, we’re splitting up the description into two fields, the title and the body. Users will now be able to describe their uploads in greater detail, and with integration with Tumblr and other services (Flickr coming soon), Streamzoo posts can easily be a way to microblog or photoblog on the go. What are some of the feedback you guys have gotten from the users and the wider community? So far the feedback has been very positive, especially from the users. Users love the fact that they are able to share their photos with “friends” from around the world. And as our community grows and

reaches more countries, we’re seeing a greater influx of talented photographers and unique styles of photography. Of course, the users always ask for more filters, more borders, and other functionality, and we try to meet the demand as fast as we can. Is there a particular type of photo genre that you guys encourage? If yes, why? We encourage all types of photography, and there is no single genre that we push for. Some users insist on uploading only mobile photos taken with their phones, and others upload mostly DSLR shots that have been edited and processed on their computers before being brought into Streamzoo. Both types have their places in photography, and Streamzoo welcomes all! What interesting twists or uses has any user or group of users brought to the app that you guys didn’t envision in the onset? It’s been really interesting to see community groups in various countries pop up around Streamzoo. With users all over

the world, Streamzoo has enthusiast groups in the U.K., Indonesia, and elsewhere. These engaged users are organizing their own meetups in their respective countries, starting Twitter accounts dedicated to promoting their group members’ photos, and more. Of course, we encourage these user groups whenever we can, and our team members meet up with our users when possible. The next Streamzoo “meetup” will be in Barcelona, during the Mobile World Congress. We will be there for the conference and exhibition, but hope to meet up with our Spanish users who live in or near the city. We are constantly updating our Facebook, Twitter, and blog! Those places are the easiest ways for users to reach us if they need help with anything or would like to leave us any suggestions. We have contests running every month and we also pick a few lucky photos every week as a “favorite” and post it on our Streamzoo page. Users can follow us @Streamzoo on Twitter and Facebook. Our blog is at blog.streamzoo.com.

It’s a Colourful (Pastel) World

By: Stephi Chen and Bronwen Summers Although the winter wasn’t too harsh this year, many of us can’t wait until the sunny skies and blooming flowers return. This year’s fabulous range of springtime makeup and clothing will absolutely melt any remaining winter away. This spring, we suggest embracing the colours of nature and flowers in your makeup and wardrobe. Check out our sneak preview of the amazing pastel themes that will certainly make you forget that winter ever came. It’s never too early to start planning your spring look.

Introducing Bronwen Summers…

Bronwen Summers originated from the Theatrical city of Stratford, Ontario. Wanting a unique way to express herself, she went to school for makeup artistry and special effects at Complections International. Her work and creativity is greatly influenced by the glamorous Hollywood era – the time of black and white films. Bronwen truly believes in beauty in every form, even in imperfections. She has worked as a freelancer for bridal events, theatrical portraits, photo shoots, runways, and much more. Here, Bronwen shows us how to dive into this year’s spring trends through the colourful world of pastels.

To truly create beauty you must be able to create its opposite.

Makeup: Soft Pastel Colours The influence of this makeup trend stems from the blossoming of a spring flower. It mimics the soft colours of nature. The pale pink is feminine and complimentary; it does not demand attention yet receives it. Overall, the makeup is simple, light, and fresh. Tips: Simply use a sheer gloss, lipstick, or stain, and smudge onto your lips. Even better – find a cream blush that you can use on your lips and cheeks. Keep the eyebrows au naturel. A few coats of mascara and you will be ready no matter what the weather might bring!

Hair Soft flowing curls compliment the fresh, pretty makeup. It conveys simplicity and carefreeness. Tips: Tousled hair will add a little shabby to the chic. Use a large barrel curling iron and curl the ends of your hair, then run your fingers through it to loosen them up and to give lots of bounce. Add a shine product and a little hairspray before heading out.

Bring spring into your ensemble through accents of patterns and floral designs. Simply add patterned earrings, shoes, or a floral scarf or bow tie. Contrast this by pairing them with nude, khaki, tan, or brown apparel. Think nature! Step into spring with pastels! The soft, feminine colours brighten the skin and mimic the colours of flowers that are soon to blossom, such as pink roses and geraniums. Compliment this look with gentle, flowing hair. Tips: Don’t forget to accessorize! You can accentuate the beauty of spring in your ensemble by adding accessories such as the Headmistress bowtie and turban in the photos. 45 www.ellementsmagazine.com
