In the last few decades, we have been made aware that human knowledge is growing at exponential rates. Thanks to Moore’s Law, our exposure to data and information has increased at alarming rates. Since the beginning of the information age, the world has drastically changed. This leaves us with the question – is our powers of creativity evolving along with this data acceleration in our world?

How we Express Creativity We humans are very unique in many ways, and we are also very smart in many ways as well. We are actually able to acquire and retain very large amounts of information over our lifetimes. Along with that, we can also learn and master several skills and activities. However one of the most incredible abilities we possess is the way we can use creativity and innovation to express our behaviors and thoughts – both in our personal life and through various human cultures. We see this manifested through story-telling, through arts, through the design and creation of decorations and ornaments, through our unique sense of humor, through problem-solving, and many other ways.

Finding Our Own Brand of Creativity Creativity will typically be expressed beyond the norm of habits and patterns. And it is constituted through a capacity to combine ideas within an environmental stimulation. So if we find a novel solution to a prevailing problem, then we are acting creatively. And when someone imagines the ways things could be is manifesting their own brand of innovation. Or when they can clearly share the words or images they see in their minds – then they are expressing their own brand of creativity. This leaves us with the question of whether or not creativity is evolving along with our culture. Listed below are some recent essays about the current state of creativity:

Can creativity be taught? We refer to the notion of divergent thinking or the capacity to generate multiple alternative solutions as opposed to the one correct solution… The evidence accrued over the last 50 years does suggest that divergent thinking, as assessed through open ended tests such as consequences and alternative uses, where responses are scored for fluency (number of responses), flexibility (category shifts in response), originality (uniqueness of responses), and elaboration (refinement of responses), does represent a distinct capacity contributing to both creative problem solving and many forms of creative performance. 5 Mind-Bending Experiments That Show Where Creativity Is Headed Next Deep learning isn’t just being used to generate lots of creepy, computer-made faces–it’s also generating creepy 3D models of faces. Researchers from the University of Hong Kong created a program called DeepSketch2Face that converts any line drawing of a face into a 3D model of it. It looks like it could be an animator’s dream, enabling near-effortless creation of models, but right now the researchers have positioned it more for amateurs to use in the creation of cartoons, social media avatars, and caricatures. 5 MindBending Experiments That Show Where Creativity Is Headed Next

Unleash Your Creativity in 4 Easy Steps If you’re used to being naturally creative it can feel confining or false at first to quantify creative thinking into stages. To learn creative problem solving (CPS), you have to apply the tools from each stage in a linear fashion. It wasn’t my style and I demanded that the graphic should be a three-dimensional spiral. But once I accepted that I wanted to learn it, using CPS really did supercharge my ability to be creative on demand. Over time, my productivity soared.
