We are often asked “WHY do senior pictures at Ellen’s look better than other studios?”.
The answer is simple. Ellen didn’t just pick up a camera and call herself a professional photographer. She has spent years learning how to light and pose her subjects to make them look their best. Portraits are so much more than just putting a card in a camera and snapping away hundreds of photos. To have great quality, your photographer must know all about editing and retouching final photos, too. Combine that with state of the art equipment and the fact we take the time to do it right; that’s why you never see a bad photo from Ellen’s.
Ellen guarantees that she will do her best to make you look great! You will pay either the session fee or a deposit on the day that you call to schedule the session.
Viewing Your Proofs: Proofs will be ready in 7 days and we have 2 options for you. Option #1 10 Day online Gallery... We even make it easier to afford for your portraits by providing a convenient payment option. The photo shoot fee is paid when you book your appointment. A $300 down payment is due to put your images in an online gallery. This down payment is applied in full toward whatever photographs you end up choosing, and is non-refundable. After you pick out your photos, any balance beyond the down payment can be divided in two, with half down at the order and the balance when everything is picked up. Option #2 View your proofs at our studio... We will set up a time to view your proofs at the studio in about 7 days. At your scheduled ORDER appointment anyone involved in the decision process should come with you. The day you view your proofs and place your order you will need to pay at least half of your total amount due. You must be prepared to make this payment at this time, if not then please call to reschedule.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR Look for these signs of quality in senior portraits. If a photographer doesn’t meet these standards, don’t waste your time, don’t waste your money. Any real professional photographer should be capable of this. 1. The background should match your outfit and the look of the portrait. It should complement you, never overpower you.
4. A flattering pose is a MUST! Proper posing can make you look your best. A bad pose will make you look larger.
2. Good lighting is incredibly important! A professional photographer knows how to work the light and make sure you and your eyes look great.
5. True professional equipment captures more beautiful detail than amateur grade is capable of. Ellen uses high definition cameras and top of the line lenses for the best possible quality.
3. Look for great color. You want your skin tones to be warm and pretty. Poor color can make you look sick or unattractive. Girls should have beautiful, creamy skin. Boys should not be soft, but blemish free.

SENIOR PHOTO SHOOTS The first step to loving your senior pictures is to pick the Photo Shoot you want. We have our in-town studio, lots of outdoor areas and go almost anywhere! We suggest one traditional outfit (a parent pleaser!) and several that match your style and personality. Make sure you include props, such as sports gear, musical instruments, or other items of interest. After booking your photo shoot, we will mail you our exclusive Style Guide which will give you great ideas and tips on clothing, styles, props and make-up that ensure the best senior pictures. Check out our website at www.ellensphoto.com to see more samples from each photo shoot. Call our studio at 620-675-2275 to schedule your appointment and discuss any ideas you have. Please have a credit card ready, you will put down $100 to reserve your time (any remaining credit will go towards your purchase of photos.) If you would like a tour of our studio prior to your photo shoot, just let us know. We can review your ideas and offer additional suggestions. We have packages for you help you buy your pictures in the most affordable way. A minimum required purchase (see below) or advance (towards your order) is due on the day you arrive for your photo shoot. Once you have placed your order, half of the remaining balance is due at that time, then the final payment is due when you pick up your order. If you prepay the entire balance at the time of the order, I have some bonuses for you. I assure you that you will love your images. I guarantee my photography and products. Your advance sits as credit on your account toward your purchases. You can spend more, but you can’t spend less than the minimum associated with your session. If you are uncomfortable with the minimum advance, please inquire for other options.

Ellen does travel sometimes, if her schedule allows, to take senior pictures at your special place. Please inquire. 1. Ellen only photographs one senior at a time. This makes the session all about you! If you schedule with a friend you will take turns. This allows more time for changing. 2. All sessions include black and white at no extra charge. 3. All finished photos will be fully retouched for blemishes at no additional charge. There is a small fee for braces removal and glass glare removal. 4. Outdoor portraits are included (weather permitting). 5. Ellen’s studio is state of the art with modern equipment and lighting. 6. Ellen loves her job-that is making YOU look your absolute best!
