RACEDAYS AT ELLERSLIE SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER 2011 All eyes will be on New Zealand when one of the world’s biggest sporting events kicks off in Auckland at Eden Park on 9th September 2011. Auckland is the major hub for the Tournament, playing host to the Opening Ceremony and match, the Final, both Semi Finals, the Bronze Final and a number of pool matches. But it’s not just all about the rugby. A huge line up of arts, food & wine, culture, heritage, entertainment, business, lifestyle, and other sporting events are planned to run alongside the match schedule. And that’s where Ellerslie comes in, with three great events on during the Tournament, providing the perfect opportunity to host your overseas visitors or most valuable clients and experience the style, glamour and celebration of thoroughbred racing at its best! Saturday 24th September 2011 Life Education Trust Day Right in the thick of the pool play, this Frenchthemed, family-focused day kicks off a month of celebrations. Vive la fete with a host of free entertainment, as well as Ellerslie’s own “party central” Whips n Spurs a la Moulin Rouge. Fantastic hospitality packages and a French flavour help set the scene as New Zealand takes on France that evening!
Sunday 16th October National Jumps Day Set right in the thick of Semi Finals action, all eyes will be on Ellerslie to witness horses tackle the toughest and most spectacular Steeplechase course in the world, before the spotlight turns on Eden Park that night.
