Moorlands Residence - 1972
Moorlands, located on Coronation Drive Auchenflower, was listed on the QLD Heritage Register on 21st August 1992. The current residence was built by Arthur Smith in 1892 for the Mayne family after the death of Patrick Mayne in 1865. It is said that on 3 June 1892 the daughter of Patrick & Mary Mayne laid the foundation stone for the new residence, on top of a time-capsule which contains newspapers of the day. Moorlands remained the property of the Mayne family until 1940 when it was bequeathed to the University of Queensland.
