Biker Letters Hello friends from El Motero magazine. I want to congratulate you for the great work you are doing with the biker community. I have been following them since the first edition and it has been quite enriching. Once I had the opportunity to speak with Hiroshi and I did not know all the work that this magazine has. But, in spite of everything, he took some time and met me to talk about motorcycles... and what a passion it shows when he talks about it. I really did not believe that we met, he always says that he has open doors, many say it, but at the moment of truth... it’s complicated. This was not the case. Passion, commitment and dedication is what I see in this company. But what I see in the person behind this goes further. Despite the

problems, he is always willing to meet more bikers, he always receives us with a smile and is always willing to share his knowledge. In exchange for this knowledge, he only charged me a cup of coffee and a cigarette. I could’nt believe it. The funny thing is that, after all the time we were talking, he has not tried to sell me anything. He has not asked me to continue the magazine, he has not asked me to follow his networks... we only talk about motorcycles and he showed me a couple of handling and mechanics techniques. Things that, for me, really work. I am really surprised by the work they do, they certainly care about us and they are always investigating to teach us the truth about motorcycles and our safety. The councils that write in the magazine or tell us, put them into practice.

He taught me that he really cares, he sees us as his family and cares about us. He spends a lot of time on this and does nothing else. Certainly this is his life, his passion and his work. I hope some day to be able to share with Hiroshi or his team the adventures they have without planning. That yes, if someday I meet them in the street and go on the road, I’m sure that I hit them under their codes; without telephones or watches, only the motorcycles and the road, where the destination takes us. Once again greetings to all and what a great job they are doing. A hug.

Noti-Flash MV Agusta Superveloce 800 Gold Series MV Agusta has announced that it will soon begin production of the Superveloce 800 concept presented last November at EICMA. The delivery of the first 300 units of the series “Superveloce 800 Gold Series” is expected by March 2020. The Superveloce engine has been completely remapped to improve power characteristics, and the entire exhaust system has been redesigned based on the classic 3-1-3 design. The tubes are placed asymmetrically, with two on the right and one on the left, characteristics that recall the technical and aesthetic solutions that MV Agusta has traditionally adopted over the years.

How was the Moto Guzzi V85 TT? As for the goal of being able to accommodate 95% of motorcyclists, motorcycle experts present that day ranged between 162 and 188 cm, had different body weights and rolling skills. Nobody complained about being tight or being difficult to handle. This means that the bike opens the Moto Guzzi brand to a whole range of bikers, instead of those who are only in the legacy. Despite producing “only” 80 hp and 80 Nm of torque, the engine was truly flexible and, anyway, we could not use all that power in the real world. Instead, what was important was how the energy was fed and how it decreased when we left the accelerator.

6

To be succinct, Moto Guzzi did it well. It is even more impressive when you remember that Guzzi is the “heritage” arm of the Piaggio group and this is his first double purpose for more than twenty years. “Does this mean that other manufacturers need to raise the alarm with the launch of the V85 TT?” I asked Gianluca Fiume, the President and CEO of Piaggio Vietnam. “Those who are not afraid of us yet. But we hope to scare them as soon as possible, “he replied with a smile. “The emotions that our brands give are incomparable.” Well answered because Moto Guzzi will use the bike as a platform for similar ones.

The architecture of the chassis, the engine and the brake system are derived directly from the fast MV Agusta F3 800, with some slight changes that improve the performance and driving experience of the new Superveloce 800 Gold Series. Both the headlamp and the tail light are LEDs: the first is a sophisticated double-function LED polielipsoidal unit. The daytime running light, also LED, is integrated into the cover of the new instrument cluster. The driving position, the seat height and the handlebar are adapted directly from the F3 800 to ensure ergonomics and maximum driving efficiency. The footrests are adjustable and allow the pilot to customize their position.

The 5 millionth motorcycle produced by Harley Davidson On May 8, Harley Davidson made history when the 5 millionth motorcycle produced left the assembly line in York, Pennsylvania, and entered the road. It was a Heritage Classic, bought by Walter Barlett in Wausau, Wisconsin. The history of the Harley-Davidson Vehicle Operations began just before World War II, when the US Navy commissioned the Milwaukee-based factory to respond to the urgent demand for anti-aircraft weapons. In 1973, production of Harley-Davidson motorcycles was moved

from Milwaukee to York with the Ironhead Sportster and Shovelhead FL models that are mass produced there. The York factory still produces motorcycles today, for the United States and the rest of the world. Although the good old Walter Barlett fits the classic stereotype of Harley-Davidson customers, the company keeps up to date; We present the LiveWire, your first electric production motorcycle. It is the first of a line of electric motorcycles that will change the future of Harley-Davidson, with the classic V-twin engine that will no longer be the one that makes Harley, a Harley.

New Indian Flat Track Racers If there is something that Indian Motorcycle has done well, it is killing in the flat track races. The company has competed with the FTR 750 there with great success, and now wants to do the same with the FTR 1200. The FTR 1200 Hooligan bikes that you see are the bikes that the company will use. They are highly modified versions of the FTR 1200. According to Indian, the company worked closely with S & S Cycle, its official partner for dirt track racing, to build these two motorcycles. S & S took the motorcycles and modified them with new exhausts, license plates instead of the headlight, new handlebars, removable front brake, adjustments of the suspension for

the driving position and numerous measures to save weight. Foll Holligan seem to be ready to face any dirt track in the world at excessively high speeds. Special parts and components include a FOX FTR 1200 mono-shock absorber, a shorter S & S swing arm, Protaper Pro series bars, a lighter lithium ion battery, carbon fiber racing seat tail, Roland wheels 19-inch Sands Design and DT3 flat track race tires from Dunlop. While the regular version and street production of the FTR 1200 pumps my blood, these flat-trackready machines are the real deal. It will be interesting to see if they can have the same success as the FTR 750. 7

Gloves: How to choose them for the motorcycle?

The study of the International Union for the Defense of Motorcyclists (2016) shows us that 83.3% of the gloves analyzed do not comply with the certification norm for the protection of bikers in Spain. 8

Passive security Gloves are for bikers one of the most important safety elements that exist, practically at the height of the helmet, although they are not yet required by law. Regardless of the season and the ambient temperature, being fully equipped is essential if we want to ensure our body against possible falls. In case of accident, the hands are usually the first parts of the body that touch the ground so choosing ones that cover us and protect well is essential. We should not only consider issues such as size or design. When choosing our motorcycle gloves we must assess our driving style, our motorcycle model, the materials of which they are composed and their level of protection. If you are thinking about buying new ones or renewing those that have already been worn out, here you can find some ideas that will help you to get rid of doubts.

How do these gloves feel? It is true that part of the ‘outfit’ biker must identify us and represent how we are, but above this is our security. Stylish, sporty or fashionable gloves can be a good choice as long as our level of protection is our priority. That because? Given the risk of a fall, instinctively the palms of the hands will go directly to the ground, and in the case of going without gloves, they literally skin themselves.

••Size L: Between 22.5 and 24 cm. ••Size XL: Between 24 and 25.5 cm. ••Size XXL: Between 25.5 and 26 cm.

Summer, winter... And for halftime? If you already have your own clear, you must enter to assess for what time of year they are oriented. Our safety is just as important no matter how hot or cold it is and we should never dispense with our gloves for this reason. Normally there are gloves of short cane and long cane, which could be recommended for summer and winter respectively. With rain the long cane, in addition, can be introduced inside the sleeves of the jacket to avoid that the water slips to its interior. Therefore the long rod is better prepared to shelter and protect in winter, they are thicker gloves and padded, made of insulating materials and membranes, waterproof and non-slip that we will see later. In any case they are also breathable to shelter without making us sweat. As a negative point, they feel the same as when you step on the accelerator of the car with mountain boots, you lose touch by composing a thick and stiffer layer.

That is why our first point to consider should be size. The glove should be tight but without squeezing the hand because it is possible that, in this way, we cut the circulation, lose touch and get cold more easily. On the other hand, too loose gloves, as with the helmet, will not protect us and will hinder our movements on the handle and controls. To choose your size measure the contour of the hand at the height of the knuckles, with fingers together, discarding the thumb. In this way you can find out which of these sizes is yours: ••Size XXS: Between 16 and 18 cm. ••Size XS: Between 18 and 20 cm. ••Size S: Between 20 and 21 cm. ••Size M: Between 21 and 22.5 cm. 9

In summer, on the other hand, gloves are equally necessary. There are more ventilated models, soft texture and short cane that also maintain the basic protections, although it is true that the resistance to abrasion is lower. They can be both leather and textile, with reinforced areas in the palm of the hand and a touch that prevents friction, in addition, the knuckles should also be protected with semi-rigid reinforcements. For autumn and spring we also find polyvalent solutions, with a longer life and lighter than winter, but thicker than summer. They are usually synthetic and of good quality leather, with a medium reed and waterproof membrane, although there are different levels of protection

The material is not just a matter of comfort Of course not, in fact, the components and materials that make up the glove will be the main reason why these protect us from abrasions. The skin is usually really tough and comfortable, one of the preferred materials among bikers, despite its price. They can be beef and kangaroo, among others, although the most 10

resistant and durable is leather. In addition textile gloves exist, more economic and with a more varied and different typology. Among them we find those of sanity or nylon, waterproof and with an optimal resistance to tearing; the Gore-tex with a breathable and waterproof membrane against large amounts of water; D-Dry models in addition to the above characteristics favor greater evaporation of sweat, with materials also used in elite sports teams; We also find Widstopper gloves in polyester and polyamide waterproof, comfortable and breathable. Another important factor in the manufacture of the glove is the filling. The glove should feel compact, without loosening and padding, in addition to having enough elasticity to allow any movement of the wrist and fingers without difficulty. Have you already done with yours? Well now you just have to make sure that they complement each other perfectly with your bike and your driving style, so that your safety and your attitude at the wheel go hand in hand. And never better said.

CE GLOVES STANDARDS Standard EN 13594 The standard EN 13594 “Protective gloves for motorcyclists” defines the precise and reproducible framework based on scientific accidentology studies for the performance of tests for the certification of protective gloves for motorcyclists. The 2003 version of the EN 13594 standard was replaced by the EN 13594: 2015 version; it no longer refers only to “professional motorcyclists” but now applies to all users of two-wheelers. The gloves are designed to protect motorcyclists from external elements without unduly reducing the dexterity of the user operating the controls and switches of the motorcycle. In addition, the gloves are designed to provide mechanical protection of the hands and wrists in the event of an accident. 2 levels of performance for the gloves are specified: Level 1: minimum level to ensure effective protection in the event of an accident and provide an optimum level of comfort for all types of driving. Level 2: designed to provide a greater protection performance in relation to the type of driving.

Auxiliary Lights: All you need to know

Driving a motorcycle with the common headlight is usually annoying. This is not an accusation of OEM headlights as a result of a combination of anti-glare laws, moderate light outputs and the corrosive effects of headlights that close and worst of all, wet roads. 12

It is mainly to support the main light in these conditions that you are looking for an auxiliary light or two for more vision after dark. And just like having your headlights on makes you more visible, having auxiliary lights on during the day makes your motorcycle stand out and has a positive safety implication. Drivers tend not to collide with things they can see.

good, but there is always the danger that you will overdo it.

Here is a quick introduction on how these lights work, what they are for and how to find the one you like.

There are two reasons. All the front lighting is strictly controlled by the regulations. This is because they are the most powerful lights of the vehicle and can easily blind the traffic that comes, which is more than a nuisance, it is really dangerous. Auxiliary lights are usually marked “for off-road use only”, which means they do not comply with the laws.

The true purpose is to fill in the gaps left by the main lighthouse and have a source of backup lighting. Both apply more to the long distance biker and the adventurer than to any other type of pilot. The second one is easy to understand. LED headlights rarely fail. But the incandescent headlights are more fragile, although the current failure rates are very low. And in that case, a second set of lights could be enough to take you home.

What makes them offer more lighting compared to the main lights?

for their quality. This quality is determined by light, power, consistency and reliability. The variation in the price between the top LED chips and the worst is night and day. But small LEDs produce surprisingly bright lighting with low power consumption, very low failure rates and little heat production. This means that it is easy to produce a light capsule with two, three, four, six or more LED chips in reflector housings that produce extremely bright beams that operate at negligible wattages and amperage. Now more powerful light sources are also available, but the price range of auxiliary LED light is difficult to overcome at this time.

Different types of auxiliary lights?

Why do I need auxiliary lights? If you travel a lot inside the city, mainly during the day, you do not need them. However the additional lights serve a purpose. The most superficial of them is the appearance of your motorcycle. Adding these to a gigantic adventure looks

The second is the cost. The halogen headlamp respecting the law is very cheap and in proportion to the cost of the motorcycle. However, when it comes to adding lights, your budget may or may not be proportional to the cost of the motorcycle.

Yes, but how did they become so powerful? The light market as accessories was slow until the LEDs arrived. The reason lies in how they are made. The big brands produce millions of LEDs that are classified (and then valued)

In general, lights are classified into four classes. Floods, spots, hyperspots and hybrids. These classifications are based on the type of light pattern they produce.

1. Hyperspot The Hyperspot are the specialists among auxiliary lights. Throw a very narrow beam, you will read a figure as 5 ° or 6 ° as the description of the beam of light. At a short distance, as if you were pointing at a wall, you will see an extremely bright and well-defined beam of circular light. The narrow beam projects light over great distances. A beam of 3,000 to 3,500 lumens will usually carry a distance of 1 lux of 600 mesters or more. The really impressive, can usually reach 900 to 1,000 meters. These lights are excellent for traveling on high-speed roads, when you want early warnings of what is to come.. 13

Usually, hyperspot are the last lights you get. This is because the specialized nature of the beam of light means that it does not illuminate anything else, except what is in front of the light. Focusing a hyperspot is critical, from the perspective of lighting, as well as in terms of the risk of dazzling oncoming traffic.

2. Spot Beam The beam of light is a great source of confidence for the biker. It projects a beam of 10 째 to 15 째 that shoots at a good distance and is not as narrow as the hyperspots. There is a well-defined circle of light, but it is a remarkably larger circle and it reaches the ether a little less. A beam of 3,000 lumens can easily strike 300 to 400 meters. The wider circle of light, once again, means that focusing the beam of light is important for its usefulness and you must be careful not to dazzle oncoming traffic. Most approach instructions suggest aligning the beam of the Spot Beam with the motorcycle but 14

submerging so that, at 100 feet or 30.5 meters, the beam sinks 2 inches or 5 cm in height from the center of the light .

3. Floods As its name suggests, a beam of Floods projects an extremely large circle of light in front of the main light. This is good to fill the gaps that the low light of the motorcycle could have. The projectors can be extremely bright and project very large beams of light, you will see numbers like 80 째 or 120 째. Focusing a beam of Floods is to minimize glare for oncoming traffic, since the wide nature of the beam means that the focus of the exact light unit is not crucial to the operation.

4. Hybrids Hybrids usually use multiple LEDs configured with a combination of spot and flood lenses to produce a beam that balances distance and

width. These are, perhaps, the most useful lights to add to a motorcycle with weak headlights, because their job is to produce a reasonably wide light with a significant distance. Some of the smarter lights will give you the option to change the options so you can choose how many LED units that point forward are functioning as flood or spot, depending on how you would like to help the motorcycle headlight.

What you’re looking for is a blank GPS socket or a secondary (unused) cigarette lighter outlet. If you can match the connectors (there are many standard types in all OEM ranges), you can use the wiring of the motorcycle as designed without any type of cut or splice. Your choice is a PosiTap connector, perfectly drilling a small hole in the switching power isolation. It’s an ingenious solution, but you can still be accused of cutting an OEM cable for warranty purposes.

Factors that I should consider when selecting lights for my motorcycle Unless you’re turning your motorcycle into a Christmas tree, add the lights for a purpose. If you go slowly down a road, you will need Foods. If you are looking for a long distance vision at night, you will want a hyperspot or a spot depending on your specific requirements. That’s the first thing, what is the light supposed to do for you? Then comes the logistics of it. That’s amperage and wattage and if your motorcycle’s electrical system can handle the load. Then, based on these two considerations, the budget and aesthetic preferences, the current brand and model selection.

Where should the lights be placed to obtain maximum illumination and protect them during crashes? Most LED lights do not include full assembly hardware and you will have to shop separately for that. However, most good brands include wiring, instructions and switches. The most difficult thing is finding a power line that the lights can use. Most connect them to the battery directly for power with an inline fuse. But all of them need switched power. That is a power line that the light can access, which is only connected when the key is on. This part has to be attacked with care. If you cut or wire a cable, you could void your warranty. On most touring bikes, you already have improved alternators for increased energy consumption.

Floods work well almost anywhere because the lighting is a large, uniform hemisphere that projects from the capsule. But higher positions are better because they create smaller shadows. Shadows can hide a danger behind a ridge. Spots are easier to use mounted below because the chances of blinds are lower. Hyperspots even more. On a motorcycle with a complete crash bar, you can make sure that all the light capsules are inside the bar, so that the bar receives the greatest impacts in a crash. 15

Brake fluid:

What do you need to know about this topic?

When we press the lever or brake pedal it is the pump that causes a multiplier effect of the force exerted and this is thanks to the brake liquids moving with a certain pressure through the ducts. 16

The size of the piston can vary the multiplier effect of that force. The ducts, if they are those of series (Teflon), in an intense use of the brakes, they bulge making decrease the pressure transmitted by the liquids. Also the rubber or the Teflon is porous to the steam of water of the atmosphere, mixing itself with the liquid of brakes and making lose to this part of its properties. The brake fluid has its importance, since it is responsible for transmitting pressure in the hydraulic brake system having to withstand very high temperatures without evaporation, otherwise, it would adversely affect the system.

What requirements does a good brake fluid have to meet? The first thing that a brake fluid must fulfill is that it is able to maintain its characteristics during the time of use. It must also withstand low temperatures and maintain its degree of fluidity. It must have in its composition substances that “tolerate” a certain degree of humidity coming from the atmosphere. In its formula, there can be components that deteriorate the materials where they act, such as gums. But it also has to include elements that do not harm metals such as steel.

What I have said is precisely what the different regulations that regulate brake fluids. Basically they are the norms ISO 4925, SAE J1703 and the FMVSS 116 more known by all like DOT. This DOT defines the qualities that brake fluids should have: ••Equilibrium boiling point ••Wet boiling point ••Viscosity ••Comprehensibility ••Protection against corrosion ••Chemical compatibility There are basically two types of brake fluid: those with a glycol base and those with a silicone base. We can really use one or the other but never mix them. If we want to change from one to another, it is necessary to clean the system with a jet of water before proceeding to change it. 17

3.

DOT5

•• Its equilibrium boiling point is 260º C and its wet boiling point is 180º C.

1.

DOT3

•• The boiling point of equilibrium is about 200° C, at higher temperatures the vapozation of the liquid or steam loock occurs. •• Its wet boiling point, that is, the boiling temperature of the liquid, with 3.5% water in it, is 140º C. It is the brake fluid used in most vehicles, it is the cheapest and you can really buy it anywhere but it absorbs water easily (hydroscopic) and this, apart from causing the 18

loss of the properties of the liquid with the subconsistent effect on the brakes, it facilitates the appearance of the corrosion of the braking system.

•• It does not absorb water and will not “peel” the paint, but as the water is not absorbed, it ends up in the bottom of the system causing corrosion of the calibrator. This tends to be damped with the corrosion inhibitors that carry liquids. It can not be mixed with the DOT3, DOT4 or DOT 5.1, in fact most of the problems that the DOT5 has are due to improper mixing.

2. DOT4

4. DOT5.1

••Its equilibrium boiling point is 230º C and its wet boiling point is 155º C.

••Its equilibrium boiling point is 270º C and its wet boiling point is 180º C.

••It does not absorb water as easily as DOT3 and its boiling point is higher making it more suitable for a more intense use of the brakes since they will reach a very high temperature. This is because it contains additives that prevent, to some extent, the effects of water. However it is more expensive and can also cause corrosion.

••DOT5.1 is a glycol-based liquid such as DOT3 and DOT4 and has a high equilibrium and wet boiling point. The problem observed in the previous brake fluids (DOT3 and DOT4) is that when absorbing water, the boiling point drops rapidly. This reduces the safety of the brakes and in extreme cases causes a TOTAL BRAKE

he wants to put on our motorcycle. Obviously yours is to put the recommended by the manufacturer of the motorcycle but if we want to change it for another, what is the first thing to consider?

FAILURE. That is why the greater the wet point of boiling, the greater the margin of safety. Hence the increasingly frequent use of DOT5.1, which was created after these, and that meets some of the advantages of silicone-based liquids and some of the advantages of glycol-based. When choosing a brake fluid we have to be responsible and not take the first thing we see. If we take our motorcycle to the workshop, tell the mechanic what we want or, if he recommends something, at least know what

First and, although it seems unreal, to look carefully that the container is hermetically closed and, secondly, the manufacturer has the legal obligation to indicate the name of the product, its name and address, the packer or importer, net content, type of liquid of brake DOT 3, DOT 4, etc and warnings or indications of use. Then analyze what I have said about each brake fluid and choose the most appropriate one. You have to check the motorcycle manual to see which one is recommended.

How often do you have to change it? At the same moment we notice that the bike does not brake as usual and check that the pads are not worn, that the disc has no defect, that there is no problem with the ducts and that there is enough brake fluid,

the problem is in the quality and is that the brake fluid may have lost its properties as a result of a high absorption of water. In this case, it is advisable to change it even if the period recommended by the manufacturer of the motorcycle, which is usually 18,000 km or approximately every two years, has not elapsed. Another way to know that it is time to change the liquid is to see its color. The ideal state is a yellow coloration, like that of beer. Once you see that the coloration becomes more turbid, it means that it has lost its characteristics and, therefore, its effectiveness. Ideally, to have a 100% effective brake fluid, change it every three months. It may seem exaggerated, but this change, along with a good quality ducts, allow you to ensure optimal pressure in the brake system and that is to achieve in your brake the greatest force to stop the bike or reduce speed, keeping the rest of the original brake system. 19

My Bike

By Noraly Schoenmaker

My name is Noraly Schoenmaker, I am a Dutch woman of 31 years old, I used to work as a geologist and now I am traveling around the world on a motorcycle. 20

1. Where did the nickname of Itchy Boots come from? I have always liked to travel and I have been traveling almost nonstop for the past 8 years. The expression “itchy feet” which means: always eager to travel, inspired me to use the nickname of Itchy Boots. After all, I’m wearing motorcycle boots most of the time.

2. When did the passion for motorcycles begin? I got my motorcycle license in 2015, about 4 years ago. The day I was able to collect my license, I immediately bought a Ducati Monster 796 from 2010. From that day forward, I was hooked! I took advantage of all the opportunities I had to take walks in my Ducati!

3. How did the idea of traveling the world on a motorcycle begin? I did my job and sold my house in August 2018. I wanted to travel again full time, the same thing I did after I graduated from the University. The plan was to travel backpacking around the world for some time, so I booked a one-way flight to India. After touring India and Bangladesh for a few months, I found myself in Ladakh, north of India. I realized how easy and cheap it was to rent a motorcycle there. So I decided to rent a Royal Enfield Himalayan and surround the Himalayas for 3,000 kilometers. It was so addictive that when I had to return the rental bike, my mind was decided: I was going to buy a Himalayas! My first objective was to travel from Delhi to Malaysia. But when I almost arrived in Malaysia, I realized that I was not ready to stop yet. And from there, the plan continued to expand and expand and I’m still rolling!

4. The idea of traveling alone did not scare you a bit? No, it has never scared me. I took my first solo trip when I was 18 and I traveled to Egypt alone. In the years after my trip to Asia, Central America, South America and Africa. So I guess traveling alone by motorcycle did not disconcert me at all, because I already knew that I loved to travel alone.

5. We have seen several travelers who use larger bikes, such as the GS 1200 or the 800. Why did you decide to use the Himalayan? What was it that caught your attention? I chose the Himalayan after my good experience with the rental motorcycle. And I’m glad I chose this bike. In the countries and remote places where I travel, it is better to have a lighter motorcycle without too many electronic devices in my opinion. A mechanical problem with a motorcycle can be solved in most countries, but a high-tech motorcycle that needs a computer to scan the machine can be a problem if you are in a country like Tajikistan, for example. 21

6. I’ve seen in one of the videos that you changed the Himalayan ECU. How have you felt the bike with the PowerTronic ECU? Its worth doing? Yes, I was very curious about the effects of a piggyback ECU. The main effects were that it accelerated much more (I found that the Himalayas were a bit slow) and that the engine runs much colder. In the end it turned out to be the most important result for me. With the long hours of driving (also through some very hot deserts), I prefer a cooler engine, and it is also better for the bike. The additional power is just a bonus for me!

7. What other accessories do you recommend to use in the Himalayas? The engine protectors have protected the engine several times when the bike was 22

overturned, so I can recommend some of them. I also like panniers, because they are waterproof and can be blocked. This means that I can leave my belongings that I do not need daily in my saddlebags and I do not have to empty or remove them every day! I also have a larger base in my side stand that is incredibly useful when you have to park your bike in loose sand or gravel!

8. So far, has the motorcycle met your expectations? How many kilometers have you traveled with your Himalayas? I have covered 22,000 kilometers so far and the Himalayan has proven to be very reliable! The only real problem I had was that I burned my clutch discs while I was in Iran. But that’s mostly my fault, since I was trying to get out of a thick and sticky mud ...

9. How much time do you have to travel and where do you want to go? Good question! I will travel until I run out of money, so I am trying to earn money on the way through my YouTube channel and my website to be able to continue as long as possible.

10. I’ve seen on your page that you’ve been to Colombia. What did you think of this country? What do you like the most? Would you come back? Have you planned to travel Colombia in this adventure? Yes, I loved Colombia! One of my favorite countries in South America. I discovered that Colombia is incredibly colorful, with an impressive nature and a warm culture. I can not wait to go back there! In fact, I’m planning to travel from Patagonia to Alaska next, so I’ll be passing through Colombia again at some point! 24

11. Any interesting anecdote you want to share with the biker community? There have been so many crazy adventures on the road, I would not know where to start. But I think what I want to share is that if you want to pursue a motorcycle dream, then do it. If you listen too much to other people who project their own fears on you, you may never go. And I can tell you that you will miss an adventure of your life!

12. What would you say to a woman who wants to ride a motorcycle and is afraid to do so? Any advice? It only starts with something small. Start with the day trips, turn them into a weekend walk and then a week long trip. Travel in your own country or perhaps in a neighboring country. By doing that, you’ll see how easy it is and how literally everyone wants to help you along the way!

The new features of the camera Front and rear color screens and Electronic image stabilization with state-of-the-art technology DJI, the world leader in civil drones and creative camera technology, building on its legacy of advanced image stabilization, takes a bold new direction with the Osmo Action camera. It is as robust as it is sophisticated, opening up worlds of creative potential for professionals and adventure seekers alike. Built to handle extreme conditions with ease, Osmo Action is dust, shock, waterproof and has the ability to operate in freezing temperatures. It uses color screens on the front and back, a unique design feature that allows for a more comfortable scene composition while on the move. The 2.25-inch rear touch screen employs a water-repellent coating and fingerprints, and the 1.4-inch front screen makes vlogging and selfies easier than ever. With a brightness of 750 nits, it can be used with direct sunlight. The interactive user interface, Action OS, combines a functional and agile physical design with flexible operation. Turn on, start recording and navigate through the video and photo capture modes in the blink of an eye 26

with three dedicated buttons. Do not miss a moment with the help of SnapShot, which allows Osmo Action to turn on and start recording in less than two seconds by pressing the shutter button once. A 1 / 2.3-inch sensor takes 12-megapixel photos and 4K videos up to 60 fps at 100Mbps with amazing detail, ensuring high-quality images. A three-glass aspherical lens design records the low distortion content and helps reduce the distortion effects for enhanced scenes. The lens cover is completed with two layers of anti-fingerprint coating to keep the shot clean during use, as well as an antireflective coating to reduce the unwanted effects of lens flare, giving users more flexibility to shoot in conditions of light. Osmo Action is the first DJI handheld camera that includes RockSteady, the electronic image stabilization (EIS) technology from DJI. The high performance stabilization algorithms work in conjunction with EIS to record each movement in smooth, stable and high quality video, even when recording at 4K / 60fps. In addition, Osmo Action is capable of High Dynamic Range (HDR) video at 4K / 30fps, delivering

three additional stops of dynamic range to the scene, natural transitions between light and dark areas and rich details that are often lost in lighting conditions complex. Osmo Action has a removable battery with a run time of 93 minutes at 4K / 30fps with RockSteady enabled and 135 minutes at 1080p / 30fps without RockSteady. The dual microphones allow users to take advantage of the voice control of Osmo Action, and a loudspeaker guarantees exceptional playback quality. It offers a wide variety of highly creative features built into the camera that users can access with a few simple touches. While recording, choose between: ••Slow motion: 8x slow motion in 1080p 240fps or 4x slow motion in 1080p 120fps creates a visually appealing effect when documenting action-packed scenes. ••Timelapse: to convert minutes into seconds, Timelapse is perfect for capturing unique content with the effect of the world moving faster. ••Customized exposure settings: shoot stars with manual and semi-automatic settings that allow up to 120 seconds of exposure, perfect for capturing the night sky.

With the recently launched DJI Mimo app, connect Osmo Action to your mobile device with WiFi or Bluetooth for additional functionality, including live streaming of the camera, multi-story templates, quick editing in the app and more. An accessories ecosystem helps to unlock all possibilities, including: ••Camera Frame Kit: Included with Osmo Action, it offers universal support for additional accessories and a window for the LED indicator to show the status of the camera in real time while protecting the device. ••Adhesive supports: Hold the Osmo Action

to flat or curved surfaces, like helmets and more to capture moments of accelerated rhythm. Both are included with Osmo Action. ••Waterproof case: Protects the device at depths of up to 60 meters and provides a clear image with high resistance glass. ••3.5 mm adapter: Offers users the possibility to connect an external microphone for professional sound recording. ••Extension Bar: Capture unique angles with the Extension Bar, which has a rotating phone holder and a ¼-inch screw adapter. ••Floating handle: Offers a comfortable grip

and keeps it floating when shooting in the water. ••Filters: Comes with neutral density filters (ND), polarizer and submarine. ND filters (ND4, ND8, ND16 and ND32) reduce exposure to light in various environments, while Polarizer filters reduce reflections and increase color saturation for a more attractive image. Orange Seawater and Purple Freshwater filters restore the natural color of underwater scenes. ••Charge concentrator: Charges up to three batteries simultaneously in less than 130 minutes. 27

The SOAT evolves: Its importance and its changes

The Compulsory Traffic Accident Insurance - SOAT is an instrument of protection for victims of traffic accidents, whether pedestrians, drivers or passengers, regardless of who was responsible in the event. Each affected person will be attended to under the policy that backs the vehicle. 28

The validity of all national vehicles is annual. Two unique exceptions are contemplated; first vehicles that circulate in the border areas and imported vehicles that move from the port to the concessionaires for sale to the public, for which their validity is by monthly and second old and classic, validity quarterly. As for motorcycles, the SOAT includes any two or threewheeled motor vehicle with capacity for the driver and a passenger. In this class of vehicles are included motorcycles and motor tricycle, intended for the exclusive transport of people. It also includes Motocarros, understood as all monostructural chassis automotive vehicles, with three (3) or four (4) wheels, with their own stability, with mechanical motorcycle components, for the transport of people with a capacity of up to three (3) passengers, or cargo with useful capacity up to 1 ton, or mixed with capacity of two (2) passengers and 1 ton. The Congress of the Republic, the Presidency of the Republic and the Financial Superintendence of Colombia are the regulatory entities. Your rate will be updated annually in accordance with the increase in the current legal minimum wage.

What does the SOAT cover? The consumer is warned

that the claim for compensation can be made directly and does not require attorneys or intermediaries.

1. Medical Expenses or Medical Services - Surgical Emergency care, hospitalization, supply of medical-surgical material, osteosynthesis, orthosis and prosthesis, supply of medicines, treatment and surgical procedures, diagnostic and rehabilitation services.

2. Compensation for Permanent Disability It is understood as such the unrecoverable loss through rehabilitation activities, the function of a part of the body that reduces the potential of the individual to perform work. It does not apply for temporary disabilities and must necessarily affect the ability to work. Permanent disability will be determined in accordance with the disability assessment table and the disability manual that is used in the General System of Professional Risks. To determine the value of compensation for permanent disability, it is mandatory to provide the certificate or opinion issued by the disability rating boards

29

3. Compensation for Death of the Victim

••Death and Funeral Expenses 750 SMLDV.

Death occurred as a result of the accident whenever it occurs within the year following the date of this.

The aforementioned limits apply for each of the victims of a Traffic Accident event.

4. Compensation for Funeral Expenses If there is a right to compensation for the death of the victim, the value corresponding to the funeral and burial of the victim will be recognized. Operates as coverage of the expense and not as reimbursement of relief covered by funeral plans.

5. Transportation expenses It covers the value of the initial transport of the victim from the accident site to the hospital establishment.

How much does each of the coverages cover? ••Medical expenses 800 SMLDV. ••Permanent disability 180 SMLDV. ••Transportation costs 10 SMLDV. 30

Who covers expenses when a traffic accident occurs with an uninsured or unidentified vehicle? In cases where there is no insurance or the vehicle is not identified, the Solidarity and Guarantee Fund (FOSYGA) of the health sector, through the sub-account of Catastrophic Events and Traffic Accidents ECAT, covers the victims.

How do coverages operate in the event of a vehicle collision? ••The occupants are covered by the policy of the vehicle in which they are traveling. ••Pedestrians are covered by the policies of the vehicles involved in the accident and can claim any of the insurers (without accumulation). ••When there is a collision between an insured vehicle and an uninsured or unidentified vehicle, the payment of compensation corresponding to non-occupying third parties shall be borne by FOSYGA.

SOAT Digital When the account exceeds the 800 legal daily minimum wages in force, who pays the surplus? The surplus will be assumed by the Health Promoting Company (EPS) or the Prepaid Medicine Entity to which the victim or the person responsible for the accident is affiliated. In the case of a traffic accident classified as an accident at work, the surplus will be recognized by the Occupational Risk Manager (ARL).

The digital policy is a new presentation of SOAT, in a format that can be stored on mobile devices, such as cell phones, tablets or computers, while maintaining the security features of electronic documents. Resolution 4170 of 2016 of the Ministry of Transport provides that the SOAT policy that the insurer delivers to the policyholder may be physical or electronic. It is estimated that by

the end of 2019 the policy on security paper that has been operating for years will disappear. This indicates that until then the SOAT policies in the new digital format can coexist with the traditional security paper ones.

1. How to verify the existence? The digital policy includes a QR code that contains encrypted information about the policy and the vehicle. When purchased, the insurer will send it to your email in a format that can be saved on any mobile device or printed on paper. In the verification of the existence and validity of the SOAT, regardless of whether it is presented in physical or electronic form, the transit authority will take into account exclusively the information contained in the National Registry of Traffic (RUNT). In the case of digital policies, the authorities can also check their validity through the ‘SOAT Virtual’ mobile application or by logging into www. misoatvirtual.com These same verification mechanisms can be used at no cost by policyholders and health service providers.

2. How to verify its authenticity? ••Through the website of the RUNT or its mobile application: Free of charge can be verified by entering the vehicle license plate and the owner identification document number. ••The free mobile application ‘SOAT Virtual’, which allows scanning without Internet connection the QR code contained in the digital policy. ••In www.misoatvirtual.com where the instructions for scanning the QR code contained in the digital policy are indicated. The information appears on the screen.

Now, in terms of the new SOAT, we must be careful where it is acquired, verify its authenticity. An advantage is to be unconcerned if we get wet by a rain, since this has to be verified by internet through the RUNT. We are in a process of adaptation with the new format, but times change and technology continues to advance. For this reason, we can say that the changes are good. For our part, we recommend you always have the SOAT up to date and acquire it in trusted sites, this will take away more than one headache in case of accident, but, above all, it will not be so hard on your pocket.

Conclusions As we have seen, SOAT has many advantages at the time of an accident. The cost can be high, but if it is compared with the whole procedure that is carried in and out of a hospital, both for us and for third parties, the cost really is not that high. On many occasions we have compared the effectiveness of EPS versus SOAT and we realize that SOAT is preferable.

Infraction: D02 Cost: 30 SMDLV ($828.116) Driving without carrying the Mandatory Traffic Accident Insurance ordered by law.

Biker Association

Biker Hierarchies Basic charges and function

A new officer is chosen as long as an existing incumbent can not perform his job properly. Most clubs hold regular meetings (called “Church”) that all the patches must attend to discuss matters related to the club. Most

clubs are run as a democracy with each member of the patch that has one vote. Many hold annual elections to select their officers, while others vote on a specific position when it becomes vacant or when another member faces a challenge.

Each chapter has its own set of officers. A “chapter” is a group of bikers under the control of a president. Some have numerous chapters throughout the country (often with more than one chapter in major cities) while others have only one or two nationwide.

Clubs that use patches have a formal hierarchy. The positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasure and SGT at Arms are known as “official”. 32

active part in the club. Some retire, although technically they are still part of the club until they die. He is the leader of the chapter. He is the figure of the club and is usually the spokesman when dealing with the police or the media. He is the president of the club meetings and represents the chapter in the national meetings.

It occupies the second place and is filled when the President is out. He is often the heir of club leadership, although that is not always the case. It is your job to make sure that the approved matters in the club meetings are carried out satisfactorily.

He is responsible for the club’s documentation. Maintains meeting minutes and records important event dates, such as anniversary dates (when Prospects get their patch). He keeps in touch with other clubs and his job is to inform members of upcoming events. It is generally responsible for keeping records of club property.

He is the money man of the chapters and is in charge of collecting club dues, managing funds, paying bills, etc. He is responsible for collecting debts owed to the club and, in general, gets the job of verifying business opportunities before making any decisions. Usually the person who handles the benefits of an activity. Secretary and Treasurer positions are often combined.

He is basically the “policeman” of the club, although the majority would not like to be called like this! Enforces procedures and maintains order in club meetings. He is in charge of security at events. The SGT at Arms is sometimes referred to as the “Master of Arms” (although the “SGT at Arms” has become much more common). In some clubs, he wears a military-style sergeant badge.

He is a “potential” member of the club who has not yet won his patch. They are expected to do what they are told and follow the orders of the Patchmembers. They must be prepared to show their loyalty to the club. They do not have the right to vote and do not attend meetings unless they are invited.

He is in charge of logistics during a club shoot. Plan the route and organize refueling stops, etc. The Road Captain stands at the front and leads the group with the President. The position of the Road Captain is generally a “non-executive” position.

They are club members who have earned the right to use the colors, after an appropriate period of Prospect. They participate in the running of the club and attend the weekly meeting (“Church”). They are commonly known as “Members” or, in some clubs, “Patches”.

Some clubs have a lifetime membership that is awarded to long-standing patches for their contribution to the club. Life Members have the right to participate in the management of the club, however, their attendance at meetings and club events is not mandatory. They keep their patch even though they can no longer take an 33

MOTORCYCLES:

Do they really make you stronger and smarter?

We all know the importance of carrying the right motorcycle equipment, having the necessary training and being alert on the road. But have you ever considered the effect that motorcycling has on your health? 34

We have all heard the friend in question, the mother, the uncle or the spouse against the dangers of driving a motorcycle. But what good in life does not have its risks? When we take all the safety precautions, motorcycling can be enjoyed as much as any other sport. And that’s exactly what it is, a healthy, low-impact aerobic sports activity that could help you get some great abs while you enjoy a timely adventure at your favorite place or enjoying the freedom of the open road. When you find yourself in the midst of the inevitable fear of a loved one for your safety, try to share the positive aspects of driving, such as the health benefits backed by the research you provide.

YOUR BRAIN ON A MOTORCYCLE While a great body is always something to appreciate, an active and healthy brain is priceless.

When we drive a car, we sit in a sedentary way. Rolling on a motorcycle requires more work, physical and mental, that activates the prefrontal areas of the brain. In simple terms, this means that driving keeps your brain running at its current best and helps establish higher levels of concentration. A study conducted by Dr Ryuta Kawashima at the University of Tokyo, entitled “The relationship between motorcycle driving and the human mind”, evaluated male motorcyclists between 40 and 50 years old. They evaluated two groups, regular motorcyclists and a control group without motorcyclists. Each individual was examined for brain function and cognitive abilities. After two months on two wheels, the results of the investigation could conclude that those who drove their motorcycles to the office on a daily basis had a greater cognitive functioning compared to those who did not. When they analyzed the data produced by the men, who were also asked to repeat a set of numbers in reverse order, the constant scores of the motorcycle drivers had increased more than 50

percent. In contrast, the scores of the control group decreased slightly. It was also found that these improvements would be lost if the regular use of a motorcycle ceases. In addition to keeping your mind on its best game, it has been proven that riding a motorcycle has a positive impact on mental health, helps mood and reduces stress. The study participants pointed out that after 60 days of constant use of motorcycles, they had reduced stress levels and, in general, they were happier. Do you know the adrenaline you get every time you accelerate on your motorcycle? That is the release of endorphins. Endorphins not only feel good, they also help improve your mood. Indirectly, motorcyclists get more exposure to direct sunlight, which increases vitamin D and helps the general mood. Money saved from spending on fuel for a motorcycle instead of a car, truck or SUV can also help reduce personal stress levels. 35

As important as they are, the benefits of riding a motorcycle are not just mental. They are also significantly physical.

FITNESS OF THE TOTAL BODY Did you know that you can do all the daily exercise through driving? A calorie burner similar to fast walking, motorcycling generally burns around 200-300 calories per hour. Do you want to burn even more calories? Ride against the wind! (Quick Fact: Competitive racing runners, please only do this in a safe environment with proper training, can burn up to 600 calories per hour as a result of the exercise required to control a motorcycle at extremely high speeds) While you burn these calories, you are also getting a full body workout. The muscular use and energy needed to maneuver a motorcycle help to strengthen the abdominal muscles. Since motorcycles generally weigh at least a few hundred pounds, drivers must use their bodies to help maintain balance and direction safely. This requires the use of almost all muscles, which, over time, improves muscle tone. It has also been shown that driving a motorcycle makes a positive difference for people with type 2 diabetes or weak knees. The exercise one does when rolling affects body chemistry, decreasing the use of insulin. This increase in insulin sensitivity also tells your body to store less fat, which can help you make significant progress with your weight loss goals. As with any other form of exercise, no one claims that rolling is a cure for diabetes. However, it can help. As a result of the intense use of the muscles of the thighs in motorcycling, motorcyclists end up with stronger knees and become less susceptible to knee injuries. So the next time you get tired of the daily routine on the treadmill or solve tedious puzzles to keep your mind running smoothly or, if you do not have time for an additional personal hobbies in your day, change things! Try to achieve that physical and mental fitness by doing something you already love, like motorcycling. 36

Gourmet

By Hiroshi Naganuma

In my travels I have known many places and this is one of those places that gives you a lot. The Mall Los Laureles is not a commercial center as we know it in the big cities... it’s different. This place, for me, is a gourmet shopping center, where it offers different types of food, even a Peruvian restaurant. In one of my journeys without direction, I was running out of gas. I reached this point and decided to fill the tank. At first I had not realized where I was going, I was focused. But I started to see what was around me while filling the tank; I decided to take a break and investigate the area. With an incredible view, a variety of restaurants and a rustic architecture in a quiet environment. They really did an excellent job. I went back a couple of times to try the food, the coffee, the juices... they really offer everything. 38

More than a shopping center, I would say it is a perfect step of rest and replenishment. A romantic plan, it works; family plan, why not; solitary wolf plan, I still like it. The French patisserie Corales Traiteur offers a lot of things... Until now I have tasted the almond bread, the crème brûlée, the Chilean empanadas... exquisite. On the Camino del Inca, a Peruvian restaurant, they have endless ceviches. I found the cause of tuna and pork tacu tacu interesting. How to forget about my favorite foods, the Gaucho Essence. An Argentine restaurant where I found the pleasure of eating tickets like the bondiola and the bacon. Now, the meats... incredibly juicy. Now, if the taste is for the Italian cuisine, the Tuscany restaurant is the perfect one. They offer some pizzas in the stone oven that are crazy, difficult to choose the best.

Now if what you are looking for is more traditional, La Hacienda is the place. The empanadas vallunas with the delicious ajĂ casero and, well, an endless number of Colombian dishes that you already know. Now if the tastes are more malted and an American style cuisine, New York is your restaurant. There are still more to try, but more trips are needed to continue testing. Actually the options are many and the flavors are incredible. The shopping center is at kilometer 23 via Calera - Guasca. A family atmosphere and quiet to be surrounded by friends and eat without any hurry. 39

By Hiroshi Naganuma

Bogtá - Sopó - Guasca - La Calera - Bogotá On this occasion I made a short, but fun tour. This was the route I took to test the Royal Enfield Himalayan Euro IV. We have motorway, a small section of uncovered with curves and a road full of curves. Quite complete to try the bike. As always, all my trips are accompanied by experiences. Besides trying this amazing bike, I also had to put some ideas in order. I think if it were not for these motorcycle trips, with so many things that I have in my head, I would have gone crazy. 40

The funny thing, as always, is that this trip does not plan it. These trips of mine are made during the march. In this way I found a deer about 3 kilometers after leaving Sopó, they say Via Las Margaritas. It’s a soft uncovered, but enough to test the bike, with a couple of fun turns. The curious thing about this route is that within a few kilometers we find an interesting restaurant called Islamorada. It is interesting, since it is a restaurant that is quite hidden, but very good.

Being able to test this bike in uncovered terrains has made me think of new projects for the magazine, projects that will be revealed in due course. What I can say is that we’re going to have fun. I encourage people a lot to be able to enhance these trips without plans, since one is completely liberated from everything. Without a clock, telephones and without timelines. For me this is the true feeling of freedom, without ties. The only thing I have in these trips is my motorcycle and the road, the rest is just adventure.

Tourism Centro Comercial Los Laureles: A small paradise on the road where we will find many options to eat and recharge gasoline. It is the place where you can drink coffee and eat empanadas as a small break. You can also eat great dishes such as Peruvian, Oriental, Italian, American or even our traditional food. Very well prepared. In addition to this, the view and the quiet environment makes it incredible.

Super Pavo El Original: Leaving by the north highway, we find ourselves with a small paradise of sandwiches. There are of all sizes, from the simplest to the most complete. I always take, additionally, a package of kabanillas for the road. It is also worth mentioning that there may be many similarities, others with similar logos... but this is the original in recipe and tradition. This is something that can not be copied.

La Cabaña Alpina: It is located in the whole heart of Sopó, a unique place where all people can enjoy delicious desserts, sandwiches, crepes, dogs and Alpine products, have fun outdoors and share with their loved ones. It is the biggest symbol of Alpina’s tradition, since La Cabaña was born from the beginning of the company.

Islamorada: It is a beautiful key located in Florida of the United States. Towards the 1950s there was also a restaurant of the same name, owned by Cuban immigrants, which offered a delicious cuisine brought from the then convulsed island. From that family comes Brian Pinero, a music lover and entrepreneur born in Florida, who came to Colombia attracted by the landscape, love and rumba. His passion for music crossed the path with the singer Andrés Cepeda with whom he teamed up to explore the culinary fields and resurrect the soul of the old Islamorada, in Sopó. But Islamorada goes beyond the palate. Visitors will find a unique establishment in its class, located high in the mountains of Sopó, in the shadow of Mount Pionono and the hill of Las Águilas. There, the view and nature combine to offer diners a fascinating experience. Asados de la Calera: On one side of the road, we find a row of restaurants, more like roasts. You will not be able to find anything fresher than what was prepared in a village. Meats, chickens, vegetables, potatoes, yuccas... its incredible flavor and freshness has no point of comparison. If you leave the city and want to taste real fresh food, this is an important stopping point for your palate.

The Movie By MartĂn PĂŠrez

A young man joins the British mod movement and gains a sense of belonging and importance, but this makes him even more deprived of his boring life of 9 to 5. Britain’s response to Rebel Without A Cause is based on a concept album from Fair to Middling Who (they also financed the film) and was done on a modest budget, but it has too much chance of being ignored. Especially if you are a working class and come from the United Kingdom. The director Franc Roddam was smart enough to choose a young Phil Daniels in the central role of Jimmy. Daniels is a good actor, but he is neither soft nor particularly handsome. This prevents him from being accused of glamorizing some of the things he is dedicated to. 42

Jimmy is, in fact, also a little naive. Have a boring job in the post office of an advertising agency (keep in mind the satire on how to smoke - this is the “health warning” of the 60!) And mobilize on a scooter with many lights and mirrors in the front part. For him, life is about spending the day and celebrating during the night and on weekends with the most modern sounds of the day: the album that is not from the soundtrack of Who is a sample of the Brit Pop of the middle of the 60 As most of us know, and some even tell Jimmy in the movie proper: life can not be all parties, cheap thrills and gang fights, but it seems he does not want to listen. He is one of the great merchants of the world “there must

be more in life than this”; in this you are right, but you need to be brighter, have a better education or be better prepared to have it. Here is a good cast of new British wavers: Leslie Ash interprets the love interest of Jimmy and Sting becomes the “Ace Face”; The most handsome dog mod that Jimmy wants to be. The homemade truth about this character leaves Jimmy even more exposed. Quadrophenia is one of the best movies about adolescence that has been made and, fortunately, we have videotapes, DVDs, cable television, satellite and internet so people can see it. A low-budget classic that deserves to be seen at least once by all moviegoers and several times if it reflects your life in any way. 43
