Hello biker brothers. It has been a long journey with this magazine and now we will complement it with the YouTube channel. We will have interviews, tips and many motorcycles. Not only are we going to do the Motorcycle TestDrive, we are also going to look with companies that do their job very well to see what we can do with them. Thanks to the TestDrive, we have also done more routes, all according to the type of motorcycle we test. We will not use motorcycles for what they are not made, we will always follow and criticize according to the philosophy of each one.

Not all engines are the same, they can be physically similar, but each one has a different spirit. There are adventurous engines, sports, cruises, strong in low, medium or high, engines that revolutionize to infinity or engines that work in low revolutions. There are so many things to analyze when buying a motorcycle. Aesthetics and comfort is important, but more important is the purpose of an engine. I hope that we can help with our experience when you decide to buy a motorcycle, according to what you need and do not regret having

Biker Letters Hello friends of El Motero magazine. I want to share with everyone my anguish to see how every day there is an accident involving a motorcyclist, sometimes with serious injuries, sometimes fatal. Recently, a biker brother whom I had known for a long time was injured, spent some time in the hospital with serious injuries ... until he died. When I see the messages of the different groups, I feel sorry for family and friends. But when this happens to you, it makes you reflect many things. Before all this happened, I was one of those who got on the bike and felt capable of doing anything. I was always late thinking that, as I ride a motorcycle, I could arrive on time anywhere. I was one of those who got into cars in heavy traffic. If in front of me a slow motorcycle crossed me, I looked for any hole to pass it or go somewhere else to go fast. I did not respect the speed limits, I confess.

Now I think in a different way. With all that happened, I realize all the times that I have saved myself from being the one who could have lost my life. It sounds tragic, but the risk is real and we lived it every day. I have a motorcycle that is capable of reaching 160 km / h and I only use a cheap helmet for protection ... my phone is more expensive than my helmet. Now I understand the concern of my relatives and that is why I am changing my attitude and my priority. The first thing I did is buy a helmet, an HJC RPHA Max, which is more expensive than my phone. I have been with him for 10 days and I already understand the difference between this and my previous helmet. I also bought a jacket, gloves, knee pads and shoes. Now I feel safer than before. I also confess that I have changed the way I drive, now I respect speed limits and traffic signs more. If I’m late, I’m late. No matter if I ride a motorcycle, my safety comes first.

My life and the tranquility of my family has changed since I changed my attitude towards the handlebars. I also plan to take a defensive driving course, I think it is something that every motorcyclist should do. My message with this email is as follows. I do not know how it will be in other countries to drive a motorcycle, but the situation is that this vehicle is so small, that it is able to enter any gap left by cars and can reach incredible speeds with a small engine. I’m tired of seeing so many motorcycle accidents. After what happened to my friend, with whom I will not be able to share a new motorcycle adventure ... it hurts, even more, to see a message from another deceased motorcyclist on social networks. I hope you read this letter and become aware of the risk of riding a motorcycle. Their idea is to enjoy it throughout life and not to shorten life by driving it. A hug and thanks for reading this message.

GasGas will launch a 800 cc Touring motorcycle and two 800 cc and 250 cc Naked In September 2019, KTM Industries AG announced through a statement that an agreement was made with Black Toro Capital (BTC), owner of Gas Gas, to begin collaborating through a joint venture.

The experiment was already done with Husqvarna with the sales of the naked Vitpilen and Svartpilen motorcycles, which helped increase the sales of the brand.

KTM wasted no time and announced that GasGas, in addition to manufacturing Off-Road motorcycles, will now include in its portfolio street bikes, a Touring and two Naked.

With the new incorporation of the KTM group as an investment partner of 60% of Gas Gas, it is confirmed that new Trial and Enduro models will be remanufactured for at least the next three years. In the same way, they will also continue to leave from the Salt (Gerona) factory, other models of electric motorbike from Torrot, which BTC also owns.

Our suspicions are that they will use the already known single cylinder of the Duke 250 and the twin cylinder of the Duke 790 and the 790 Adventure.

Kawasaki ZX-25R The new Kawasaki is giving a lot to talk about. A 250 cc motorcycle with four cylinders in line which reaches the red line up to 17,000 rpm. This reminds us the 1990 ZX-R 250. Its engine reached 18,000 rpm and the SP version reached 21,000 rpm. As far as we know, this motorcycle will have several driving modes, quick shifter, KTRC traction control developed by Kawasaki itself, Showa SFF-BP inverted fork, a four-piston radial anchor monoblock caliper on the front brake and its engine could Around 60 hp. Now, this can cause other brands

to join the project if Kawasaki is successful with this motorcycle. Specifically we are talking about Honda. There are rumors that indicate the existence of a similar engine, but in 2009. This engine was intended to be used in the already known CBR250RR, which, the engine was replaced by a two-cylinder. Honda did not do it for the cost of the motorcycle, the possible final sale price and the job of reducing the weight of the motorcycle to compensate for those extra kilos of the 4 cylinders. The cards are on the table, now it is waiting for the consumer’s response next year.

The URE company presented a hydrogenpowered electric scooter It has long been investigated how hydrogen could be practical in 2-wheel vehicles. We can remember some examples such as the Honda Dominator of a Brazilian citizen or Suzuki Burgman Fuel Cell, which fuels the first vehicle approved for the European Union. Now the Taiwanese company URE (United Renewable Energy), which specializes in obtaining energy through solar panels, presents a hydrogen scooter. This electric motorcycle has a maximum speed of 90 km/h,

accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds, its autonomy is 110 kilometers, it uses a hydrogen fuel cell that produces electricity that is stored in an ion battery lithium and, most importantly, your deposit is filled in 3 minutes. This is a breakthrough for electric motorcycles, but there is still much to do. The numbers are not bad for a city vehicle, but it’s time to invest in an infrastructure where you can fill the hydrogen tank. Electric motorcycles are taking a lot of strength in the market and hydrogen, as a normalized source, can be a solution

Textile clothing: How safe is Nylon or Cordura, and what is Denier?

Also known as the “leather” breathable, washable and lighter. These days, motorcyclists have a multitude of options for protective equipment. Not only can you cover every part of your body with protection made specifically for motorcycling, but you can choose from many materials and designs. 8

Unlike leather, which is a natural material (not man-made) that simply transforms into garments, textiles are man-made fibers that are woven into fabrics. One of the most important and most common fibers for motorcycle applications is nylon because of its qualities or characteristics, and because it can be easily customized and manipulated in many different designs and combined with many other types of fibers. In this way, innovative equipment can be made to solve different driver problems and ensure protection in different climates and driving styles. Nylon is ubiquitous in the outdoor equipment and motorcycle industries. Almost all motorcycle jackets or textile pants are made of at least some nylon. You’ve probably also heard of many different versions of Nylon, but you weren’t quite sure of the differences. Some products are waterproof, often claim abrasion resistance, and everyone knows the stereotypical sound they produce when you move (does anyone take off their snow pants?). So what exactly is Nylon, what is Cordura and what is x00D (Denier)?

materials such as cotton, polyester and spandex. In today’s modern fabrics, all are mixtures suitable for the particular application. Pure nylon has a relatively high tensile strength, absorbs water unless it is treated, has good abrasion resistance and if you have ever burned a nylon rope, then you know it melts at a certain temperature.

Types of nylon Cordura was also developed by DuPont and is basically a special blend and nylon fabric with other fibers that is often coated and textured. At present, almost all luggage and backpacks on soft sides are made of Cordura or similar, and most textile jackets and pants for motorcyclists as well. Cordura has better resistance to abrasion and tear than its predecessor and tends to keep the color better. Some companies use the word nylon “ripstop” which simply means that the fibers are woven using a different technique and incorporates thick reinforcing threads in a particular pattern. The goal is to prevent small tears from spreading across the fabric.

Nylon properties Chemically it is called Polyamide and its manufacturing designation is technically a thermoplastic, but who cares. Basically it is plastic that heats up and stretches into long, thin fibers (think of the toothbrush bristles). Depending on the chemical composition (molecules), it can be customized for a wide range of applications. Dupont invented it in the 1930s, but quickly began mixing the original textile with other

Another industry term is “ballistic nylon,” which reminds us of a military origin and is supposed to impart some concept of strength. Originally made for bulletproof jackets (to protect against shrapnel) and then replaced by Kevlar (aramid), it is simply a specific pattern of basket-woven nylon. It is usually a heavier twisted nylon fiber than Cordura with greater tensile and tear resistance, but tends to have less abrasion resistance than Cordura. For the motorcyclist, consider them practically similar. Dainese even has its own

brand version called D-Stone, and we are sure they are not the only ones doing this.

Fiber Thickness (Denier) Denier (D), commonly seen in terms of Cordura as 600D or 1000D, is simply a term that defines the thickness of individual fibers. The higher the number, the thicker the fiber. However, it does not correlate perfectly with force, although most brands want you to think so. In reality, the fabric, the number of layers and the coatings tend to dominate the safety features of the fabric, although there are many claims that the more denier, the more resistant to abrasion.

Polyester - “stretchable” nylon Polyester shares many properties similar to nylon, but it is made of a type of polymer (plastic) called PET (polyethylene terephthalate, ethylene polyterephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate or polyethylene terephthalate). It is also a thermoplastic, which means that its fibers are molded and stretched in shape by heat. Then, the fibers are woven into cloth using the same techniques as nylon and can be mixed with other fibers such as cotton, just like nylon. While nylon is undoubtedly stronger, polyester can be more resistant to heat and is much more elastic, which is a key feature to have in motorcycle pants for motorcyclists. We return to the previous argument where it is not clear which material properties are the safest in a motorcycle accident. I, for one, certainly don’t want my abrasion resistant Nylon to melt on my skin, but then again, does that really happen in an accident? 9

Tests and results: abrasion resistance and tensile strength Now, in terms of demonstrating the effectiveness of these fabrics to save your skin, it’s ... complicated. What kind of test is representative of a motorcycle accident? Is it tear resistance, tensile strength, abrasion resistance, heat transfer? Maybe all of the above, just depends on the type of accident, what you hit and for how long, and a lot of factors. These people performed a good tensile strength test to see which fabric separates the easiest and hardest way. orientbag.net Here are the results of a series of resistance tests carried out by the orientbag.net page, with the highest number indicating the greatest force required to separate the fabric. Keep in mind that PU simply means polyurethane and PVC means polyvinyl chloride, which describes different backing materials in which fabrics are laminated (or coated).

This test clearly shows that the higher the Denier, the stronger the fabric is in terms of tensile strength, but then the testers clarify that the backing material (lining) makes a big difference. Then, then they tested the abrasion resistance. Unfortunately, the published results of this test were not particularly revealing. They used a fairly

Another test performed by a different group yielded these results, then for tensile strength (separation) and abrasion resistance. In the same graph, we plot both the number of cycles to failure and the pounds that break for each of the 6 different types and fabrics of nylon. You can clearly see two conclusions: 1. Polyester is weaker than nylon, and 2. The larger the denier (fiber thickness) of nylon, the stronger the material will be (choose 1000D if possible!)

Coatings and backrests As mentioned earlier, coatings and supports can make a difference in abrasion resistance. For example, SuperFabric, manufactured by Higher Dimension Materials, Inc., is a patented and branded material consisting of tiny “armor plates attached to Nylon, like the dimples of a basketball. This fabric is used in everything from motorcycle gloves like Helds to jackets and pants of the Klim brand. We consider it more resistant to abrasion for some simple reasons:

But most nylon garments have a lining on the inside surface where they cannot be seen, unless you remove the liner or turn the garment upside down. Polyurethane (PU) is a rubber coating on nylon found in the cheapest version of almost all outerwear, from tents to jackets and pants. When the nylon equipment ages, sometimes the coatings dry and peel off. You can see this in old tarps and tents. This is because PU is a cheap waterproofing, but it is not breathable either (think of a rubber rain suit), so it catches sweat.

Other backups you can find include Vinyl (PVC) and Silicone. Generically, these coatings are known as DWR or durable water resistant. When washing textile garments with detergents, the coatings wear out, so it is recommended to reapply a DWR finish with Nikwax Tech Wash / TX Weatherproofing or spraying such as Nikwax TX Direct Spray-On or Grangers Performance Repel + or a series of other brands. You can read all about proper maintenance of nylon garments on the official Gore-Tex website. 11

Repair Another interesting thing about nylon equipment is that it can be easily repaired. Sewing works, but for motorcycling where the hardness of the repair can be the difference between life or death, injury or walking, we suggest this proven method: Tear-Aid Fabric Repair Kit, Gold Box Type A: this material is sturdy. Just peel and stick, like a decal. Make sure the jacket or pants are flat and work the patch on the nylon with your hands. It is a bit elastic, so it adapts to the shape of the garment around your body, it is waterproof, so you can still see your garment, and it is very durable. We tried to grate it against the pavement and it resisted better than the jacket in which we tested it.

Conclusion It can be extremely difficult to determine the best nylon material for the rider based solely on the manufacturer’s or brand’s claims or laboratory analysis. Given the available information, you should rely on garments made of coated nylon with higher Denier ratings (600D is acceptable, 1000D + is the best) and that have multiple layers in certain areas of impact. Cordura is probably a little safer than generic nylon, and Cordura is the most popular fabric anyway. But no matter what the fabric is, the seams are of the utmost importance, so always look for high strength thread (nylon or Kevlar or similar) and look for multiple seam lines for reinforcement when it is most needed (in case of a fall). 12

Motorcycle wheels: Spoke wheels or alloy wheels?

Many times we sit with our friends to talk about motorcycles and we talk little about the different types of wheels that each motorcycle has. Lightning wheels or alloy rods... let’s find out a little more about the subject. 14

When it all started, the wheels were made of wooden tires and wired spokes. It was only in the 20s that the production of motorcycle wheels with aluminum wheels began, and then BMW patented the crossspoke wheel, allowing the use of tubeless tires. It was only in the 70s that manufacturers began using alloy wheels on their high performance machines. Even today, both spoke wheels and alloy wheels are very good on motorcycles, and are done more for reasons of functionality than for being a fashion item, but it is definitely not limited to that. Read on to know the advantages and disadvantages of each of these and to obtain knowledge when choosing one for your trip.

Spoke wheels Although this could be considered as “low technology, the wheels with spokes are still mandatory in motocross, dual-sports, scramblers and serious adventure machines, since they can handle with greater radial and axial forces compared to alloy The spokes give strength to the wheels creating tension between the hub and the tire.

Advantages of spoke wheels: 1. In more rugged terrain, the tires and wheels of your motorcycle will have to withstand large rocks or massive grooves that can force the wheels to bend and flex to some degree. 2. Radial wheels are better able to cope with such requirements, since they can handle radial forces without deforming the tires. 3. Although primitive straight-spoke wheels were not

so good at handling torsion forces, manufacturers took care of this by joining the spokes with other spokes on the same side to increase the torsion force and cope with the aggressive braking forces. and accelerations. Most motorcycle tires are tied in a pattern of three or four crosses for the same reason. 4. That said, many modern retro machines and cruisers are still equipped with radial wheels just for their aesthetic elegance rather than their functionality. 5. They are also easy to repair with just a hammer and a pair of wooden blocks that can straighten small dents on motorcycle tires. Broken spokes can also be easily replaced.

Disadvantages of spoke wheels: 1. They are not preferred for high speed stability, especially for fast curves. 2. They are heavier and more expensive compared to alloy wheels. 3. Radial wheel tires must contain rubber tubes that are prone to punctures. 4. Broken spokes can also push the wheel and pierce the tube. 5. They are more difficult to clean, since they have small spaces; Water and dust residues can cause rust or corrosion. 6. Aluminum wheels can corrode for a period, and chemicals used for motorcycle maintenance (such as brake fluid or chain lubricants) can damage that lining. 7. The wheel may lose tension slowly and deviate from the center over time, and if left unchecked, it may wobble and obstruct driving conditions. 15

Alloy wheels Developed to be used on high performance motorcycles, alloy wheels saw the first light in the 70s ‘. They were a much lighter option for motorcycles that had written speed everywhere. Today’s alloy wheels are mainly made of aluminum, but they can also be made of more exotic materials, such as an alloy containing magnesium or even composite carbon fiber.

Advantages of alloy wheels: 1. They have better torsional stiffness com16

pared to radios and work best under aggressive accelerations and braking tasks. 2. They are more rigid in construction and, therefore, provide better handling capabilities for motorcycles and are more predictable when cornering. 3. They use tubeless tires for faster speed and better inflation retention. 4. They are a much lighter option due to smaller cube sizes and can accommodate multiple designs. 5. Maintaining an alloy wheel is quite simple, with just a good cleaning with water it would do the job. It is also highly resistant to chemicals and corrosion.

6. They are much cheaper and easy to produce on a large scale. 7. Replacing tires is an easier matter with alloy wheels compared to spokes.

Disadvantages of alloy wheels: Since alloy wheels are more rigid, they have less subsection to any form of deflection. This solid and not very flexible nature forces loads to be located in a small area and can cause the alloy to crack and render them useless. The only safe option is to replace them completely.

Filters:

Types and maintenance

Within our bikes we have a variety of filter types; Air filter, oil, gasoline... Know the different types of filters and their purpose for the sake of our motorcycles. 18

1. Introduction The filters, both air and oil or gasoline, are basic components in a motorcycle since they are the kidneys of the engine and, on their condition and proper functioning, the health and life of the vehicle depends greatly . It is not a simple task to filter, they must protect the engine from impurities that carry the flows that filter. Several studies show that most of the premature wear suffered by a motorcycle engine has been caused by different particles between 10 and 40 microns in size or by the admission of air or suspended in the oil or the fuel. To give you an idea, a human hair is around 60 microns perimeter. Most of the filters on the market are currently capable of retaining these types of particles. The quality standards of vehicle manufacturers indicate that it must retain at least 95% of these particles. But filtering efficiency is only one of the values that should indicate the quality of a filter. The other value is the flow rate - air, etc. - that lets through. The higher the flow, the better, since it represents that the filter must obstruct as little as possible the passage of the filtering flow. Therefore, we must evaluate the combination of both values together when choosing a filter element.

2. Air filter The air is one of the three essential elements to generate the explosion inside the cylinder that, in turn, generates the movement of the engine. In fire slang is the oxidizer. The other two elements are the fuel and the spark, which gives it, in this case, the spark plug. The engine sucks all the air it can from the environment where it is running, so the air filter must allow as much as possible to pass into the explosion chamber, but preventing the impurities that travel suspended in it, especially dust, from passing. If a good filter is essential on a road motorcycle, it is vital on a mountain bike, because it works immersed in dust and dirt. In the event that an air filter becomes clogged due to dirt, the air flow that reaches the engine intake system would be significantly reduced, creating an imbalance in the optimal mixture of air and fuel that feeds the engine and which has to be more gasoline than air. The lack of the latter would prevent the fuel from igniting completely during the combustion phase. The direct consequence would be the reduction of engine power. It would also slow the throttle response and heat up the engine more than desired. If the air filter were to become completely clogged, the engine would be unable to start the fuel in any way and would stop. The air filter of a motorcycle is composed of a filter element that rests on a plastic, rubber or metal frame. The element itself can be made of several different materials: folded paper, cotton fiber, wire mesh or foam. The first, the foam one, is the most used in off road, although some road bikes also ride it. It is made of foam or synthetic sponge, spread over several layers. This material must be impregnated with a specific oil, which is responsible for retaining airborne dust particles that have been trapped in the foam cells when air passes through them. 19

When the foam filter is very dirty, it must be cleaned with specific products and regreased so that it continues to fulfill its function, and installed again on the motorcycle. Many road bikes often use an accordion-shaped paper cartridge as an air filter. The main advantages of paper versus foam are its price and that they have a significantly higher useful filtering surface, even if they have the same size, thanks to the folding technique. The most remarkable thing they have is their maintenance. They cannot be wet, therefore, when they are dirty they can only be cleaned by blowing them with pressurized air, and it is not always easy to do so. Therefore, they must be replaced frequently. The third option that the industry offers us is the washable textile filter. It is made of layers of cotton gauze - four to six - placed between two aluminum meshes that are folded and greased. It has an operation similar to that of foam, but a filtering capacity superior even to that of paper, which allows a greater entry of air into 20

the intake flow with the result of an increase in engine acceleration and horsepower. In addition, they have a maintenance almost identical to those of foam, so that their useful life is much superior to the other filters. According to K&N Filters, inventor of cotton filters, they have a lifespan of about 80,000 kilometers between cleanings, depending on driving conditions. In many cases more than the life of the motorcycle itself. If we evaluate the two concepts that we have listed at the beginning, efficiency and flow, this type of filter takes the cake. According to K&N they have a filtering efficiency of 98% and a flow so high that they even improve the horsepower and the original acceleration of the motorcycle. In addition, they are cheaper in the long term since the brand guarantees a filter life of more than one million kilometers. Preventive care of this component should be a priority. Remember, this element is the only thing that stands between the sensitive parts of your motorcycle engine and a huge amount of dust and harmful agents in the air.

Repairing premature wear of the cylinder, piston and rings is much more expensive and difficult than doing good filter maintenance. We should check the filter frequently using the periodic maintenance tables that all motorcycle manufacturers provide in the service manual. This details the maintenance procedures to be performed and the specific mileage intervals. We may have to inspect and clean or replace the air filter more frequently if we have been traveling in extremely dusty or dirty conditions. In most cases, the paper filter must be replaced as soon as the accumulation of dirt is evident. However, when there is only a little accumulation, a good jolt or a jet of compressed air pressure can solve the situation. The foam, mesh and cotton filters can be washed when appropriate and regreased for reuse, following the instructions provided by the filter manufacturer. The cleaning process may vary from one brand to another, but most require the use of a cleaning product, such as a specific degreaser, to remove old oil and dirt trapped in the filter.

You have to be patient and leave enough time for the degreasing solution to do its job. Then it is convenient to rinse the filter thoroughly under the tap, with hot water if necessary, and let it dry. When the filter is dry, an abundant layer of special filter oil must be applied, which retains dirt.

container, pouring cleaning fluid at a time.

Remove the old filter keeping the base of the box as it allows to fix the new filter or the same once clean.

Sixth step: Once the filter is clean, let it dry outdoors.

Third step:

Seventh step:

3. Air filter maintenance

Clean the air filter trunk with a clean cloth or flannel and a spray cleaning product.

What do we need?

Fourth step:

1. A new paper filter (if the motorcycle filter is paper) 2. Cleaning product 3. Degreasing product for foam filters 4. Re-greasing product for foam filters 5. Flannel or rag

If your filter is paper, you can discard it since it cannot be cleaned, except for specific models.

Once it is dry, impregnate the filter with regreasing product, using a specific pump or inserting the filter into a plastic bag and pouring the product onto the filter (always on the outside of it) and squeezing it through the bag.

Finally, it is advisable to inspect the carburetor and filter mounting surfaces, and clean them as well. In the case that you see that the clamp that fixes the filter is in bad condition, do not hesitate to change it.

If your filter is foam, you can use it at least fifty times, so it can be cleaned. If so, you must do this:

Eighth step: Then allow the filter to dry for two to three minutes so that the solvents of the regreasing product evaporate.

First step: Fifth step: Open the side cover or motorcycle seat to access the trunk of the air filter. The air filter will then be accessible.

Place the foam filter in a deep container. Pour a cleaning product onto the filter. Use gloves and drain the filter several times over the

4. Myths of the air filter If I want to improve the power of my motorcycle, just change the filter. 21

are very easy to recycle and environmentally friendly parts. whenever it is necessary to replace the lubricating oil. False: We continue with the lies about the power. An engine is a very complex machine and gear system in which nothing is done by chance. Changing the filter serves to give you more air flow, which does not mean that you are going to improve the power of your motorcycle. To do this you would also have to modify the carburation, the distribution and probably the exhaust. With all this the only thing you get is to alter the initial construction of the engine, so you will not necessarily increase the power, but surely you increase the consumption and wear of the engine parts. If the engine does not withstand the new temperatures, it is likely to be damaged in the long term if you are not careful.

5. Oil filter The oil filter is a basic element for the proper functioning of the engine and has such a low cost that we recommend replacing it 22

These filters are usually made with cellulose paper, cotton and synthetic materials using a simple system: the paper is placed on a metal frame so that the oil pressure does not deform it and it is screwed onto the support piece in the lubrication circuit . There are up to 150 different sizes so that they fit perfectly to the system of our vehicle and according to the materials that have been used in its manufacture we could classify them into two types of oil filters: ••Sealing: Equipped with metal housing and anti-drain valve that maintains an oil reserve when the engine shuts down. ••Cartridge: They have no housing and the engine is responsible for performing the function of the anti-drain valve. When oil filters dispense with metal parts, they are called ecological filters, since they

What is the purpose of the oil filter? Its main function is to protect the lubricating oil from impurities that may reach it before it begins its route of lubrication through the engine grease circuit. Otherwise, the metal particles that come off the friction of some elements and the combustion residues would pass into the oil and start with it a process of greasing the engine parts, which could lead to premature wear on the bearings or bearings. , generating breakdowns in pistons and sleeves as well as obstructions in any mobile engine element. The situation is aggravated in the latter case because the obstructions are especially dangerous for the vehicle’s engine and could in turn lead to the commonly known “leaky engine” fault caused by the loss of oil pressure. Therefore, we can say that the main purpose of the oil filter is to protect the engine and provide it with greater durability.

6. Oil filter maintenance Changing the oil filter (for motorcycles that have it) is relatively simple and, although it may not seem like it, you are going to play an important part in the life of the engine: the oil. Control levels regularly and you will improve the performance of your motorcycle. Even if you don’t see it or notice it while driving, engine lubricating oil is one of the most important and susceptible to wear. It depends on the driving style you adopt and the quality of the oil you have put in, but it is normal to change it every 8,000 or 10,000 kilometers. Changing the filter is an operation that is relatively simple and, between removing and replacing all plastics, it should not take more than sixty minutes. As for the oil to use, it depends on the need. The normal would be an oil that indicates your motorcycle manual. As always, we recommend that you be careful and clean with the parts you remove.

Remove plastics

Remove old filter

The first thing to do is lift the motorcycle, place it at a reasonably comfortable height to work and leave the “affected” area clear of obstacles. That means removing the entire series of plastics (fairing) that is in between, a good measure if you do not want to accidentally hit an area and leave an ugly signal that stays “for life.” As we have said on another occasion, be ordered with the screws that you remove, being careful that none is “lost”.

Once the tank has been completely emptied, you can proceed to remove the filter. For this you will need the appropriate key, as it will be firmly attached. Loosen it until you can proceed with your hand and finish the operation. Be careful with the excess oil accumulated in the same filter, it is inevitable that some drops will be poured that you must then carefully clean. Once the filter is out, let it finish draining the dirty oil.

Remove plug and drain the oil tank

Fit the new filter

This step is not too complicated, although if it is the first time you approach such a repair, you may find it curious. Motorcycles, like other vehicles, have two plugs in the oil tank: one to refill and another to empty. It could be done as in cars, vacuuming all the liquid through the filling site, but it is better to let it empty below and facilitate, in addition, that all the “grounds” or accumulated waste in the bottom also go away.

Before putting the new piece it is better that you prepare it a bit. First, obviously, you have to remove the protective plastic that indicates that it is unused replacement. Then lubricate the joint part slightly with mild oil to facilitate adjustment. If you do not do so and dry it, the new gasket may suffer contact with the engine and may crack. Once lubricated, place the piece and tighten it by hand to where it reaches, without using the key this time. The engine operating temperature will make the 23

O-ring adjust and tighten. When finished, be sure to clean the stained area well with dirty oil, or when starting it will produce smoke.

Put tank drain plug It is time to put the drain plug in place. A detail a priori unimportant, and that does not cost too much, is to change the washer of this screw, an element susceptible to wear. Being of standard size it will not be very complicated to find an appropriate replacement and with a minimum cost. Choose one of the same size and place it in its place. Then press the appropriate wrench until it stops and you will avoid dripping losses.

Refill with new oil With the new filter in place and the drain plug tight, it is time to refill with new oil. Although it may not seem like it, this fluid is the life of 24

the engine, so do not skimp and put a good lubricant that makes the engine work as if it were new. It would be normal to check your motorcycle manual to meet the standards. Go filling and reserve a liter, more or less. Start the motorcycle and let it idle for a few minutes so that the circuit is filled with oil. Stop the engine and let it rest, so that it takes “real level”, you will see how the indicator has dropped. Then fill the level again.

Put the plastics You are almost done. It remains to “dress” the motorcycle with its fairing (if it has one). Do this step without haste and with the same meticulousness that you have used to remove them. Do not rush because you run the risk of hitting or scratching a part and the repair would lengthen. You can take the opportunity to shine the parts you place and you will make your motorcycle look like the first day.

With the oil and the new filter you can go out and do kilometers.

7. Gasoline filter The fuel filter is a fundamental element for the proper functioning of the engine since it works as a barrier that prevents the penetration of dirt or impurities in the injection circuit, the pressure pump, the injectors or the supply circuit. One of the main reasons why this filter does not fulfill its purpose correctly is that it is dirty. If that happens, what problems could occur in the vehicle?

Dirty fuel filter: Consequences The most obvious consequence of having the dirty fuel filter is that when the fuel passes through said filter, it will drag dirt particles that it has, leading them to delicate parts such as injectors and valves, where these

residues could cause abrasion, chafing and even breakage of parts. On the other hand, dirt in the fuel filter also causes an obstruction that prevents the proper flow of fuel. That is, the flow of gasoline that enters the injectors is not sufficient and, therefore, the mixture with the oxygen that enters through the intake will not be homogeneous, the cylinders will not fill properly and the combustion of the engine will not be adequate. All these effects result in what can be summarized, in broad strokes, in a problem or general consequence: poor engine performance. What exactly does this faulty performance show when the fuel filter is dirty? ••The proper mixture of oxygen and fuel is

what allows the combustion necessary to start the vehicle. If the fuel flow is not adequate due to the clogging of the filter, the vehicle’s starting system will present problems. ••On the other hand, as there is not enough fuel flow, the motorcycle will have an irregular idle, in which it is possible to hear a throttle coming from the engine, and even have the feeling that the vehicle is drowning. ••Of course, the obstruction of the fuel filter also causes the vehicle to lose power and increase its consumption, since it needs to force the engine further to obtain the same amount of gasoline. This is especially noticeable in current vehicles that have control units that are responsible for alleviating deficiencies in the flow automatically increasing the flow that enters and, therefore,

consumption. ••Another common fault presented by the fuel filter is to stop the vehicle running. This can happen if the vehicle has not been started for a long time, since the fuel starts to deteriorate and drags all the particles through the combustion system. ••Finally, if the fuel flow is interrupted, it will affect the acceleration capacity of the vehicle. And if, in addition, we use the vehicle to transport heavy loads, it results in a great loss of vehicle performance. These are some of the main problems that can cause fuel filter clogging, a simple and cheap element, but of vital importance for engine performance.

My Bike By Gigliola

GIGLIOLA

I am in love, in love, in love with V-Strom. I say that by provision, by service, by backup... you get a spare V-Strom anywhere, it is very easy to stand with a classic V-Strom... it is very comfortable, it is a tractor. 26

Gigliola is a paisa, from Medellín; born and raised in Medellín with vallunos parents, from Cali. My mom really likes engines, all kinds of engines. It is not uncommon to see her on a motorcycle and always great for her. We (my sister and I) were injected with passion for engines; My car driver dad, mule, big cars and so on... and my mom with her motorcycles, so we have always been inclined to that world. I am passionate about motorcycles since I was a child. I remember that the first time I took a motorcycle, I was taught to drive or drive a motorcycle, it was a Honda C70 25 years ago. And from that moment totally fond of motorcycles, I love them. I think I’m not the most expert, but I’ve learned a lot, I like to share my knowledge with other bikers and I’ve always been on the side of motorcycles, I love the subject. Obviously always wanting to learn and learn more and to do many other things... by motorcycle. Before arriving at the V-Strom I went through the C70, Honda C90, Honda 100, DT, Platinum, UM 200, Pulsar 180, 220, Freewind, Inazuma... and my dream was always the V-Strom, so I had it. My jump from the Freewind went to the V-Strom and that was the jump I wanted to do. I watched a V-Strom pass by and said, “Ahhh, for God’s sake, what a beautiful motorcycle, I love that tank.” As is, in love with the V-Strom. 27

I worked for a while as a security guard, escort... and at that time I began to soak up a lot of big motorcycle, in fact, I worked a time as an escort in XT660; but I was telling myself that it is very rough and it is not what I want, I have always dreamed of traveling and knowing. I was telling myself that the V-Strom is where I want to go.

Then, things ended with that guy and I bought V-Strom, I had it for a while, then I spent a few months with BMW (the G650 GS), I didn’t like it, I didn’t like the change. Then I was with someone who also had V-Strom... And, after all, there came a time in my life that I did not do very well with certain things and I ended up without a motorcycle.

I had a laundry room and from there I started “well, I’m going to go up to Freewind”, I also had a warehouse on the other hand and I started with the sale of used motorcycles... And by that means I ended up meeting someone who had V-Strom and I started to get on that side. This guy has this bike, so let’s start soaking up the subject... let’s say it was a different experience. Because, let’s say I was always the one driving and becoming the co-pilot was gloomy. But I also learned a lot, I did some things to learn and I also learned a lot from other people. Let’s say it wasn’t a certified course, but I learned a lot with some people who helped me a lot with the subject.

But I am in love, in love, in love with V-Strom. I say that by provision, by service, by backup... you get a spare V-Strom anywhere, it is very easy to fix the classic V-Strom... it is very comfortable, it is a tractor, since you take care of it with essential, that is, it is not an excessive thing, with the essential, it is a motorcycle that is not going to leave you anywhere, it is a very reliable motorcycle, it is a motorcycle to travel, to know... Definitely, I would go back to V -Strom... yes or yes.

28

I really like the classic, I am one of those who got used to the method... the beast, as they say vulgarly. Of braking and that if I see that

the brake is not giving me enough, then I blow gas and under a change and the motorcycle is tied to me... and I love that. Having to do that exercise for me is a satisfaction. She does not have any help, her only technology is that it is full injection, but it is very comfortable, it is very reliable, and if you have to learn a little, that on a small motorcycle is omitted. For me the Classic V-Strom is the best. Lately I have been told a lot about all the aid that the last XT or AT have. Let’s say yes, ABS, the issue of traction control and everything else... I have to try it, I think. Physically it is not my love... I love that motorcycles have two eyes, I am a lover of both eyes, with a mask, a large tank... I love that. So, physically, it’s not that I love it. Obviously if I see that it is more ergonomic and, the little I have touched it, if I have noticed that it is much lighter, much easier to lift it off the leg. But... I don’t know, I have to try it.

Instructor: Bret Tkacs (YouTube; Mototrek) Suzuki Concept Store Av. Cra. 19 with 134 street corner Bogotรก Colombia.

The classic V-Strom is a very large animal with that brake, so it requires a lot to stop in an emergency, for example, it demands a lot. It’s much easier for you to fall or crash into a car or something like that in case of an emergency; compared to an ABS or a better braking system. But that also makes it spicy, for me it’s fine. One learns to know her and already knows when and how to stop or when I have to download a change and so on. In some cases, it has a very low ground clearance, so when you are in the villages and you meet those super speed bumps, it is when you say “oh my God, I have to pass very carefully or else my keel will suffer “ Or if you do a heavy 30

Off or that there is a lot of stone, you will suffer because all the time you are thinking about the keel... that counting that it has a keel, because if it does not have it, the engine cover or the oil filter , which is more exposed... oh my God... She has a fairly high center of gravity, is just under the tank, that makes you feel the weight quite a bit, but it also makes her very stable. This is a pro, but it is also a cons. Of course, if you lean it a little more than you should... “let it go, release it gently...” Or if it is still, that has happened to all of us, that we fall stupidly “let it go, release it as gently as you can, but let it go…” But if you’re riding you just accelerate a little to straighten it and that’s it.

But if it is a motorcycle that demands a lot, for example, on the subject of curves. If you want to take some curves properly with a V-Strom and you come from a superbike... there is pain. And if you come from a small motorcycle, you will find yourself, so it is not supposed to turn so well. For those of us who know it, it turns perfect with its weight. The issue of countersteering, see where you want to go and not where you are going; that happens to us, for example, with the gaps... one looks at the hole and, if or if, you fall into the hole. On the other hand, if you concentrate on going to dodge it over there, you left the hole and nothing happened. The same happens in the curves, if you keep looking where you are going, you get out of the

curve and more with such a heavy motorcycle. So the issue of weight, in some cases, is a cons. Many newbies who want to get on cylinder, get on V-Strom; This is the subject of economy, consumables, that is, oil change, filter, all that kind of thing is quite economical talking about high cylinder capacity. I would dare to say that it is the most economical. The rookie obviously encounters surprises by taking a classic V-Strom such as the weight or, as they once told me, “I don’t see where the tire is” and I keep thinking “and why do you want to see the tire? “ Is very funny. It has happened to me that people who enter the world of V-Strom look for me to know certain things. They have left me with very funny things like this that I tell you. “I just hit a car the other day because I don’t see the tire”... and I tell him “don’t get too

close to the car.” Things like that curious. They are going to meet certain things, but she is very good school. The V-Strom is a very good school for high displacement, because it requires you, but it also gives you very good support. You have to have a little experience in low cylinder capacity, although I know some cases where to buy a V-Strom and... there is madness. But, also, it is to want to learn and want to do certain things... because V-Strom lends itself to many things. Although they say it is not a double purpose, obviously she suffers in the off-road; suffer because they start to unfit some things, you find some sounds, and, as it is so heavy, if it falls obviously will suffer. She has a good suspension, but is designed

to travel, not for off-road, although it does not mean that you can not put it on the ground. The pros of this motorcycle is that it is very good school, it is economical, autonomy in gasoline is great (it can give you 70 in the city and almost 90 km / gal on the road), a motorcycle that you find the spare parts anywhere, they know it a lot (A mechanic can solve it very easily), it is a basic motorcycle (if it is damaged, it is easier to know why it was damaged against others that has many sensors and aids), it is very comfortable ... I have wonders in my head and in my heart with respect to the classic V-Strom. If I had a motorcycle again, it would be the classic one. I’ve always said that when I don’t want to have a motorcycle, I’m going to have a V-Strom in my living room, there, the queen, true love. 31

smdlv It is the legal daily minimum wage in force in Colombia that varies depending on the year.

According to the National Traffic Code, article 152, talks about the degrees of breathalyzer and its consequences, a point that we can see in the table on this page. The minimum, 1 year without being able to drive, a fine of $ 2,484,348 pesos, 20 hours of community action, 1 business day of immobilization plus what you have to pay to have the motorcycle immobilized. And all this, even though it is very negative, is the least bad thing that could happen to us… An extra drink can lead to an accident, since alcohol alters our behavior and affects almost all the psychophysical abilities necessary to drive safely. Broadly speaking, from medicine

they remind us how alcohol consumption affects our body: ••Alcohol causes us euphoria and makes us overestimate when driving. Despite having a few drinks, we feel good and “control.” ••After drinking alcohol we are less responsible and prudent. And also more impulsive, aggressive and discourteous. ••In addition, a driver under the influence of alcohol commits more infractions. ••In the case of perceptual functions, alcohol affects vision. And this problem can lead to a worse perception of lights and signals, a distortion of the calculation of distances and speeds, a reduction of the visual field, etc. ••Upon exceeding established alcohol rates, a driver is more likely to be distracted.

••With blood alcohol, there is also a motor and psychomotor uncoordination, the movements are less precise and our balance presents alterations. ••In short, alcohol will end up paying us a bill: it will make us make more mistakes on the handlebars of the motorcycle, decrease our ability to make decisions, that the response time is less than normal and, finally, that we react late and badly to any situation to be introduced. For all the above, do not pay attention to false beliefs. There are those who think that exercising, chewing gum, chewing coffee beans or drinking a lot of water will minimize the symptoms of alcohol before undergoing a breathalyzer control. Nothing is further from reality. 37

Biker Association By L.J. James

Who will teach the new biker clubs the true meaning of the Biker Brotherhood?

38

I want to address a question that I have received a lot recently. It’s from people who want to start new Motorcycle Clubs. They want to know if they should go to the predominant MCs in their area to talk about starting a new MC first. Many have told me that they don’t understand the reason why they should talk to them! Some have even gone so far as to say that if they have to go to the predominant MC in their area and ask for permission, that shows that MC is a criminal gang! I’m not sure how they came to that conclusion, but they are some very strong words sent by the computer. I want everyone to remember that I am writing this information as a guide for those looking to enter the world of MC and individual results may vary. This may be a new fad for everyone, but for true Motorcycle Club members, this world is everything! For my answer to this question, I will put aside any statement of having to ask the MCs for permission in your area first. Instead, I’m going to ask why you wouldn’t talk to MCs in your area and receive their blessing first before starting a new Motorcycle Club. Many say it is because they are going to start a different type of Motorcycle Club. They may even call themselves something different, such as a riding club or a biker association. Are your members going to ride motorcycles and have patches on their vests? If the answer is yes, then again, why not go talk to those who came before you and paved the roads you now want to travel? For many, I know that the reason they don’t

want to ask is simply fear! Fear of what they don’t know or what they think they know. If it’s scary, it’s because you don’t know the real world of Motorcycle Club! Now every Motorcycle Club in the world is different. But most motorcycle clubs don’t mind helping to start a new MC and teaching what it really means to be in a motorcycle club ... I can guarantee that it’s something you won’t learn on TV, no matter how many episodes they can see! Now, if you have decided that what you really want is to start a new Motorcycle Club, one thing I want to make sure you know is something that every Father should have taught his Son as a child and that is “Do not lie and always do What do you say you are going to do? One fact that I will also tell you is that the world of MC is about Respect! If you just started a new MC without talking to the other clubs in your area, you will most likely see that it is disrespectful! Let’s think of other reasons why you would first want to talk to the MCs in your area. You’ll want to make sure your new Patch or MC name isn’t similar to another Motorcycle Club. Many MCs have worked hard over the years to create a name and an image for themselves. They will not like the idea that you use a name close to yours or that you use a patch that looks like yours. The reason is simple, they don’t want to be confused with them by doing something that makes them look bad. It could also be seen as trying to ride the tail of his coat using the reputation for which they have worked hard. You may not understand it now,

but the world of MC is a Brotherhood and, if you are lucky enough to be welcome, you will understand it after years of working hard to create a name for your MC. The bottom line is to meet with the MCs in your area and talk to them before starting a new MC, it’s the right thing to do! Another fear that many have is that they mistakenly believe that they will be forced to do things for these other MCs. The only thing that most Clubs can ask you to do is come to some of their events every year, have fun and again to show respect! Now I have heard complaints from many that there are areas where MCs have decided that they do not want more new MCs! Well, all I can do is guess why that could be. The reason I would think that Motorcycle Clubs would say that there are no more Clubs in one area is because there are already many different MCs in that area and everyone gets along very well. These MCs would not want anything new to enter and spoil the harmony they have created. Now, as I said before, the reason why most say they want to start a new MC is because they want to start something different from what is in that area. Well, that is often not the truth. The real reason why people generally want to start a new MC is because they don’t want to have to prospect! If the only reason you want to start a new MC is because you are not willing to prospect, my best advice to you is to remain an independent biker, because you will not last long in the MC world anyway! 39

Pains:

tips to reduce pain

It has been a long journey and, unless you spend your entire life on your motorcycle, your body will not be used to it.

40

The worst part is the back pain that came back with you, the pain in your arms, that strange tension in your legs or that numbness in your finger that can’t “wake up”. Dr. Rafael Román offers some tips for a speedy recovery:

the inflammation will decrease immediately. After the first hours applying cold, if it improves, apply heat and go to a professional for an evaluation.

1. Neck aches on your motorcycle

Exercise to reduce neck pain:

Wind pressure on your helmet, tension and grinding your teeth while driving can cause cervical pain. This pain comes and goes at the base of your neck, preventing you from moving it freely from side to side.

Move your head towards your shoulder, gently but continuously. Inhale throughout the movement and exhale completely when finished.

It can be mitigated with some simple stretching and heat treatment exercises or with heat creams that contain ibuprofen, as they increase blood flow in the area and dilate the muscle, which helps to heal. This pain usually means that you have been too stiff while driving. To avoid it in the future, move your head while driving.

You should also check the position of the handlebars of your motorcycle. Adjusting the position, or changing the existing bars for others more suitable for your height and driving position, can help prevent this annoying and acute pain from returning.

You should notice how your neck muscles stretch and strengthen. It is normal to hear your cervical vertebrae adjusting throughout the movement; It is an unequivocal signal that it is producing the desired result.

Exercises to help rigid arms: illustration demonstrating exercise to reduce rigid arms

Repeat this exercise several times while still.

Repeat on the other arm. Place both hands behind and stretch gently.

Swing your elbow gently, supported by your right hand, to strengthen your shoulder.

2. I can’t raise my arms over my head! Repeat several times. If you feel pain that prevents you from moving or raising your arm and you can’t even take your helmet off after getting off the bike, you could face tendonitis in your shoulder; an inflammation in one of your tendons.

3. lower back pain after rolling You just stopped on your way home, you parked and then you realize you can’t get off your motorcycle! Don’t worry: you are one of the 99% of motorcyclists who suffer from low back pain (low back pain).

As soon as you get off your motorcycle, get something cold: a frozen bottle or a bag of frozen peas. Put it in the area of pain and 41

Tips to prevent low back pain: ••It should improve your driving position. Adapt your motorcycle to your ergonomics, not the other way around. ••Check your motorcycle seat. ••Check the suspension and adjust it to your driving conditions. ••Take regular breaks. ••Pay special attention to the cold wind; keep it from reaching your lower back. ••Stretch gently while holding the left handlebar grip with your left hand and with your right hand in the back seat (to the right), then do it backwards (to the left); repeat it several times. This is a fairly relaxing exercise for the lower back.

4. Acute pain in the upper back or shoulders. Exercise to reduce pain in your upper back and shoulders. If you have acute pain in your upper back and/or shoulder blades, you face a trapezius contracture.

42

If the pain has just begun, apply cold during the first hours, then apply heat. Do it this way, not the other way around. If there is inflammation and the pain does not go away, look for a good massage therapist. Tips to reduce upper back pain: ••Buy a helmet that protects and lightweight, with good aerodynamics and not too many air intakes. ••If you have a windshield and are producing turbulence when driving, try a lower or higher screen, or even travel without it. ••Try not to keep the same position on your motorcycle for a long time: turn your head from time to time and let your shoulders rest. ••If you have had contractures in the past, do some exercises. A contracture not properly recovered can cause muscle fibrosis (hardening of the fibers in the muscles) that is difficult to cure. ••Stress is a problem, since it produces metabolic wastes inside our muscles, slowing their movements. Take a ride on your motorcycle, it will help you relax! ••Carrying a backpack can be the root of the problem and make it worse. ••Warm showers and warm baths will relieve symptoms immediately. ••If you already have the problem, your doctor

can advise you on the use of muscle relaxants, ultrasonic treatments, ENET, infrared and massage. ••The combination of zinc, magnesium and vitamin B6 will increase the creation of ATP, the fuel of our muscles. An expert can advise you on its use. ••Wearing a scarf or scarf is an excellent way to prevent back contractures. ••Stretch the back of your neck with your hands, open your arms wide and rotate them gently. Repeat the exercise several times.

5. Numbness or pain in the legs. Be careful if you notice that the lower back pain (low back pain) mentioned above is going down the leg (left or right), either from the front or back.

If there is a pain that prevents you from moving, as well as a numbness in that leg, you face sciatica (neuralgia along the sciatic nerve). It is a constant and vague pain that will bother you more if you are still or standing.

Many manufacturers have addressed this problem by developing clutches and lighter brakes.

Tired after hundreds of kilometers? Do not say it! Do not minimize the importance of this, even if it seems quite obvious. One of my colleagues, a motorcyclist, was inactive for three days after a great trip.

If you went out for many kilometers, your position was rigid and you had to fight the wind, your lower back will be affected. Tips to reduce numbness or pain in the legs: Tips to reduce numb hands: ••Put yourself in the hands of a good professional and follow his advice. ••Depending on the degree of pain and lack of strength, rest may be mandatory. ••If the pain stops you from normal daily activity, you will probably have to resort to analgesics, muscle relaxants and anti-inflammatories. ••The use of a vitamin B or B12 complex can be quite positive in recovery. Consult a good professional nutritionist. ••Gently stretch your foot up; Repeat the movement with the other leg until you feel your sciatic nerve relaxes a bit.

6. Prevent numbness of hands and fingers when driving. Our pressure is constant on the handlebar grips, as well as on the clutch and brake levers.

7. Tiredness after driving

••Relax while driving and make corrections to your posture from time to time; Try not to lean heavily on the handles. ••Don’t drive with your arms too high or too straight. ••Check the angle of your handlebar and adjust it to suit your style and needs. ••Observe the excessive vibration of the handlebar: this could be causing the numbness. Check the weights of your handlebars, if they are installed and / or are the right weight. ••Pay attention to the excessive pressure on your gloves: it can interfere with the watering of the nerves in your hands, irritating and inflaming the median nerve. ••Stretch your arms and cross the fingers of both hands, stretch gently, relax and repeat several times.

The symptoms are: drop in blood pressure, extreme tiredness, lack of appetite and even fever. Here, we face a fatigue syndrome due to excess kilometers. Motorcycle fatigue tips: Rest is mandatory, as well as good hydration. Beware of alcohol, it is not recommended, I would like to emphasize this. Alcohol causes dehydration. Steal our water so it can be metabolized, so it is our enemy when we roll. If you are really tired after a long route, rest, drink fruit juices to recharge your vitamins and minerals, water and, of course, more fruit. By doing this, you can improve your concentration and have a safer trip.

Hidden in the Model neighborhood, we find a small business where the biker spirit feels as soon as you enter. From the same creators of Rockers Garage, a workshop specialized in modifications of type bobber, tracker, brat style, scrambler and everything that has to do with the cafe racer culture; They wanted to create a space where bikers can sit quietly and talk about the topic we are most passionate about ... motorcycles. But every good experience has to be accompanied with something to feed the stomach and wet the palate, which better than a delicious coffee and one of the many varieties of empanadas they have in this place. Time flies by putting these 3 ingredients together in one place ... history, food and drink. 44

Gourmet

by TintĂn Garrido

Brotherhood, biker stories, rock, coffee, empanadas ... a biker atmosphere at Rockers CafĂŠ. Now, not falling short with good taste, we find that all this is accompanied by a good musical taste, which reminds us of some time in our good lives, giving rise to more experiences. Stories like my first concert, my first motorcycle, my first shot with this song, my first shot alone, my first shot with my friends ... everything is linked. Rather, coffee has been created so that the stories to tell never end.

Bogotá - San Francisco - Zipaquirá - Tabio - Tenjo - Bogotá This route was the one I did to test a motorcycle. Without plans, we simply went on an adventure. The motorcycle in question, the famous Leoncino of Benelli. An incredible route for an excellent motorcycle. The route, both on the motorcycle, as well as on the villages where I passed without planning it, was interesting. I have met several people who did not know this motorcycle. Sharing with them my little experience was very enriching for my criticism about it. 46

But this tour was not only the test, it was also meeting people on his motorcycle and being able to share my knowledge.

spirit and his desire to learn. We’ve been talking for a couple of hours and just wanted to know more about the motorcycle world.

Among so many people, it was a woman who surprised me more than the others. She is a motorcyclist who has just bought her first motorcycle, a used Pulsar 160. His learning process was like that of many, the course to get his license and get a second-hand motorcycle.

For my part, I gave all my advice on mechanics and handling techniques. She wrote it all down in her notebook, which she called it “diary of my new life.” He had written down his mistakes and what he needed to learn from them every time he left with the motorcycle. Very interesting and I hope to see her again so she can tell me how she has improved.

But what surprised me was his adventurous

Live to ride, ride free.

Tourism Le Petit Jardín (San Francisco de Sales): San Francisco met us with a spectacular restaurant a couple of kilometers before reaching the town. Specialized in French food with an incredible view. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Everything they offer is made in the moment with the freshest ingredients ... even the bread is incredible. With my love of capuccino, I could not pass the opportunity to try it and ... it is incredible. It is worth knowing about the view, the attention and the excellent quality of the food. I have to keep trying the menu they offer again.

Café & Guitarra (Tabio): Nothing like having a good coffee in a bohemian space. A place that also offers excellent empanadas to accompany the coffee. Live music and crafts for sale make this magical place. Excellent space to rest from this long trip and to share with someone the good musical taste of this bohemian space in the middle of Tabio. You definitely can’t ignore this magical space..

Toya & Pepper (Tenjo): The trip has been long and nothing like a little hamburger to recover energy. This place has an excellent quality, but if you arrive earlier, your baked preparations are to suck your fingers. definitely another one of those places that one cannot miss in his adventures touring the villages. Recommended and guaranteed fun.

The Movie By Hiroshi Naganuma

This image has been underestimated at least. For a first independent opportunity to write and direct an actor who does almost all the action work, I simply cannot find so many flaws. It is filmed beautifully, the acting is excellent, and the story is trapped in your tracking for a while after it’s over; ... say none of that about 99 and 3/4% of what will be published and will make fortunes this year. This is not a story of bloody revenge, as confirmed by the choice to explain but never represent the murder that put Robert Wolf on the run, but rather a calm, thoughtful and deeply felt portrait of a natural stranger who desperately tries to navigate to through a world in which you can never play a role or even clearly understand. Jason Momoa 48

plays many of these tribal / barbarian-type characters (Declan Harp, Cimmerian, Khal Drogo, etc.), who live in the distant past or in a completely fictional world where a good weapon and inclination, heart, heart skill, and muscle to use it will serve them well. These characters are not wild, they only value love, loyalty, courage, justice and, above all, freedom, without feeling the obligation to submit to the wrong laws of another person, in a place and time where what A man may or may not do for him and his own people is all that really matters. A phrase from Conan comes to mind: “Barbarians can be warriors, but they don’t sacrifice their children or enslave their allies, like the priests and princes of the civilized

world.” In other words, none of them had been counted among the weak and fearful population of the land of the twentieth or twenty-first century. I’m pretty sure it was never considered or intended during the development or production of this movie, but throughout the time I felt that Wolf was deeply in the background with those other Momoa characters, say Harp or Dothraki, and that he It is living what everyone would find for themselves if they were taken from their own lands and lives, and submerged in 2014 in the United States. They would not be outdone for a second, just outlawed, alone and widely outnumbered, and so, sadly lost.
