While an assistant manager at Suhee Moon, one of the many titles held was that of Merchandise and Accessory Buyer, and Assistant Textile Buyer. In conjunction with managing the retail operations, it was my responsibility to ensure that the inventory Sunhee Moon sold from other brands and suppliers was complimentary with the Sunhee Moon aesthetic, meeting the needs of our spending budget with quality and consumer target market in mind. Passionate about discovering labels with fresh and unique perspectives in addition to studying customer analysis, throughout the year and a half that I worked with Sunhee Moon, I successfully brought two independent labels on board in addition to prior inventory vendor relations; One being jewelry line One OAK by Sara. The success of those brands continues on after my departure from the company. Sunhee Moon is an independent women’s apparel designer in the heart of San Francisco. She manufactures and sources her fabrics from within the city limits, proudly stamping ‘locally made’ and ‘Made in the USA’ on all of her garments. I was very involved with the production of new designs, assisting with fabric selections for future samples and apparel styles. As Assistant Textile Buyer, I gained a profound knowledge on the varieties of textiles and fabrics available for apparel use. Understanding the variables of fabrics is crucial when developing garments. This dress to the left is an example of one of the fabric selections I assisted buying for design production.

Success as a buyer is credited to my deep knowledge of the accessory and apparel markets. Continually educating myself thru fashion news, collections, brands, and personas allows me to understand consumer activity while utilizing strong analytical skills to forecast future trends among clients and customers. An avid negotiator, I always compete for the best value and am successful with inventory markups and pricing to ensure the highest profit margin for companies. The relationships I develop with vendors and labels are as important to me as knowing the company I work for is beyond satisfied with their inventory. Confidence, knowledge, excellent communication skills and commercial awareness assist me with all decisions and transactions.

The Georgia & Madison

My time at Sunhee Moon also included styling various clients, ranging from celebrity to top executives, business women, and the common customer. When Nikki Monniger (bassist for Silversun Pickups) was visiting San Francisco for the Live105 BFD 2012 concert held in Mountain View, I had the pleasure of styling her with two of Sunhee’s most popular dresses for the event: The Madison in a navy gabardine fabric, and the Georgia in plum rayon. Nikki is wearing the Madison in the image to the left, adding a touch of her signature style to polish off her look.

Tiffany’s Jewels...Or Shall We Say Gatsby’s? Ok, you’re probably on the verge of throwing up by now if you read one more thing about The Great Gatsby. Quite frankly, we can’t get enough. Have you visited the Tiffany & Co. website recently? You can get as close a pixel inspection as possible at the sparkling gems inspired for the film’s glam appeal. Check out what we dream of owning below! I would LOVE this tiara for a wedding piece, but with a price tag of $200K, I think I’ll have to settle for something else!

These delicate pearl and diamond bracelets Daisy wore in the film seem too dainty to do a damn thing with your hands once they’re on. Who cares, right? Diamonds are a girl’s bestfriend you know..

The detail of this 23.38 carat diamond necklace is astounding! We will always wonder what 23.38 carats would feel like dripping on our necks..

Tiffany’s also made a short film about The Gatsby jewelry which contains fascinating behind the scenes inspiration for the collection. Check it out for yourself!

L.A. Summer Days It’s June, and the weather has warmed up, sun-kissing my skin, leaving me with a desire to wear barely there fabrics and flowy dresses. My favorite moments of summer are driving with the windows down while feeling a refreshing, vitalizing sea breeze. Or sitting on the patio, a good book in your lap and a tall, cool glass of home squeezed lemonade (or your secret sangria recipe). Days exploring the city, discovering markets and new boutiques, dressing easy and wearing fuss-free maxis and rompers. Most of all, I love a good sun soaked day spent by the pool or on the warm sands of the Californian coast. And although you’re sunbathing, who says you can’t do it in style? One pieces and retro suits have made their comeback and are looking hotter than ever. In my book, a sexy bathing onesie is more sultry and exotic than the tiniest string bikini you can find, and it seems that others agree as well. Here are the swoon worthy suits that I’ll be adding to my summer days’ rotation, which can all be picked up locally at Silverlake’s Mohawk General Store.
