MAJORS: Musical Theatre WHY ELON: I chose Elon because of its prestige in the field of study that I have dreamed of pursuing since I was a child. It is ranked as one of the best musical theatre programs. The success rate of people graduating from the program was exciting to me, and not only is the training amazing here, but the care, love and passion that the professors have for the craft and for each of their students is so inspiring. BEST ELON EXPERIENCE: My involvement in the fall musical “Sweeney Todd.” We had a sold-out house every night. It was exhilarating and exciting to be a part of something so successful. ADVICE: Don’t let the distance from the West Coast get to you. Make friends. Find your people. Elon is a beautiful, supportive and lively place. It has become home for me now and I am so incredibly happy to be here.
An INCLUSIVE
COMMUNITY
Elon cultivates a campus climate that includes and engages everyone. The university intentionally organizes events, spaces and communities to foster greater understanding of each other’s lives. One of those events, Holi, is held every April.
Students, faculty, and staff gather to throw colorful paint into the sky to celebrate the Hindu festival honoring the return of springtime and the triumph of good over evil.
Elon students come from 47 states, Washington D.C., multiple U.S. territories and 53 countries. The majority of Elon students come from outside North Carolina. The university is committed to a campus culture that values individual difference and prepares students to become leaders the world needs.
284
CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

Whether you’re looking for an academic honor society, Greek organization, dance team, wrestling club, art guild, environmental organization, meditation society, a cappella choir or more, Elon has lots to explore. And don’t forget NCAA Division I sports. Cheer on 17 Phoenix teams year-round in Elon’s stateof-the-art athletics facilities.

94 PERCENT OF ALUMNI ARE employed, in graduate school or doing volunteer service within nine months of graduation. ELON’S FOURYEAR GRADUATION RATE OF 79% RANKS IN THE
top 8 percent of U.S. private universities
MAJOR: Sport Management AFTER GRADUATION: Ticket Fulfillment Specialist for the Atlanta Braves WHY ELON: I knew that I wanted to spend a semester abroad, pursue a liberal arts education and be in small classes to build relationships with faculty. I participated in a study abroad and Study USA three times, and I have taken so many interesting classes. BEST ELON EXPERIENCE: Spending one week in the Southern U.S. studying the civil rights movement, moving to Copenhagen for an entire semester, and meeting Hunter Pence in the Dominican Republic are all highlights of my time at Elon. ADVICE: Don’t compare your experience with your peers. You will end up in the right place and will grow so much from it. I remember being so homesick my first year because my friends were only a short drive or flight home, while I would have to fly five hours to get back to California. Don’t let that stop you! So many students stay on campus for short breaks like fall break or Easter weekend.

Elon has been an East Coast fixture for more than 125 years, but OUR ALUMNI AND PROGRAMS ARE EXPANDING ACROSS THE COUNTRY. Elon has 36 alumni chapters, including Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Denver and Seattle. Elon alumni on the West Coast work for employers such as MTV Networks, Disney, Edelman Public Relations, University of California Berkeley, TAG Advertising, Lockton Insurance Brokers, Teach for America, PMK*BNC and Pop Sugar Studios.
MAJOR: Sport Management MINORS: Spanish and Business Administration AFTER GRADUATION: Business Development Representative at Oracle + Netsuite in Denver, Colorado WHY ELON: When my college counselor asked what I was looking for in a school, I told her the quality of the people was important to me. The first school she mentioned was Elon. After taking a tour, I felt an overwhelming sense of community in a school that had 6,000 students. BEST ELON EXPERIENCE: Some of my best memories at Elon were made during my four months studying abroad in Spain. I made lasting friendships, including one with the person who is now my roommate in Denver. ADVICE: I look back grateful that I explored colleges outside the Bay Area bubble and experienced life on the East Coast. Moving to Denver was a piece of cake. My advice to those starting their Elon experience is to, well, experience it. The real world is a whole lot less scary when you’re ready for it. Elon has world-class resources. Take advantage of them.

HOW IS ELON GROWING ITS PRESENCE ON THE WEST COAST?
Southern hospitality is no urban legend. Expect to meet lots of people who will want to know your story, and plenty of passersby who will say “hello” as you walk around campus. Elon students are from all over the United States and various corners of the globe, so you’ll experience many different cultures on campus.
Elon is committed to developing a strong foundation on the West Coast. We have created more options for our alumni to connect and network with others in the West Coast Elon community. Programs such as Elon in LA, the university’s yearround internship program, and Elon in San Francisco, an eight-week summer program, have helped students connect with alumni and companies on the West Coast. As these programs grow, the university will continue its investment in alumni, families and students living in those areas.
HOW MANY WEST COAST STUDENTS ARE ENROLLED AT ELON? One hundred fifty students come from the West Coast, and the number grows every year. HOW DO I GET TO CAMPUS FROM THE AIRPORT? The nearest major airport is Greensboro’s Piedmont Triad International (GSO), which is just 30 minutes from campus. Raleigh/ Durham International Airport (RDU) is also convenient; it’s a 50-minute drive from Elon. Shuttles run from Elon to both airports, and you can easily catch a ride back to campus after holidays or when classes begin. EXPLORE: elon.edu
