Based on Australian & New Zealand Mental Health Association

Playing cards can encourage your socialization, alleviate stress, and keep the mind sharp and active. This can be happened because of our brain reconnecting with the more childlike aspects of ourselves. We can improve our psychological outlook and help manage conditions such as anxiety and depression. In addition, card games can be an intermediary for engaging historical media. By placing the design on an applicative medium, consumers can become more interested in buying. According to Kotler and Keller (2012:332), design is the totality of features that influence how a product looks, feels, and works for consumers. Consumers can indirectly educate Majapahit's work with three factors offered through a design without feeling bored and forced.

The current 52-card deck retains four original French suits centuries ago: clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades. These graphical symbols are "pips."

Cups and cups (modern hearts) may symbolize priests; sword (spade) for the nobility or military; coins (diamonds) for merchants; and sticks for farmers. While pips vary widely, the whore's card—called the "face card" today—has remained largely unchanged for centuries, featuring the faces of the rulers of his day. Based on this card's history, I want to transform it into the royal culture in Indonesia, where each card can represent the story of the Majapahit kingdom.

grwa Bh in

Playing cards first appeared in Europe in the 1370s, possibly in Italy or Spain, and certainly as imported goods or belonging to merchants from the Islamic Mamlic Dynasty based in Egypt. Cards gradually spread along inland European trade routes during the 15th century as a favorite pastime of the upper classes. Over time, playing cards are no longer played by the upper classes but by all communities from various circles.

th e pips The Majapahit Kingdom. The kingdom is Hindu-Buddhist. The Majapahit kingdom's innovation is building engineering (architecture and civil) and crafts art by utilizing clay materials. In craft art, more products are made with clay materials, such as human statues of children, adults, parents, and strangers, animal sculptures in various types, piggy banks in multiple forms, pottery, building decorations, and many more forms created.

In Javanese society, Keris is a complementary symbol of the identity of an adult man. In his book (Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, The History of Java, 1830), Quoting writes:"...a Javanese man who does not bear a kris is like naked..." In line with that sentence, there is also a kind of life handle that says that a Javanese man is not complete his life if he does not have suspicions (kris), turangga (horse), guesthouse (house), a woman (wife) and kukila (bird).

Keris as Spade In ("Malay World Edged Weapons," 2007), Keris has diverse functions, including as Keris as a characteristic of scouting, Keris as the completeness of traditional clothing, Keris as a weapon, Keris as a means of death punishment, Keris as a Personal Representative, Manifestation of Philosophy, Keris as Attribute of King Messenger, and Keris as Symbol of Brotherhood and Marriage.

The main characteristic of the Keris in the Majapahit era is its jet black color, or rivet, and large. A master can spend months making a kris. This is due to the ritual and process of making kris that is long and not easy. To make a kris, it takes a good iron weighing 15 kilograms. The iron is then forged up to 4,850 times to obtain solid iron.

Th e main characteristic

Jejeran Jejeran (Surakarta term) or deder (Yogyakarta) or upstream kris are many kinds, made of wood, bone, horn, or ivory. However, the most commonly found is wood.

Ganja The base/base is called marijuana, whose position is almost like a wedge and can appear in several variations of shape, according to its cross-section. From the side, there are known forms: sebit rontal, wilut, dhungkul, leech club, and, sepang. From above it is known: nguceng death, nyebit ron tal, nyirah lizard, nyirah tekek, nyangkem kodhok.

Pamor Pamor is a decoration or motif, or ornament found on the tosan aji blade. This decoration is formed not because it is carved, polished, or coated but because of its forging technique that unites several different metal elements. Mpu can only master this technique in the archipelago.

of th e Keris

Selut Selut is an extra ring to add to the beauty of the line, but it is not a must.

Mendak Mendak or uwer is a form of ring placed around the pesi, which is located between the rows and the Ganja.

Gandhik One of the bottom or base of the blade (sor - soran) various forms, among others: straightforward, long straight, laler mengeng, bride's banner, twins, kikik, lion, barong, and others.

Keris Blade is the central part of a keris. Wilah keris is metal (consisting of 3 metal elements, namely iron, prestige, and steel) that is forged so that it becomes a sharp weapon. Wilah consists of parts that are not the same for each wilahan, usually called the kitchen, or the naming of various forms on the wilah-bar (there are dozens of kitchen forms).

Jalak Lawu as Heart The myth of the starlings on Mount Lawu is associated with the story of moksanya Brawijaya V, the last king of Majapahit. Brawijaya, who at that time was being chased by Demak troops, went up to Lawu, escorted by Sabdo Palon, Dipa Manggala, and Wongso Menggala. Brawijaya V is believed to be moksa at Hargo Dalem (the peak of Mount Lawu). Meanwhile, Dipa Manggala was ordered to become Sunan Lawu in charge of guarding Lawu. The Menggala dynasty earned the nickname Kyai Starling. Since then, it has also been associated with the discovery of many starlings in the Lawu area.

Wayang as Clubs Concerning the style of expression of sculpture relief art, it should be noted how the development of government in East Java, especially in the Singhasari and Majapahit Era, has opened opportunities for a significant art style. The achievement of this time is the emergence of an expression of the art of relief that describes the figures in the form of "puppets," namely the body tends to be flat and facing sideways. This distinctive style is only found in East Java temples and is not seen in Hindu-Buddhist relief styles in other places, Central Java, Sumatra, and other Southeast Asian countries.

Gobog as Diamond Majapahit people are known as people who like to save. This is evidenced by the presence of a pig-shaped piggy bank in the Trowulan area. In the piggy bank, there are findings of several currencies or kepeng at several ancient sites in Bali. In addition to the results of kepeng currency, some of the same types of money as found in Java. For example, the discovery of coin in jars in Sembiran Village and Tamblingan Village.

Th e legen dary

majapah it arch itecture The capital city of Wilwatikta is known for its great religious festivals. Shaivism and Buddhism were practiced simultaneously and given equal status. Although bricks have been used in classical Indonesian temples, the Majapahit architects who mastered it used grape sap and palm sugar mixture.

Majapahit had a lasting influence on Indonesian architecture. Descriptions of the architecture of the capital's pavilion (pendopo) are mentioned in Nagarakertagama. Majapahit architecture is the basis of today's Balinese temples.

Bajang Ratu Temple Bajang Ratu Temple often called the Gate of Bajang Ratu, is a temple relic of the Majapahit kingdom built in the 14th century. It is called the Ratu Bajang Gate because this temple has the shape of a large gate. This gate functioned as the back door of the kingdom and a sacred building to commemorate the death of King Jayanegara. Until now it has become a culture for pilgrims to pass through this temple or gate when mourning the dead. According to the book Drs. IG Bagus L Arnawa, judging from its historical shape, Bajang Ratu Temple is a "paduraksa" type of gate building (roofed gate). All parts of this temple are made of red bricks, except for the floor of the stairs and the lower and upper lintels, which are made of andesite stone. The front left corner is decorated with reliefs depicting the story "Sri Tanjung." On the upper body of the doorway, there are also "kala" ornate reliefs and bas-reliefs of tendrils. There are elaborate, ornate reliefs on the roof, namely "kala" heads flanked by lions, legged dragons, eagle heads, sun reliefs, and one-eyed reliefs—monocle cyclops. In Majapahit cultural beliefs, these reliefs function as a protector and a repellent to danger. On the right-wing, there are reliefs of the Ramayana story and carvings of long-eared animals.

ON TH E

G ROU N D The Majapahit Kingdom has a thick culture with a clear royal structure so that it will be easier for me to re-narrate this royal story in the form of pips and face cards. The Face Card that I will illustrate is Hayam Wuruk as the clover king because, during Hayam Wuruk, the people lived Prosperously. Clover also means luck.

The consort of Hayam Wuruk is Sri Sudewi as the queen of diamonds. Gajah Mada as JackSekop, Mpu Tantulaar as Jack hati, Wikramawardana and Bhre Wirabhumi as Jack. Their role has been adapted to the story of the glory and collapse of the Majapahit kingdom and the meaning of the pips they represent.

As for the pips, I chose 4 Majapahit icons to replace the pips. For the heart, I decided on Jalak Lawu. My spade will symbolize Keris, Gobog, or Majapahit coins representing diamonds, and my Clubs are emblematic with puppets. The visual that I showed later was a simple vector illustration with modern vibrance colors. It aims to create a visual display that stands out and attracts attention. With a blend of absurd and editorial style. By creating illustration and playing card design with the theme of this Majapahit kingdom, I want to participate in the enthusiasm of playing card players who are now back soaring in the future. Pandemic by slipping the value of Indonesian culture to show that Indonesia also has a proud history. Visual Reference :
