A Look At The Likely Specifications Of The Samsung Galaxy S3 By Chris C Wesley
If you are into smartphones or technology in general, you may have heard about a major smartphone release in the near future by Samsung. Their new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S3 looks set to turn many heads, taking the reins from the Galaxy S2 as the companies most advanced Android smartphone. In this article I will look at some other rumored specifications of the device.
Camera One of the features of the handset that we can expect to see a big improvement from is the camera. The Samsung Galaxy S2 boasts an 8 megapixel digital camera which is capable of producing some great results. It can also capture 1080p video and is well known as one of the best cameras on a smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S3 though is likely to boast a 12 megapixel camera as seen on the likes of the recently released Sony Xperia S, allowing it to compete with or even surpass the cameras on rival companies' handsets. The main benefit of this will of course be the improved picture quality provided by the finer pixel density, and you can also expect to see the standard package of features included such as autofocus, touch focus, image stabilization and LED flash along with high definition video capture.
Operating System The Android operating system has recently seen its latest upgrade with the Ice Cream Sandwich version. This will take the place of the Gingerbread version which is currently found on the Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus showcases the new software and it is widely believed that the Galaxy S3 will include this also. In fact, because of the timing of the handset's release, it is likely that it will be optimized for this version of Android, and will probably be more compatible with all its features to a further extent than the Galaxy S2 when a software update is performed.
Screen The Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Note were two of the first smartphones to boast a screen resolution which is higher than that of the iPhone 4 and 4S with the retina display. For quite a while this was crowned the highest resolution smartphone display. Samsung therefore already has the technology to include very high resolution screen son its future handsets and the Samsung Galaxy S3 will likely benefit from this. There are several websites claiming that the screen on the Samsung Galaxy S3 will also be bigger than the S2. We will not know this for sure until the phone is released but it would certainly be no surprise.
The Galaxy S3 has some big shoes to fill as the company's flagship Android phone. The Galaxy S2 was one of the most popular phones of the last year, but thanks to the features which are likely to be included within the Samsung Galaxy S3's spec list it should prove very popular. The release of this phone will be one of the biggest tech events of 2012.
