Release Date for Samsung Galaxy S3 Plus Features and Specifications By Susan Hargreaves
There is an increasing buzz developing from mobile phone enthusiasts after a release date was released for the new Samsung Galaxy S3 as well as confirmation of some of the new flagship smart phones specifications and features.
Taking over the reigns of the Samsung Galaxy S2, the Galaxy S3 looks to have been improved in many areas including screen size and technology, camera, processor power and operating system, set to be Samsung's new flagship device the Galaxy S3 has now been given a release date in April of 2012.
This has all come about after Samsung's own marketing agency; Cheil Worldwide, released a statement after the Galaxy S3 was not announced at this years MWC event in Barcelona, it stated that the manufacturer was to launch the new smart phone at a dedicated event rather like Apple's route to market with their iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S models.
It is widely expected that this dedicated launch party will be heavily tied into the London Olympic games as Samsung have been so involved with sponsorship and feature phones in past events, this also points to a UK launch event which will see the release of the Samsung Galaxy S3 across Europe at the same time.
When it comes to specifications, the new Galaxy S3 is to sport a large 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus touch screen display offering a full 1080p HD viewing experience along with a 16:9 aspect ratio ideal for watching films and a new edge-to-edge design using Corning Gorilla Glass.
The Galaxy S3 will be the first Samsung phone to feature quad-core processing at 1.5GHz Samsung Exynos processing chips which will make this an extremely fast device, quad-core
technology is only now entering the mobile industry with just the recently released HTC One X currently offering these sorts of speeds.
The 4.8 inch display is only beaten in terms of size by the current Samsung Galaxy Note which actually borders on the tablet domain and is bigger than the 4.7 inch screens of the HTC Sensation XL and HTC Titan, this will make for a larger phone than the Galaxy S2 but following a similar design aspect should result in an extremely thin and light unit.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 will also offer the latest Android 4.0 operating system known as 'Ice Cream Sandwich' which was first launched in the Samsung Galaxy Nexus late last year, this adds further NFC support, a faster and smoother user experience and excellent task and application management into the mix.
Other expected features include the new TouchWiz 5.0 user interface, a possible ceramic finish to the exterior casing and a camera upgrade to a possible 12 mega pixel unit with extra imaging features for editing, panoramic shot mode and full 1080p HD video capture.
In conclusion, the Galaxy S3 is stacking up to be every bit as innovative as the Galaxy S2 was when it first launched, many rival manufacturers have been busy lately releasing their new products like the new Sony Xperia S and HTC's new One range and with Apple's release of the iPhone 5 scheduled for later this year it seems the ideal time to release this new flagship device.
