The Samsung Galaxy Nexus And The Galaxy S3 How Performance And Camera Features May Differ By Matthew Bruen

Samsung has recently launched the superb Galaxy Nexus mobile handset, a powerful and stylish mobile phone that competes well with the leading devices currently available. Rumours are surfacing however about the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S3, the successor to the best selling S2 and a phone likely to take the place of the Galaxy Nexus at the head of the Samsung family. We take a look at how the Nexus may measure up against the new S3.

Samsung always produces powerful mobile phones and the Galaxy Nexus is no exception. The phone sports a Ti-OMAP chipset which includes a dual core 1.2Ghz ARM Cortex A9 processor and a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit. This setup ensures that the model operates at a great speed and there is no question that the phone is one of the fastest currently on the market. The model also includes a large 1GB of RAM memory which is nearly double the 512MB that is offered on the popular iPhone 4S. This level of memory ensures that the device is well equipped for any future developments that may be applicable to this model. It is widely expected that the new Galaxy S3 will become the fastest phone available when it is released. The general consensus is that the model will offer a 1.8Ghz processor that is likely to boast dual core technology although some reports have suggested that the model may be the first quad core phone ever released. The phone will also set a new benchmark for RAM memory by offering 2GB which is double what the current leading handsets offer. Despite the undoubted power that the Galaxy S3 will offer it is hard to see how it can make huge improvements on the incredibly fast Galaxy Nexus.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus features a superb camera facility which produces excellent photographs and video footage. Despite only offering a 5 million pixel resolution for still shots the results are still fantastic thanks to a combination of superb software together with some excellent camera functions. The phone incorporates an LED flash for poor lighting conditions and a touch focus feature that enables you to select the part of your frame that you want the camera to focus on. One of the more impressive elements of this camera is the speed at which it can capture a photograph and it is the first mobile handset released by Samsung that boasts no shutter lag which means the image is captured the

moment the shutter button is pressed. It looks as though Samsung are going to fit a huge 12 mega pixel sensor in their new Galaxy S3. This camera is set to be accompanied by an auto focus feature and image stabilisation software to help you get the best results possible. The secondary camera on the phone will be the same as the Galaxy Nexus which can take photographs at 2 million pixel resolution and video capture on both models will also be identical at 1080P resolution.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 will undoubtedly be a huge success when it is finally released however the Galaxy Nexus offers enough quality to remain a hugely popular with the public even when competing with this new model.
