Where Color has Lived for 27 Years. A client once told one of our Customer Service Associates that Maine Cottage® was her “furniture therapy,” that every time she walked into her living room, which contained several of our pieces, her spirits were instantly lifted. Likewise, it makes us feel good to know that our furniture has an energy that is infectious and brings about such a positive mood change. Behind the scenes we have been immersed in color and the art of furniture building for more than a quarter of a century. We recently started taking orders for furniture from the children of some of our first customers, embarking on a second generation of Maine Cottage® fans... a testament to the longevity of our brand. For twenty seven years we have been getting to know our customers and their lifestyle, perfecting our approach to color and constantly improving our building techniques. Our employees are passionate about color and design. We have a deep rooted corporate appreciation for the disciplines required to create quality crafted furniture. The water-based paints we use are mixed exclusively for Maine Cottage® and have a volatile organic E

compound (VOC) content that is significantly lower

than conventional solvent-based paints. By using these finishing products on our vibrantly-colored wood furniture, we are reducing VOC emissions to make our work environment safe and absent of hazardous fumes. The paints we use bring out the G

richness and vibrancy in all of our colors, while

providing an intense durability. Our process involves thorough sanding between coats. It’s the labor intensive sanding with fine grit, aluminum oxide

abrasive paper that is arguably the most important step in our finishing process. It leaves the finish

feeling satin smooth. Over time our paint finish ages gracefully, developing a patina of surface scratches that add to the charm of our furniture's cottage style. Each piece of furniture is shipped with a small container of touch up paint and brush in the event K

that the piece is damaged or chipped.

We take tremendous pride in the quality and craftsmanship of every piece of furniture. With the care and attention we place in our building and finishing processes, we would not trust our deliveries to just anyone. Shipping companies we choose to partner with must meet our high standards when it comes to customer service. When your order is ready to leave our shop, it is carefully blanket wrapped and packed into a delivery truck. Before it leaves, you will be notified by a member of our Customer Service Department so you know your furniture is on its way. A few days prior to your delivery, a Customer Service Representative from the shipping company will call to schedule a day and time that works best for you.
