Prof. Emad Rahim, DM, CM E-Professor, Certified FastTrac Instructor SUNY Morrisville State College, MSC Venture Connect Faculty Biography
Morrisville State College was awarded the first set of grants through Syracuse University’s Enitiative program to help ignite the spirit of entrepreneurship across their campus. The three year grant, totaling $100,000 will go towards creating a new BBA degree in Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management. Dr. Emad Rahim will lead the project in developing a hybrid option for the degree program, which will be marketed to adult students in Syracuse New York. Dr. Rahim is currently an Assistant Professor for the School of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management. He is a certified FastTrac instructor through the Kauffman Foundation and facilitates Entrepreneurship Bootcamps in conjunction with local universities, community colleges and partnering agencies in Syracuse NY. He is also the Principal Dr. Emad Rahim, Business Faculty Consultant and Executive Advisor of Global i365 LLC, a management consultancy firm that provides e-Learning solutions and facilitates diversity development and change management training programs for corporations. He has co-founded two private businesses, which included MusLamb Paper Press and Innovative Development Incorporated, and was the previous president of the Human Service Association of CNY and the PMI Chapter of Syracuse NY. He has managed a diverse portfolio of business related projects for cross-functional organizations and institutions as a Trainer, Analyst, Project Manager and Program Manager. Dr. Rahim earned a Doctorate of Management in Organizational Development from the Institute for Advance Studies at Colorado Technical University and two graduate degrees in Project Management and Business Management from Colorado Technical University, Colorado Springs. He is the recipient of the 2010 Entrepreneurship Teaching Excellence Award by the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University and is a 2010-2011 Beyster Institute Scholar Fellow at UC San Diego. He is an alumnus of the Leadership of Greater Syracuse program, Oklahoma State University’ s XI Experiential Classroom, Syracuse University’s Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, Cornell University’s Executive Leadership Series and the Gamaliel Foundation’s Community Advance Leadership program (President Barack Obama, Alum). He currently supports future entrepreneurs as an e-Mentor and business coach for the Syracuse Sandbox, iVenture Upstate, The Center of Excellence, Morrisville State College and for the
Syracuse SCORE Chapter and is a Research Fellow for the Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace. He holds four internationally recognized professional certifications, which includes the PMP (Project Management Professional) from the Project Management Institute, CM (Certified Manager) from The Institute of Certified Professional Managers, Certified Facilitator of FastTrac New Venture and Venture Growth from The Kauffman Foundation and is Green Belt Six Sigma Certified. Dr. Rahim has taught doctoral level courses in business and leadership for Walden University and Colorado Technical University, and graduate and undergraduate courses for Kaplan University, TUI University, DeVry University, Keuka College, Morrisville State College, SUNY Empire State College and Bryant & Stratton College. He has been invited to lecture at Colgate University, Syracuse University, SUNY Empire State College, Fort Hays State University, Queen’s University Belfast, HEC Montréal School of Business, Virginia International University, Strayer University, Cayuga Community College, Richard Stockton College, Colorado Technical University and Onondaga Community College. He has multiple research publications in peer review journals on topics related to organizational stigmas, Technology Garden Press Release nonprofit management, entrepreneurship, knowledge management, social science, diversity management, project management, higher education, change management, conflict resolution, leadership, corporate ethics, appreciative inquiry, co-operative inquiry, action research, organizational development and organizational behaviors. He received the “Research Excellent Award” for his work on organizational stigmas by the Journal of Business & Leadership at Fort Hays State University. He has also been invited to present his research at academic and professional conferences, both national and international.
