AN ALL-ROUND SUCCESS STORY

Change of company name to CNC-Technik Weiss GmbH CNC-Technik Weiss becomes a service station for KARSTENS cylindrical grinding machines. Bernd Weiss becomes sole managing director and shareholder. Change of company name to CNC-Technik Weiss GmbH. The fi rst CNC machines The fi rst completely automated CNC cylindrical grinding machines are developed and built for customers. The special feature of the CNC machine control system is its integral loading equipment and workpiece feed systems.

Founding Cech und Weiss GmbH was founded after more than 15 years of work on grinding technology and machine development at cylindrical grinding machine manufacturer KARSTENS, specializing in contract cylindrical grinding on six cylindrical grinding machines. Development of the W 27 CNC-Technik Weiss now provides 150 KARSTENS customers with maintenance, refurbishment, and retrofi tting services. In addition, the company starts development work on its own cylindrical grinding machines, the W 27 which is still part of the product range today.

At the touch of a button The brand new WUG 21 is unveiled – a revolutionary universal cylindrical grinding machine. 100% manual and 100% CNC. Advanced development of the WUG 21 Advanced development of proven WUG 21, including a turret with four tool positions for internal grinding, new C-axes software for non-round grinding. Expansion of all assemblies to feature the latest technology, all assemblies are suitable for universal use. Development of the W 11 EVOLUTION No hydraulics, axis drives using servo motors and ball screw spindle drives, technology entry of the grinding parameters on a touchscreen, automatic parallel dressing with compensation, automatic release.

2004 2007

Grinding machine line Created a new grinding machine line – including conventional, small CNC, large CNC and production cylindrical grinding machines. With 50% Weiss machines and 50% KARSTENS cylindrical grinding machines, retro and used machines.

2008 2012

The new building Moved to a new building in Neckartailfi ngen with a 3,000 m2 (40,903 sqft) production area. Development of a new torque B-axis for swiveling the grinding headstock automatically with a swivel accuracy of less than 2”.

2016 2018

Expansion Expanded the machine line with the CNC-supported W 11 CNC cylindrical grinding machine.

2019

EMAG Group CNC-Technik Weiss becomes part of the EMAG Group. This leads to completely new opportunities in terms of development, construction, sales, and service for Weiss products.
