Introduction So now you’re a member, what happens next? You will be given your credit union transaction wallet where you can store your lodgement and withdrawal dockets. You must make a lodgement of at least €10 as this is the minimum amount required to hold an account. A once off payment of €0.25 membership fee must be paid. You are then a fully-fledged member. Credit Unions are a cooperative that are run by a body of dedicated volunteers, staff and management. St Dominic Credit Union places people first and emphasises the philosophy, “people before profit”. By working together through co-operation, people can achieve far more together than individually on their own. As a new member we want you to know all the benefits and services available to you. Benefits • Flexible & Convenient Loans Our competitive rates range from 6% to 10.25%. We approve over 98% of loans. We have a 24 hour approval. Apply online, over the phone or in branch.
• We’re not a bank A credit union exists only to serve its members — not to profit from their needs. Surplus income generated is returned to the members by way of a dividend and/or is directed to improved or additional services required by the members.
• Loan protection insurance Offered free of charge to members with a loan. Terms and conditions apply.
• Death Benefit Insurance An optional insurance for members of our credit union. It is designed to lighten the financial burden of bereavement. Terms and conditions apply.
• Life Savings Insurance St. Dominic Credit Union provides Life Insurance cover on the savings of all eligible members. Terms and conditions apply.
• Infant Scheme St Dominic Credit Union offers an Infant Scheme; a lodgement of €20 to all new baby accounts. Terms and condition apply.

Services • On line banking and Free App You can access your account details 24/7, check account balances and transactions, apply for a loan online, calculate loan repayments and check loan approvals. You can also pay your utility bills online, transfer money to and from your bank account, transfer money between your credit union balances and send secure messaging to the credit union.
• Direct Debits This is a convenient and time saving way of paying directly from your bank to your credit union account to make your loan repayment or lodge money to your savings or deposit account. You can also set up a direct debit to pay your bills, e.g. Bord Gais, Eircom, ESB or Sky, from your credit union account.
• Debit Card Payments Save or make loan repayments using your laser card. This can be done in our main office or over the phone.
• Quick Pay Save members queuing time. It can be used for making loan repayments or lodgements to savings.
• Saving Stamp Account A convenient way to get your savings started.
• Insurances A number of different insurances are available at a discounted rate to credit union members. Axa Insurances Ltd offer discounts on car and home insurance. CU Safe and CoverU offer discount on a range of insurance types. VHI and Aviva offer discount to credit union members on health insurance.
• Foreign Exchange Full foreign exchange service is available to our members; Foreign Currency, Cheques, Bank Drafts.
• Paypoint More convenient way to pay your household bills, top up your mobile and make other payments in cash, at St Dominic Credit Union.

In Your Community We, at St. Dominic Credit Union, take an active role in the community and often get involved in local charity events - be it fundraising via a book sale or taking part in a local Fun Run to raise money for local charities. We have also sponsored many worthy causes over the years from local sports clubs to schools in our community and to charity organisations. We take an active interest in the development of children in our community in their school years. We ask children to get involved in such activities during the year as the Poster Competition and the Credit Unions Schools Quiz as well as run a “School Credit Union� in a lot of the local schools.
