THE SMALL SHIP EXPERIENCE EMERALD CRUISES STAR-SHIPS Cutting a chic figure on the waterways of Europe and Southeast Asia, an award-winning Emerald Cruises Star-Ship combines the small ship cruising experience with comfort and innovation across their custom-built fleet of floating boutique hotels. On board, a celebration of light and space is echoed throughout, from every thoughtfully designed suite and stateroom, to the open-plan dining venues, elegantly furnished public areas and an indoor pool with retractable roof†. Eight Star-Ships in Europe allow your group to enjoy intimate guest numbers of between 112 and 180, while Emerald Harmony, built to sail the Mekong, accommodates just 84 guests and 40 crew members.

A variety of suite and stateroom categories meet the standards expected from that of a world-class hotel, with every suite home to its own all-weather balcony system. Each modern, luxurious sanctuary promotes relaxation with its contemporary design, including a queen or twin-sized bed, luscious linens, plush toiletries and even a flatscreen TV and infotainment system. On board Emerald Harmony in Southeast Asia, a fusion of Asian style with our signature contemporary design brings the outside in, for an authentic atmosphere. Whether travelling in Europe or Southeast Asia, every delicious meal served on board is the creation of an expert team who lovingly craft every menu using seasonal and regional produce. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be enjoyed in the Reflections Restaurant, where every course takes influence from the route being travelled. An à la carte dinner menu is a culinary celebration, and special welcome and farewell evenings will provide tastes to savour.

And, as the perfect accompaniment, guests can choose from a selection of complimentary wines, beer and soft drinks to enjoy with lunch and dinner. Pushing the boundaries of river cruising, there’s so much to discover on board every Star-Ship where, unlike any other cruise lines, a number of areas are large enough to accommodate group gatherings. Guests can meet in the Horizon Bar & Lounge for a relaxing drink in sumptuous surrounds or can head to the Sun Deck for panoramic views of the unfolding horizon. On selected European Star-Ships, an indoor pool with retractable roof welcomes in the river breeze before the space transforms into an evening cinema†. This area can also be used for intimate group gatherings of up to 30 people. Star-Ships in Portugal and Southeast Asia make the most of the climate with an open-air spa-style serenity pool and Infinity Pool respectively, remarkably designed for total relaxation.

From the time of initial contact and every insightful excursion, to our superb on board cuisine and the post cruise follow up, guests will have one contact assisting them to make it the best trip possible - it’s the little things that provide the perfect personal touch. Full ship charter rate quotes include all the standard offerings of any standard cruise (including port taxes/fees) and reflect the lowest offered rates. A 10% deposit is required up front with a schedule of incremental deposits, and final payment is due 120 days prior to departure.

Each meal is thoughtfully crafted by our chefs, influenced by the path we’re travelling and includes seasonal and regional produce for the ultimate dining experience. On board Emerald Harmony, custom-built to sail the Mekong, the Sun and Pool decks are remarkable places to unwind, as guests take a refreshing dip, enjoy an al fresco drink and take shade from the sun. Authentic dark wooden tones, muted colours and local art work adorn the walls of the Lotus Lounge, situated on the Vista Deck, perfectly positioned to observe as the ship docks in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City, the only vessel of its type to do so. And, advanced air treatments, intensive water purification methods and the exclusion of single-use plastics has been introduced, to reflect our commitment to a cleaner and greener existence.

On the Vista Deck, guests will find the Reflections Restaurant, the centre point of our on board dining experience. Accommodating tables of two to ten, floor-to-ceiling windows present excellent views of the river, while the menu celebrates seasonal and regional flavours.
A spacious and contemporary meeting place at any time of the day, guests can get comfortable on the plush seating and treat themselves to a glass of to a glass of local wine, beer or perhaps a cup of tea or coffee. The Terrace is situated at the fore of our Star-Ships, an indoor and outdoor space separated by floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
Head to the top of our Star-Ships to enjoy the best views of the river from the spacious Sun Deck. An open area, where guests can bask in the sunshine or enjoy a crisp morning from their deck chair. They can try their hand at a game of noughts and crosses, challenge a fellow guest to some putting or simply relax with a drink.
