Magrittte An exhibit which appeared not long ago in Paris’s Museum of Advertising–Magritte and Advertising–brought out an aspect of the Belgian painter’s work that was hitherto relatively unknown. Several times during his life, Magritte, in order to survive, worked in advertising–at the start of his career during the years 1918 to 1920; during the years of his discovery of Surrealism (1926–27); in a systematic ashion between 1931 and 1936; and finally more sporadically during and after World War II.
Magritte’s earliest known advertising work consists of posters he did when he was twenty and still living with his father. Though he was painting at the time, he designed these posters to earn pocket money. He may even have considered earning a living in this manner, if only temporarily.
The very first advertising works, which date from 1918–19, were done before the young artist had discovered his own style and are marked

by the Art Nouveau style stili prevalent at the time. Subsequent designs, however, dating from 1923–1925, an be described as „Cubo-Futuristic” and are similar in some respects to Art Deco. It was also during this period that Magritte worked for Norine, the most important Belgian fashion house of the day, where he created posters, ads, and brochures.

The diploma wil be about engineering books and books for bilingual children (what helps them to learn the language). Based on the classic Locomotive by Julian Tuwim I will try to refresh it in a movable book adding Augemented Reality to it and make it practicale for learning the language. For now I made a standing papercut prototype but along with my supervisor Yadzia Wiliams the illustrations will evolve and the book will be ready for the next yea. Diploma project is done in collaboration with the international programme Advanced Learning and Inclusive EnviroNment (ALIEN) for Higher Education through greater knowledge and understanding of migration flows in Europe. in which i have the oppurtnuity to work with emmigrants and educators in UK and consult my stage of the work
