Reverse in Design is the process of extracting knowledge or design information from the masterpiece project. The process often involves disassembling and analysing its components and workings in detail.

01 : reverse in design | domestic narrative
domestic narrative : living with integrated walls The project explores the possibilities of integrated walls. And it focuses on the ergonomic relationship with walls and constructional details. In domestic narrative, it is telling a story of the everyday life of the couple living with integrated walls. It illustrates how the walls contribute to the living of the couple.

scoop of work
Body extension is a wearable object that emphasis a narrative of the body motion. Through this project we develop an understanding of our bodies and surrounding space. Forming a narrative base on ergonomic relationship with the object. hand drawing maquette 1:1 prototype
02 : body extension | stop motion documentory
narrative of the body : wrapping towel Through the 30-image stop motion time lapse, I select the wrapping hair towel motion as my study object. The aesthetic design element is the silhouette of the fabrics through twisting. The towel formulates a spiral element like a screw. Through series of drawings and models, the body extension emphasis the ergonomic relationship of wrapping. Through the analytical drawings, i visualize my own way of understanding and analysising the motion I have created. And through drawing to communicate my idea and thinking process.
02 : body extension
maquette : mechanism of twisting
The maquette is a construction model that demonstrates the mechanism of the spiral movement. The strings of the maquette are the abstracted representation of the silhouette. Through twisting the maquette, it demonstrates the relationship between body movement and space.

body extension : The body extension is a wearable object that narrates a wrapping motion. It emphasis the aesthetic of silhouette. Through this project, I explored the potential of different materials and got a hand on modellings.
03 : narrative framing studio l spring semester 2019 group project
project description
Narrative framing is a site oriented located in Temple Street, Hong Kong. Most of the shops in Temple Street are temporary shelters. They are built at noon for busniess and dimantle at midnight. Driven by such unique narrative, our group generates a set of origami installation which engage with the site condition and our body extensions. Each of our groupmates work on one component. We experiment with different way of construction, using different materials.

03 : narrative framing | origami component
origami component : site model and drawings The material of component united the design. Every component is made by paper. However within the commoness, each component is constructed in different way to illustrate different narrative. We used arcrylic, metal and wire as three different construction methods. Through the diversity, we learnt from our groupmates and explore more possibility in term of construction.

03 : narrative framing | design development
origami component : development process Multiple models and prototpyes have been made to test with the spatial quality. Through modelling we tried different construction methods and tested out whether the machanism works or not.
