CALL FOR SCRIPTS 2012 – ‘13 CLOSING DATE: 2 F EBRUARY 2013
___________________________________________________ Accidental Theatre – a Belfast-based new-writing company – is once again open for newplay business: It’s our annual call for scripts and we’d like to read yours. We’re on the lookout for truly delectable theatre texts for development in 2013 and beyond: adventurous in content and approach, brave in vocabulary, and with a serious knack for visual storytelling. Adaptations and translations of knock-your-socks-off unfamiliar stories would be intriguing to see in the mix. Each year, Accidental aims to pull as many new plays off the page and onto their feet as humanly possible. Resources are thin on the ground no matter where you look, but deserving writing shouldn’t be left without ears and eyes because there isn’t a pile of cash to splash on elaborate main stage productions. Gorgeous theatre comes in boxes of all sizes and on shoestrings of all lengths. We produce short and full-length scripts for a range of new-writing projects, in particular the Biscuit Tin Readings and 15 Minutes. Dig around on accidentaltheatre.co.uk to find out what we’ve been up to. * TO SEND US YOUR WORK: Follow the script submission guidelines on our website. Easy as steak & kidney. We’re accepting submissions until 2nd February 2013, and our aim is to reply within six weeks of the closing date. There’s no fee for Accidental script reading, and each submission will get at least brief feedback from our literary team. Playwrights of any gender, age or nationality are perfectly welcome to submit work. Any questions? Write to Emily DeDakis (our Literary Manager & Dramaturg) – emily@accidentaltheatre.co.uk. Otherwise? Get writing. We hope to hear from you soon.
