EXTRA ORDINARY Australia’s bendiest comedian, Frank Woodley (Lano & Woodley) is leaping back onto the stage with a brand new live show. Frank Woodley fashions comic nonsense from any topic as easily as an origami master turns a sheet of paper into a beautiful giraffe that's not anatomically correct 'cause it’s really hard to make the legs as thin as they should be. Treat yourself to an evening with one of the country’s most beloved physical comedians — it will be anything but plain ordinary.

P E T E R HELLIAR For his first ever solo appearance in Tasmania, Peter Helliar’s brand new stand up show is one hot mess or is that one mess of hotness? Either way it’s going to be both hot and messy. Helliar has been one of Australia’s favourite comedians since he appeared on our TV screens on Rove back in 1999. He’s hosted radio shows, made a feature film and created an AFL sensation by way of Bryan Strauchan and can be seen most nights of the week on your television as full time co-host of The Project.

Joe Camilleri is a musician of many parts: songwriter, singer, saxophonist, producer, performer, bandleader and record label boss. Camilleri and his band (John McAll keys, Claude Carranza - guitar, Mark Gray - bass and Angus Burchall - drums) are one tight unit. Fresh from a national run of sold-out shows, the Exes make music that draws from traditional fourpart harmony, creating a new brand of modern folk.
Composer John Thorn is joined by legendary Australian performer Linday Field (John Farnham band) and the enchanting Emily Taheny (Mad as Hell ABCTV) for a musical odyssey through Henry Lawson’s most beautiful poems.
Katie Noonan’s technical mastery and pure voice makes her one of Australia’s most versatile and beloved vocalists. A mother, singer, producer, songwriter, pianist and business woman, she is also a 4 x ARIA Award winning and 7 x platinum selling artist.
Inspired by tangos, English Music Hall and European Folk tunes, echoing composers such as Jacques Brel, Astor Piazzola, Joni Mitchell and even the Angelican Hymn Book.
Katie will perform exciting new material from her latest album ‘Transmutant’ alongside a selection of her favourite songs accompanied by guitarist PJ Koopman. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience this angel-voiced songstress in an intimate spiegeltent setting.
These gals have shared the stages with acts as diverse as Backstreet Boys to Megan Washington, Mama Kin and Ainslie Wills. On mandolin, ukulele, accordion and guitar, the Exes deliver tunes that are tastefully crafted within the context of a playful and utterly charming live show. ‘CATCH THEM BEFORE THEY’RE FAMOUS AND ONLY PERFORM FOR ROYALTY AND ASTRONAUTS’ THE BRAG

G LENN RICHARDS (Augie March) Accompanied by DAN LUSCOMBE Glenn Richards (Augie March) and Dan Luscombe (The Drones) have been great friends and collaborators for many years, ever since meeting backstage at the first of The Church's famed "Last Ever" gigs having supported in their respective outfits at the time, Augie March and The Black-Eyed Susans. Late last year they finally recorded a full length together after many late nights talking about it, and with Chris Richards, Ben Bourke and Mike Noga, delivered the raw, ambitious, destined to be cult album, Glimjack, in a cold warehouse in the outer Melbourne suburb of Fairfield. Talents collide in a one night only performance at Spiegeltent Hobart.

BUSH BASH BARN DANCE
(AUSTRALIA / IRELAND)
The Bushwackers remain one of Australia’s most recognisable ensembles. There’s barely an Australian adult under 40 who didn’t learn ‘The Heel and Toe Polka’ to the bands track blaring through the speakers. A product of early '70s jam sessions, the Bushwackers continue to deliver a zealous, gung-ho blend of rock and Australian folk music. Their iconic music, much of it based on the traditional working songs from the early 20th century, seamlessly incorporate Celtic instrumentals and great contemporary originals like Beneath The Southern Cross, Henry’s Men and I Am Australian.
Live, this duo is pure dynamite. Veteran wild man of Australian blues Hat Fitz and Cara, quick-talking soul singer and percussionist extraordinaire, know how to set the room ablaze with their foot stomping hill-style blues, sassy banter and jaw-dropping musical talent.
The Spiegeltent was made for dancing, so dust off your boots, grab a city friend and come have a thigh slapping good time!
D at e s
Hailing from Queensland, Hat Fitz plays guitar, banjo and sings the blues with an undeniable authenticity only possessed by the greats. Cara Robinson sings country, blues and roots with an energy that has her effortlessly switching between drums, whistle and washboard, while buoyantly weaving it all together with her dynamic voice. ‘THEY PACK MORE ENERGY, EMOTION AND SHEER MUSICAL EXUBERANCE INTO ONE SONG THAN MOST MANAGE IN A WHOLE CAREER’ SPIRAL EARTH (UK)

CHUPACABRA
TA S S W I N G
For many years people have searched for the Chupacabra in Central and South America. Turns out Chupacabra is Hobart based and only cares about making people smile, flirt, drink and dance.
Formed in the 1920’s ballrooms of Harlem, Lindy Hop was the original form of swing dancing. It experienced a worldwide revival during the 1990s, which led to the development of the retro-swing music scene.
Featuring Jim Verrel and David Cavallo on the horny trumpet, Aaron Entresz plays dat hot guitar, Ryan Mossop lays down the bass, Elias brings the conga commotion and Maggie Abraham keeps all the lads in line WHILST singing and playing timbales. This rowdy Tasmanian band will bring the fat Latin Cumbia beats to the party.
Hobart’s own TasSwing troupe will be pulling out all the moves to classic swing tunes, jazz standards and crazy songs from their live big band. Tap, jive and dance along in one of the most beautiful old-school venues in town!
