It reached to 9.2 magnitude and it was the second biggest earthquake in the 20th century. The earthquake was so big that it made a tsunami!!!!! The link above will show you the site I am getting this information from. The epicenter 61.04 north and 147.73 west. The boundary that Caused the earthquake was the convergent and the proof is on the site that is once again, above and under the title.
http://www.ci.kenai.ak.us/aboutkenai.html The daily life at Alaska is not that similar to the life that we live. We rarely have an earthquake, when they are having them once a day. But other than that, their life is no different. In the link above, there is some information that is very useful if you ever wanted to visit the place. There population is 7,115 but this is when it was 2009. The place is in a peninsula so it is a little different to our beaches. http://www.muni.org/Departments/OEM/Prepared/ Pages/EarthquakePrep.aspx When an earthquake is happening, people in Alaska are ready for it. People in Alaska have prepared for Earthquakes for a while, what they usually have a kit that would be used if the earthquake was really serious and they couldn’t escape their home for a while. Also they would use the skills they learned in school or at home. These skills are like ducking under a table.
This has been another classic, “ I want to learn more moment with the SSA!!! Have a great day.
