WHY DO WE SELF-SABOTAGE OUR DREAMS?
WHY DO WE FEEL UNWORTHY?
HOW WE MOVE THROUGH TRIALS AND PAST DREAMS?
PAST FAILURE
PRESENT FEAR
PROJECTIONS FOR FUTURE
While we can't rip out the pages of our lives, we are not narcissists of our narratives.
Amid the death of dreams, reimagine your story and pick up your pen again.
The dead dream (held, never held) 1.
The deferred dream (pending, on hold) 2.
The detoured dream (pivoting, adjusted) 3.
Acknowledge – Grieve, Lament
Ask – What lesson can I learn?
Accept – Surrender versus Resistance
Adapt – Be agile, soft, flexible
Let go by Deloitte due to re-org > Opened the door to start my business
Rejected by 15 literary agents > met my publisher through a friend’s wedding
Fired a client who was manipulative > made space for better clients
Runner up 5x for jobs due to “lack of people management skills” > some of those companies ended up rotating through multiple people in those roles
No’s from various clients > realizing those clients would have been stressful
The life I didn’t expect > the life I’m blessed to live out
Do what you love, and the money will come.
Remember
- What makes your soul sing?
- Who are you?
Rehearse
- What limiting beliefs do you hold?
- Are you speaking the truth to yourself?
Re-center
- What truly matters to you? (Person, Place, Product)
- What is your current dream?
Recognize
- Have you ever vocalized it?
- Who in your community can help you?
I wonder where I’d be if I hadn’t dared to daydream.
ROO PANOS
Cut off
- What do you need to say no to?
- Do you have good boundaries?
Crystallize
- Write the Vision, the Plan
- Micro-dream: do the next thing
Courageously Go…
- Ask your boss/leader
- Ask your community
- Ask your funders

- Our best work is never done alone
Are you choosing the path of greatest resistance or least resistance?
How can you maximize your flow state?
How can you lean into your dreams?
Take 2 minutes to sit with your thoughts, ideas, and hopes.

Acknowledge & grieve the problem, pain and disappointment - what have you lost or not seen fulfilled? What are you believing about the future?

1. Ask yourself the hardest question of all: What if X, Y or Z NEVER happens?
Accept the current boundary lines as pleasant in your life - do you feel surrendered to the plan for your life?
4.
3. Adapt a flexible mindset to your journey - What purpose does God / the Universe have for your life right now? Are you willing to believe that good things are in store?
“The days grow long, and every vision comes to nothing.” Ezekiel 12:22)
Remember who you are 1. Rehearse truths about who you are – are you looking at your dreams in light of the bigger story and your ultimate purpose?
3.
2. Re-center your inner child – what brings you joy, strength, freedom and grounding?
4.
Realize your worth, potential, sphere of work, identity and overall purpose – how does a true perspective of yourself give you confidence to step out in faith and pursue opportunities? Where can you pursue your dreams even while facing the reality of your loss or unfulfilled dream?
Where am I and how can I thrive?
Cut off distractions – what is sowing discontentment/comparison? 1. Crystallize your present resources, goals, and opportunities to pursue your dream – are you being a good steward of your time, money, networks, and current position in life? If not, are you living as if the real living starts tomorrow?
2. Courageously step out and plant seeds in the garden of your dream, even if a mustard seed –what does it look like to be faithful and fruitful in the short-term?

3. Co-create with your community – in your story, dream, artistic expression, vocation – it takes a village to realize our dreams. How are you engaging others in your journey?
