HARMONY CONCEPT

Interior workplace connected by a monumental stair to an innovation center on the floor below | Washington DC | 14,900 GSF | Concept Phase | 2020-2021 | FOX Architects Sweeping forms move from the ground plane to the ceiling. These forms flows though the space, using natural materials and biophilia to blur edges and surfaces. The seamless use of warm tones, Integrated plants, and bold moments of dichroic finishes bring an experiential element of the fourth dimension through human moment and changes of time. Attention to detail with seamlessly integrated elements create a simultaneously quiet and invigorating energy. Harmonious relationships between the dimensions of surfaces, parallels the brand’s mission of connecting people, systems, and places for a more equitable world.

“Eutierria - a positive feeling of oneness with the earth and its life forces where the boundaries between self and the rest of nature are obliterated and a deep sense of peace and connectedness pervades consciousness Australian philosopher Glenn A. Albrec

ARCHITECTURAL FORMS & “PEOPLE FIRST”

Interior Workplace | Washington DC | 9,770 USF | 2020-2021 | FOX Architects Inspired by the relationship between people and buildings, the soft human features are comparable to the architectural vernacular as an external face. The concept of “People First” encompasses the familiar soft human features framed by the motif of a building’s windows as a portal between the people and their surrounding environments. The design will infuse the authenticity the brand with the influential architectural presence of DC to evoke a blend of personality that offers a poetic composition of different sophisticated and timeless materials. Selectively incorporating soft features that put “People First” becomes the driving design factor for collaboration spaces that generate a forward thinking mentality. The space and culture of the company will provide layered framed elements that are carried throughout a simplified and architectural experience, evoking a sense of familiarity nestled in a sophisticated ambiance.

PROCENTRIX _TECHNOLOGY

Interior workplace | Herndon, VA | 23,480 RSF | Design Development through Construction Administration - 2020 | FOX Architects Technology is meant to connect people. It bridges large expanses across the globe, making the world smaller. In the same way, the space makes use of connective elements to string together the many functions of the office into one cohesive whole.

BRANDING & STREAMLINED

LOBBY RENOVATION CONCEPTS

Concepts for a lobby renovation with budget and minimal demolition in mind | Arlington, VA | 2020-2021 | FOX Architects Studied as a kit of parts, highlighting the existing lobby elements that were studied with variations for budgeting options. Keeping as many existing elements, while modernizing the overall feel and look of the space was the challenge. Borrowing finishes from the campus’s other renovated lobbies was also explored.

Social Jungle | Digital Jungle

Interior Workplace for a company with a vibrant culture working in digital media - an oasis to balance digital work | Arlington, VA | 2020 | FOX Architects An environment where no one species can survive without the other; where species thrive when others thrive. Like a Jungle, the company succeeds when all the people succeed. The new office space needs to create an environment built for this symbiotic relationship to others and to the world we live in. Thinking about the space like a jungle helps organize the space. The Jungle floor is where the Silverback Gorillas live. This can translate into “head’s down” and “workspace” spaces. The trees and plants of the shrub layer or understory are places that provide shelter, food, and connections to many of the other jungle species. This translates into areas of connection and collaboration both internally and externally. The canopy brings in the oxygen, lightness and escape from the density of the jungle floor. In the office space, these are the areas of respite, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
