“Haselden has consistently been an outstanding contractor to work with on both large and small projects. They provide a level of service and leadership that enables us to meet or beat our aggressive schedules and budgets. They do not back down from challenges and understand the need to look at new ways of doing things. Haselden is very committed to the health of the communities in which they work. They have gone out of their way to give back to our Hospital. I feel confident that they are capable of handling any situation with attention to detail, quality and sincerity. “
- Tony Ruiz, VP Operations, University of Colorado Hospital
HEALTHCARE CONSTRUCTION EXPERTISE WITH A HEART Based on our history constructing healthcare facilities, Haselden knows that project success - whether on an operating campus or for a brand new facility - begins with a “Patient First” focus. Our “Patient First” philosophy filters everything through the impact our activities will have on the patient experience. This approach begins in preconstruction, as we collaborate with you and the design team, and continues long after the facility is complete via our warranty services. The goal is to ensure that you can provide the utmost in patient care during construction and beyond.
Defining Success Project success is defined by more than just budget and schedule. Our mission is to satisfy each client by determining how they measure success -- whether it’s becoming a top 10 teaching hospital or the most technologically advanced care facility in the country. The first step in every Haselden project is to initiate our Owner Expectation Program to ensure that every facet of the project meets your definition of success.

A PARTNER NOT JUST FOR TODAY BUT FOR THE FUTURE Given the constant advancements in medical equipment technology, it’s imperative you have a partner who makes it possible for you to get the latest in healthcare technology without impacting the project schedule. In support of that objective, Haselden has developed a Futureproofing Process. This process allows for decisions to be made significantly later in the construction process, so that you can maximize your equipment budget and provide your patients with the latest medical technology available.

This process includes: • Participating in user group meetings to understand how end users will work within the space and utilize the equipment, • Working directly with equipment vendors to understand the product specifications and requirements, • Collaborating with you and your design team to develop a decision making timeline and space planning requirements.
EMPLOYING TECHNOLOGY FOR BEST VALUE SOLUTIONS Building Information Modeling (BIM) is more than just a quality and constructability assurance tool at Haselden. We use virtual construction technology to help doctors, nurses and facility directors visualize and understand how the spaces will be used. This way, any needed changes can be made early on in the design phase, eliminating schedule impacts and reducing costs. Haselden has an in-house Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Department dedicated solely to the management of building information, with the goal of providing cost savings and efficiencies to our clients.

THE PATIENT IS OUR PRIMARY FOCUS There are many things to consider when providing construction services on a healthcare campus or within an occupied medical facility. At Haselden, we understand that patient wellbeing is always at the top of the list. We are committed to maintaining a protected, healthy environment for patients, visitors and staff during construction. Our healthcare teams have the expertise to make sure that happens on every project. Individually and collectively, they have extensive experience in healthcare construction. All are American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) certified, and several are designated as Certified Healthcare Constructors by the American Hospital Association. We know that Infection Control, in particular, requires special attention, planning and consideration. Our site specific Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) agreements incorporate not only Haselden’s infection control protocols but also those of the Hospital to ensure that the highest level of protection is achieved. All infection control requirements are written into our subcontracts to ensure compliance in all aspects of the project.

SAFETY EXCELLENCE Haselden is proud of its safety culture, which runs deep throughout each department of our organization. Our extensive safety program and outstanding safety record were recently recognized when Haselden won its second National AGC Safety Award. Haselden has also achieved the highest level of recognition by the Associated General Contractors Colorado chapter (AGC/C) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as part of the CHASE Partnership – another testament to our commitment to safety. Haselden is the first Colorado-based general contractor to receive the top level of this program. Before mobilizing on-site, we develop site-specific safety plans according to your needs, requirements, and expectations. We make adjustments to our safety program to fit the unique qualities of your project, including any specific reporting or communication needs. All projects have a designated Safety Manager, who conducts jobsite safety meetings with required attendance by a representative from each major subcontractor. Safety meetings take place at regular intervals to review procedures and status of any open safety issues.

In addition, we can supplement a subcontractor’s workforce with our skilled labor pool to keep the schedule on track should it be necessary.
Building a Sustainable Future While LEED provides a valuable blueprint for the way projects are designed and built in a very positive way, we believe the definitive measure of sustainability goes beyond certification. We promote and practice sustainability because finding more efficient, lean ways of doing business has been deeply rooted in who we are for decades. Founded in the Rocky Mountain Region, Haselden realized the value of preserving our region’s finite natural resources early in our history. Today, we are building upon that legacy with company-wide measures to reduce waste, lessen our consumption of energy and materials, and lead by example to effect positive changes in our industry. s
