CAPSTONE STUDIO The SAVE Farm (Service Members Agricultural Vocational Education) is an initiative designed to help veterans transition from military to civilian life through the provisions of farming education. The SAVE campus is intended to provide multiple therapy techniques, including farming, physical, occupational, and psycho-therapies. By providing a campus dedicated to equipping and supporting veterans, the SAVE Farm hopes to help, heal, and save our military veterans. This project worked in conjunction with the SAVE board members, veterans, campus planners, psychologists, architecture professors, physical and occupational therapists, and other references, including a music theory professor, the K-State dining hall head chef, and local farmers. As a class, we tackled master planning and the overall design language. Individually, we took ownership of developing the program, architecture, landscaping, and interior architecture of a selected building. Fifth Year - Semester - Class Project (Master Planning) - Solo Project (Architecture, Interiors, Landscape) Revit, Rhino, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Watercolor Rendering

CONCEPT Looking out upon a vast landscape inspires a sense of awe, wonder, stillness. There is a beauty within the unknown, an intrinsic pull into the beyond. You are at ease with your current place in the world, yet drawn to progression and discovery. In this way, the essence of the Flint Hills represents the desired tone of the transition center: encouraging acceptance with self and others, yet naturally propelling it’s users into their fullest potential.

WORKSHOP III Why are dog beds typically unsightly pillows sequestered to the corner? Do they have to detract from our living environments? Can they become pieces a part of our living room sets? These questions led to the creation of k-9, a mid-century modern dog bed designed for the dog-loving, design enthusiast. Fifth Year - Semester - Solo Project Rhino, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CNC technology, vacuum former, various wood shop tools.

FINISHING
+ Used to route each half of the walnut legs (as shown above). + Used to route the profile of each bendable plywood layer that would form the bed + Used to route the engineering foam to create vacuum form.
+ + + +
+ Automobile modeling clay used to patch cracks that resulted from vacuum forming process. + Sanded down to preferred texture. + Veneer carefully applied to this multidimensional piece.
Excessive wood glue used between each layer of bendable plywood. Layers bolted together and into foam form for stability. Air slowly removed from vacuum bag for approximately four hours. Glue dried to hold molded shape in place.

R E S TA U R A N T + R E TA I L The Spring is a mixed-used wellness space located in Portland, Oregon. Focusing on the revitalization of it’s visitors, The Spring includes a yoga studio, local market, clothing and products for a healthy lifestyle, and a fresh, organic restaurant. Third Year - Nine Weeks - Partner Project (2) Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Revit, Rhino, Interior architecture, facade design, furniture design, branding
29
CONCEPT The Spring was inspired by the lotus flower. Like the lotus, this space serves to inspire purity, rebirth, and enlightenment. With the absence of the sun, the lotus flower recedes into the murky water, yet emerges flawlessly into the sunlight. This space is to represent the ‘murky waters’ of daily routine, and provide an opportunity to revitalize the mind, body, and spirit. The exposure and airy atmosphere will correlate to the ease and openness of mind. In addition, the layering of the lotus petals will inspire the seamless transition and flow between spaces. The balanced composition of the lotus will be seen through the spatial organization. Overall, the exposure, layering, and balance inspired by the lotus will create a light, fresh, and vibrant atmosphere.

FREELANCE DESIGN Roots + Rain. Freelance calligraphy and graphic design. Est. April 2016. Roots + Rain is meant to represent the dichotomy of establishment and change. As a young adult and young designer, I believe it is ever so important to know your truth while always seeking to grow and live outside yourself: establishing your roots and welcoming the rain.
