The Mercury Logo

The logo is a representation of Mercury being the closest planet to the Sun merging with the idea and the mountains and the out doors. When working with the logo it is imperative that it looks consistent throughout all applications. To achieve this keeping the logo consistent always use the original graphic files in accordance with the guide lines. It is recommended that the logo not be distorted or stretched and should remain in proportion.

The logo can also be reflected but this should largely be reserved for stationery so items can be aligned comfortably with the edge of the logo.

The ‘Exclusion zone’ is a clear area around the logo and should remain free from any printing. There are exceptions to this such as when producing stationary or having the text with the logo. But that should remain within the exclusion zone.

M

The ‘Exclusion zone’ is always 20% of the width of the logo (x).

Name of person the letter is for First line of address Second line of address Town County Postcode Date Reference Dear Sir, A piece of stationery is a working document and must be designed with the users (both the sender and receiver of the letter) i n mind. Your design should not take up so much of the space that there is very little left for typing. You must also not impare legibility for the reader. The typed letter never goes right to the bottom of the page. You must leave enough room for the sender’s signature and job title to be included without looking squashed. Ideally, the signature should fall in the bottom third of the letter. Often, letterhead designs look great until a letter is typed upon them and then the whole thing can become a confusing mess. Check your design by trying out a test letter in the proper format and seeing how it looks. The exact dimensions of margins for typing vary according to your design and can be negotiated with your client. Yours sincerely,
