The industrial spirit in the service of craftsmanship Throughout its history, Andre Verdier Cutlery never ceased to combine ancestral tradition and innovation. Today it still incorporates advanced techniques. To accomplish its goal of 100% French, André Verdier Cutlery has developed a successful approach combining innovation and control of skills by:  preserving the ancestral masters cutlers tradition,  incorporating a maximum of expertise in-house,  dedicating a considerable amount of its resources to the R&D, innovation and design,  developing innovative manufacturing techniques,  investing in production tools.

This is complemented by a reciprocal subcontracting activity, which relies on partnerships in "eco-exchange" in order to :  maintain local employment,  Preserve cutler skills in Thiers area  limit the impact of industry and trade on the environment.

On 4 production sites we own over 100 machines specialized in forging, cutting, rolling, cupping, grinding, assembling, polishing, packing, cleaning, etc. Andre Verdier Cutlery is the last French company to master certain skills such as blacksmithing for stainless steel flatware heads, or pewter casting for making of all or part of the silversmiths handles.

Birth of a place setting line B-CHIC B C H I

For Anne-Sophie Pic, chef 3 stars in the Michelin guide, table is an aesthetic and gustative party, and she asserts this every day in her restaurants. She has joined forces with C+B Lefebvre design agency and André Verdier cutlery in order to develop her own cutlery line.

C

Born from this partnership, B-CHIC (sold under SCOF brand) blends Thiers masters cutlers’ traditions with the trendy spirit of the chef’s cuisine.

C

All items are without any defined function but the choice of using the one or the other at any time during the course of the meal.

U T

Far from the rules of a classic table, everything is possible. Each piece is studied in forms and handlings for a today’s gesture.

Anne-Sophie PIC’s range of tools to cook as a Chef ! After B-CHIC cutlery line, Anne-Sophie PIC renews her partnership with C+B Lefèbvre design agency and André Verdier Cutlery to create a kitchenware range suited to her personality. Their method is simple: three expertises for outstanding products. ANNE-SOPHIE PIC’S TOOLS, OR HOW TO PURSUE A NICE ADVENTURE Satisfied with her first experience with André Verdier Cutlery, Anne-Sophie PIC wished to continue this partnership by developing a range of kitchen tools.

In the kitchen, Anne-Sophie PIC and her team are using several knives and utensils which sometimes require to be more precise, more adapted, for lightness and ease in gestures. She wished for herself, her team and everyone, to propose quality articles in answer to this need.

P I C ’ S

The designers dive into the Chef’s kitchen, analyze gestures, decipher needs and sketch the first tools. In the factory, they approach the technical points, perceive possibilities and get organized around the constraints. In their agency, they concretize products arisen from the project and add the esthetic touch. Numerous round trips between the three sites are then linked in order to specify the design, test and adjust the prototypes until validation of "tools" by the three partners.

T O O L S

André Verdier Cutlery team bring its expertise and its know-how in the manufacturing of knives and professional utensils. It adapts the “Anne-Sophie PIC's tools" project in a consumer optics, under the brand “André Verdier”. It concretizes the design projects which it had validated by several prototypes generations which will be tested in the kitchen by AnneSophie PIC and her team. After validation, it launches their manufacturing in its factories

FORGÉS

+ …

A professional kitchen knives line unique in the world Created and manufactured entirely in France by André Verdier Cutlery, XX1 line of knives, is forged in one piece of steel (no welding) which makes it unique. Every knife in the XX1 line is from a forged steel bar and then worked until the final knife.

In order to follow the requests of several Chefs who participated in the development of the line, weight and balance of each knife was subject of particular attention. The result is an excellent handling, very popular for repetitive actions such as slicing.

X X

The handle has been designed to fit all hands (men and women) and all cutting styles (to use or not the knife’s guard). To give hardness to the blade, a specific quenching with cryogenics is used. This gives, to each knife, an excellent and more durable cutting edge.
