How to Set Ransomware Protection with AVG Internet Security? AVG antivirus is the popular software among all the antivirus software’s. In Smart Mode you can select which application can modify files in your protected folders. In Strict Mode, application will ask your permission to modify files in your protected folders. When a Ransomware Protection popup notification appears, you can click Allow App or Block app to modify files in your protected folders. 2. Specify Your Protected Folder: By default, Ransomware Protection scans your folders where your personal data is stored. If you want to add another folder to the list, then you have to select the Protected folders tab, and then click on Add Folder. After this, select a folder and then click on OK button. To remove a folder, you have to click the X icon. 3. Manage And Blocked Allowed Application: This feature blocks malware and viruses to modify files in your protected folders and by default, allows the trusted applications. If untrusted application tries to modify files in your protected folders, then it will gives you the alert notification which ask you that you want to block or allow the application. When you select, the application will be added to the Blocked Applications or Allowed Applications list. To manually add an application, you have to select the Blocked/Allowed apps tab. Then click on Allow an App or Block an App. After this, you have to select an application and then click on Open. To remove an application, just click on the X icon.
