She let the river run dry Sat by its banks and waited and watched. Didn’t try to help like before. Didn’t wade back in to clear the rubbish and mess that slowly strangled all hope. Nope! Not this time. She waited and watched. Did not interfere. Knew the time had come for endings. Even when she could see the water drying up and felt the old familiar pulling at her heart she sat. Even when she could hear the death rattles as the last drops dried on the parched bed she sat and looked at the horizon. Waiting for dawn and a new river rising.
