Immovable Barriers

A huge clot, bulges, bigger than the elephant in our room. Pressure builds in cells. Bulges and shifts. Tiny hairs show on the surface.

An iron door, clangs shut. A prison cell. Cold. The echoes isolate and separate.

Stale sweat creeps and recedes. The ebb and flow of polluted rivers into the seas.

Sharp rocks under bare feet. Coral slices through ready acceptance.

Metal clings to her tongue.
