INSTRUCTORS: W es W ilson - Eagle Institute Director of Training and Technical for CACTUS. Wes is a co-founder of Community Alliance for Career Training and Utility Solutions (CACTUS). Wes has over a dozen years experience in building and retrofitting residential structures. Wes, is also a principle at Eagle Institute Inc. and Sustainable Building Group Inc. Wes has trained hundreds of Contractors, Architects and Inspectors on healthy, energy efficient, green and Sustainable Structures. Laverne Dalgleish - Director and Immediate Past Chairman of Building Performance Institute (BPI) Laverne is a principal at Building Professionals Consortium (BPC), which designs, develops and delivers site quality assurance programs for the construction Industry. Laverne has been in the construction industry for over 32 years and has specialized in building envelopes, energy efficiency and building performance for over 20 years. Laverne is actively involved in the standards development process and is currently the chairman f ULC's Thermal Insulating systems and standards. He is also an active member in ASTM,CSA, CGSB and is the Secretary of two ISO standard development committees. Laverne is currently the Director of the Air Barrier Association of America. Peter Spafford - Building Professionals Consortium (BPC) Peter Spafford has been involved in the energy conservation and building performance industry for 14 years. Mr. Spafford has been an instructor in building science and building envelope for the past 10 years and has taught hundreds of installers, building officials and contractors across the country. Mr. Spafford became the national training manager for BPC and oversaw the delivery and facilitation of upwards of 50 training programs a year and coordinated upward of 50 - 70 project managers and instructors in delivering 6 week to 6 month term training programs in energy efficiency. Mr. Spafford has also spent a tremendous amount of time in the field performing 3rd party inspections on behalf of government, quality assurance providers, utilities and warranty programs. Mr. Spafford currently is the quality assurance program manager for BPC. He has been involved in both the development and compliance aspects of the program for a number of initiatives in both the residential and commercial building markets. Steve Easley – S.C. Easley & Associates Steve Easley is an internationally recognized construction consultant specializing in solving building science related problems and educating building industry professionals and their trade partners. His work focuses on increasing quality of construction, sustainability and reducing costly mistakes that lead to construction defects and call backs. Services provided include job site quality analysis, design review, educational seminars, mediation and product consulting. Steve is nationally known for his cost effective, practical approaches to building high performance structures and quality assurance. Steve's mission is helping industry professionals build structures that are durable, energy efficient, healthy and comfortable to live and work in. He has more than 30 years of industry experience. He has performed thousands of jobsite quality surveys and presented numerous building science seminars to construction professionals around the world with an annual audience of 8-10,000 industry professionals. He is a frequently requested speaker because of his practical approach to building science, his dynamic speaking style and his unique ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms that can be integrated into practice. Steve speaks regularly for these and other professional organizations and conferences.
