WITH the Emory medical faculty from 1956 until 1992, splitting his time between Grady and Crawford Long hospitals. He served as the first director of the Division of Renal Medicine and helped further development of kidney dialysis. He was known as an enthusiastic and dedicated mentor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ginny, and is survived by five children and four grandchildren.

SERVGA integrates governmentsponsored local, regional and statewide volunteer programs to assist emergency response and public safety organizations during a disaster.
