Bonneville There are few words in the English language that can evoke the type of enthusiasm and emotion than the word Bonneville. It is synonymous with salt and speed and everything in between. It is difficult to describe Bonneville. It isn’t so much a place or an event as it is a pilgrimage. Located just outside of Wendover, Utah the Bonneville Salt Flats stretch for miles upon miles in every direction. It is one of a handful of places on Earth where you can break the sound barrier in a land going vehicle. It’s the closest a mere mortal can ever get to being on another planet.
