Veronica Tharmalingam

Veronica Tharmalingam is a brand of luxury handbags for evening outings celebrating an unconventional lineage of women spawned by a fierce Indian Warrior Queen. Bold, vibrant, and elegant, these unique bags are an invitation for women to find their own inner queen and to dare to express it with class, authenticity, confidence, and style.

The Veronica Tharmalingam handbags are made by hand near Mumbai, in India. There, in the workshop where thousands of years of traditional savoirfaire are used to craft every fabric, every thread, every button, and every seam, each bag is created as a unique and exclusive piece of art. Raw silk, primarily used for the fabrication, is traditionally associated in India with royalty and is also a component of life’s most important events.

Behind the brand, a woman, a vision. Veronica Tharmalingam is the greatgreat-granddaughter of Rani Mangammal, the Warrior Queen of ancient Madurai. She grew up in Chennai, in the Southern Indian State of Tamil Nadu, before moving to Paris at the age of 12. Like her mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and great-great-grandmother before her, Veronica’s life was shaped by India’s values and traditions, yet never bound by its conventions. With her brand and bags, she wants to empower women to live the way her ancestors taught her to live: driven and artful, grounded and tasteful, wisely determined, and boldly elegant.
