Rolling loud MiaMi 2023
Bringing the Best and Brightest in hip-hop each year, Rolling Loud Miami raised the bar even higher for its eighth annual edition. Dozens of artists performed over three days, drawing from all corners of the rap map. This time around, Rolling Loud expanded its palette, welcoming artists from across the genre spectrum.

A$AP Rocky concluded the evening with a cinematic set, previewing songs from his upcoming album Don’t Be Dumb and welcoming special guests $NOT and ICYTWAT. Cardi B showed up during her husband Offset’s set, joining Moneybagg Yo as a special guest during the Migos rapper’s set. Lil Uzi Vert delivered one of the day’s most anticipated sets, performing new music from their blockbuster, genre-spanning PINK TAPE for the first time on U.S. shores.
Bryson Tiller brought his signature brand of “trap soul” to Rolling Loud for the first time, testing the crowd’s sense of musical timing with his hit “Don’t” and bringing out “Let Me Love You” hitmaker Mario. Radio-conquering superstars like Latto and Don Toliver demonstrated their talents, ascendant stars Lil TJay and LUCKI drew passionate crowds, risers like Eem Triplin, Bktherula, TiaCorine, and D.C. The Don showed what they were made of, and acclaimed acts like Freddie Gibbs, 03 Greedo, and BONES found some of their most devoted fans.
A few hours before Rocky took the stage, hardcore punk phenoms Turnstile made their Rolling Loud debut, making them the first rock band to perform a set at a Rolling Loud event. Though they may seem like a surprising fit for the festival, the culture and sounds of hip-hop and guitar-based music have been on a collision course for years.
Playboi Carti’s headlining set on Friday made ample use of nu-metal riffs, and artists like Lil Uzi Vert and Trippie Redd have incorporated punk aesthetics and sounds into their “rage rap” milieu. Fans at the main stage were more than ready for Turnstile, whose melodic punk sound resonated and inspired nearly as rapturous a reaction as the more familiar artists. It’s safe to say that Turnstile won some new fans at Rolling Loud Miami.
Rolling Loud Miami concludes Rolling Loud’s festival season. It was a year of expansion, with new festivals in Thailand and Germany and a triumphant return to Los Angeles. Miami was a fitting capper, bringing the ultimate hip-hop experience for tens of thousands of fans. Led by its founders Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif, Rolling Loud plans to do even bigger things in 2024. Stay tuned.
Maybelline New York Brings Virtual Makeup Looks To The Workplace Through Microsoft Teams
Maybelline New York recently announced a collaboration with Microsoft, offering a new way to get ready for video calls with virtual makeup in Microsoft Teams. The Maybelline Beauty App in Microsoft Teams allows users to adjust their personal style quickly and easily from directly within a Teams meeting. The virtual makeup looks can provide a low-barrier way to try out different styles with the goal of democratizing makeup and empowering people with self-confidence, especially at work.
With this integration, Maybelline New York is taking its latest step into the digital makeup world. “Maybelline’s mission is to give everyone self-confidence to express their beauty. Whether you are working in-person or virtually, feeling good about yourself can help put your best foot forward,” said Trisha Ayyagari, Global Brand President of Maybelline New York. “That’s why we partnered with Microsoft Teams to develop virtual makeup looks – now, even on the busiest day, you can put makeup on with just a click. We hope we make people’s lives a little easier.”
Powered by Modiface AI and developed in collaboration with the Geena Davis Institute to ensure representation of a broad and diverse population, Maybelline aims to provide users with a range of looks to best suit their meetings while allowing them to explore different makeup looks they might not have otherwise tried out.
Consider this your “virtual makeup bag,” equipped with all the must-have digital makeup products for our increasingly virtual world. With a simple click, users can choose from 12 makeup looks to complement their own natural look and effortlessly feel their best. Each look has a product breakdown so users can understand which Maybelline New York product and shade constitutes the virtual look and recreate it in real life. Maybelline New York is pioneering this innovation for the L’Oréal group. The virtual makeup looks are now globally available as an option in Teams video calls to those with a Teams enterprise license.
“At Microsoft, empowering people through technology is at the core of what we do,” said Nicole Herskowitz, Vice President of Microsoft Teams. “The new Maybelline Beauty App in Microsoft Teams is a great example of how, together with our partners, we are giving people more ways to express themselves in hybrid work environments using the power of AI.”
