The Sierra Electric Cooperative Education Foundation was formed in 1990 by the Board of Trustees to benefit our members in our community. The Education Foundation is funded by unclaimed patronage capital credits, Operation Round Up participation and private donations.
In addition to the Education Foundation scholarship, Sierra Electric receives scholarship awards for our members from Tri-State G&T. These scholarships allow Sierra Electric to award students who will attend a college or trade school outside of the state of New Mexico. Two $1,000 Tri-State scholarships were awarded to Shane Neely and Ishua Cardenas.
Since 1990, Sierra Electric and its partners have awarded $280,400 in scholarships. Sierra Electric Cooperative is proud to be able to help support our youth in meeting their educational goals. We wish all the recipients, graduates and college students the best of luck in their future careers.
Wishing You a Safe and Happy Independence Day!
The Sierra Electric office will be closed Tuesday, July 4 to celebrate the holiday
