Turns out, Class of 2020 will go down in history as not being able to experience the traditional Senior Class activities like prom, senior week, graduation ceremonies, yearbook signing, and graduation parties.
It’s the year we’re all learning to deal with the “new normal” and “social distancing.” These times will require us to take different approaches to support and acknowledge the accomplishments of all of our high school graduates especially those in our service territory.
Mora-San Miguel Electric Cooperative would like to join those who are taking the extraordinary efforts to support and acknowledge seniors who have earned their place on their respective 2020 High School Graduating Class.
MSMEC from a distance offers an applause to each graduate and a supportive “high-five” offering the best to success in the future.
MSMEC extends a “job well done” to all parents, teachers, administrators, and other school staff for their diligence in supporting these young adults to achieve this important goal during these difficult times.

MSMEC 79th Annual Meeting CANCELLED

Attention All Members: Due to the extraordinary situation we all are dealing with and given the serious nature of the COVID-19 virus and the governor’s various stay-at-home orders, the MSMEC Board of Trustees has made the decision to cancel this year’s annual meeting (79th) scheduled for June 27, 2020.
District Meetings for districts 1, 4 & 5 scheduled for May 5th, 12th & 19th respectively, were not conducted as called for due to there being no opposition in each district and the emergency health declarations and executive orders.
Incumbent board members will remain on the board to represent their respective districts: • Virgina Mondragon: District 1 • Robert R. Baca: District 4 • Joe C de Baca: District 5
MSMEC’s 2019 Annual Report will be mailed to all members once they become available.
The Board of Trustees express their regrets for the interruption to our normal meeting schedule as set forth in our bylaws and operations. However, protecting the health and safety of all concerned during these times requires us to make this decision.
Trimming Trees Near Power Lines Can Kill
There’s really no other way to say it: Trimming branches or limbs near power lines can kill
If you look the other way, get distracted by deciding which limb to trim next or lose your footing, you could inadvertently make contact with a power line. You might think you have a steady hand but moving a few inches off course could be the last thing you ever do. It doesn’t take contact with a wire to cause a fatal shock—electricity will jump to find the quickest path to the ground. Keep yourself and your tools or equipment more than 10 feet away from lines.
Report a dangerous tree
Trees close to power lines can be dangerous and cause wildfires. You can help our prevention efforts by reporting a tree you believe is potentially a hazard. Call us at 575-387-2205 or toll-free at 800-421-6773.
