Lineworker Felix Martinez completes MERCHANT job training and safety program

Felix Martinez, a Sierra Electric lineworker, has completed the MERCHANT Job Training & Safety Program to become a journeyman lineworker. The program is one of the world’s most comprehensive training programs for power line personnel and is administered to line personnel in 40 states throughout the United States.

Electric cooperatives offer full-time employed apprentice lineworker an opportunity for structured on-the-job lineworker training in addition to this four-year program of self-directed study. The co-op manages the apprentice lineworker throughout the process.
