Mora-San Miguel Electric Cooperative’s New Mission and Vision Statements W e are excited to share our new Mission and Vision Statements at Mora-San Miguel Electric Cooperative, since established in 1940, our core purpose as an organization has not changed significantly, for almost 80 years we have provided our members with safe, reliable and affordable electricity. However, earlier this year, we began to examine the words we were using to describe our work. Namely our Mission and Vision Statements. We discussed, rewrote and revised to create a new Mission and Vision statement that are more accurate and reflect what we do and why we do it. Mission: “MSMEC established in 1940 is dedicated to improving the lives of its Member Owners, while investing in our communities, we deliver safe, reliable and affordable electricity with a focus on excellent member service, and clean renewable energy.” Vision: “MSMEC will support its communities by developing partnerships with its Members/Consumers, implementing new technology, monitoring and delivering smart, clean and affordable electric power in its expanding service territory.”

Coronavirus Disease If a COVID-19 outbreak happens in your community, it could last for a long time. (An outbreak is when a large number of people suddenly get sick.) Depending on how severe the outbreak is, public health officials may recommend community actions to reduce people’s risk of being exposed to COVID-19. These actions can slow the spread and reduce the impact of disease.
If you are at higher risk for serious illness from COVID-19 because of your age or because you have a serious long-term health problem, it is extra important for you to take actions to reduce your risk of getting sick with the disease. See www.cdc.gov for more information.
Estate Capital Credits M ora-San Miguel Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MSMEC) is pleased to announce that our Board of Trustees approved payment of Estate Capital Credits. If you are the beneficiary (spouse, child, sibling) to a MSMEC consumer who passed away between 2001 and 2018 and have turned in all the required paperwork you should have received a check by mail. MSMEC requires a copy of the death certificate, Affidavit for Payment of Capital Credits (Estate), and a copy of your current driver’s license. If you did not receive a check and have fulfilled all requirements, contact our office to determine if we have your current mailing address.
If you have a family member who is deceased and was an MSMEC consumer, please contact us for more information on our Estate Capital Credit program. A copy of the Affidavit for Payment of Capital Credits (Estate) is available on our website: www.morasanmiguel.coop under Services/Forms.
Please remember to inform MSMEC staff of change of address, whether you are a current member or not. MSMEC periodically pays capital credits on non-estate accounts. In 2016, we paid Capital Credits for years of service from 1989-2000. Many checks were returned to our office because of incorrect addresses. If proceeds are unclaimed, the Board approves these funds be used for educational scholarships and for the Youth Tour. Visit our website for updates on both of these programs or contact our office!
